- Pros: Great for those that favor more shallow keystroke travel. Best way to describe it my opinion is the feel of laptop keys but with bit (2-3mm) more key travel. Anyone that is used to typing on a laptop will feel right at home with this keyboard.
Illumination is fantastic. Does not look gimmicky or stand out like those ones lit by green, blue or red LEDs, may be a con for some.
I believe the keyboard is marketed more towards the non gamer crowd looking for subtle back lighting that will not garner too much attention on first look. However the keyboard is simply 'elegant' IMO. I do use for gaming and have no regrets, I consider this an upgrade over the Razer Lycosa keyboard I had before.
Super thin. I was amazed by how slim this keyboard was when I took it out of the box. Its barely taller than my mouse pad! If you stack up 6 pennies it will line up with the top of the keyboard.!!
- Cons: If you pry a key off by accident or on purpose (like I did) it is a pain to get it back on. There is a 'X" plastic mechanism underneath each key that is hard to get in place once undone. Would make cleaning out the keyboard in the future difficult in addition to the fact that there is very minimal clearance between each keys.
F1-12 FN Shortcuts Icons illuminated instead of the the F1-12 marks.
"Soft" wristpad in the advertisement is misleading. It is a solid strip of plastic coated in rubber. It is more of a nonslip wristpad than a soft one.
Finally, not really a con but the Tab, Cap lock and Left Shift keys are a bit narrower than most keyboards. I keep hitting cap lock a lot by accident.
No USB port since they are often found on keyboards in this price range but if you don't need an extra USB port on your keyboard this isn't a con for you. I will admit though It would of been difficult if not impossible to try and fit one into keyboard this slim.
- Other Thoughts: Overall a great keyboard. I took off 1 egg mainly because of the F1-12 lighting.
Awesome but unusable for some typists
- Pros: Awesome design. Probably the best backlit keyboard to date.
- Cons: Suffers from "phantom key blocking" on the following sequences of keys: n't, ine
- Other Thoughts: I'm one of the few users of this keyboard who suffers from its application of "phantom key blocking" on commonly-typed sequences of keys. for those unfamiliar with phantom key blocking, you should check out the video on Youtube (type in "logitech key blocking"). In short, for many people who have a slurred typing style, and type over 80 WPM, you will get certain letters dropped from the output of the keyboard. In the case of this keyboard, if you quickly type "ine" the "e" will get dropped from the output. Do note that you have to type very, very quickly so most users will never even notice this issue. However, for me, and a few people at my office who have tested the keyboard, we were able to replicate the issue. This is a serious design flaw, and unexpected from a company like Logitech. Typically key blocking is only an issue in gaming, because keyboard manufacturers typically have never used blocking on commonly-typed words.

Beautifully designed
- Pros: Beautifully designed, solid feel, comfortable keys and wrist rest, volume/mute control, ultra thin, but sturdy.
- Cons: As others have stated, the F keys double as the application launchers also with the use of the "function" key" and the option checked in set point. Personally I am not a fan of the double function keys and this keyboard would be better off with straight forward f1-f12 illuminated numbers. The backspace button is kind of small and I find myself searching for it. The illumination around the keys themselves are not as bright as the pictures lead you to believe.
- Other Thoughts: I was using a Logitech G11 which I really enjoyed until it started to die, which is fine because it held up great for the abuse it took. I thought I would try this to get the best of both worlds, great looks with illumination, which it does, but for me, it doesn't work well for gaming. It's so thin that it lies too flat on the keyboard drawer for me, so my wrist placement doesn't feel natural like with the G11. The keys are like laptop keys and not the raised keys like on the G11, so when feeling for the keys I often hit the wrong one as they are almost flush with the rest of the keyboard. These are all personal things that I noted for anyone that might be considering moving from the G11/G15/G19 to this. I believe I may have to move back to it and buy two more for spares. Logitech doesn't produce their line very long, so if you have a favorite of theirs, you have to stock up.
This is a winner
- Pros: This keyboard exceeded my expectations in every way. I was moving from a Microsoft multi-media keyboard, so I liked the ability to launch applications with a keytouch. I also wanted a near-silent keyboard that I could type on while on the phone. This is a really, really high-quality keyboard. It is far-and-above the best keyboard that I've ever had, and I've worked on PCs for more than 25 years. It is comfortable and outstanding. It takes up about 1/3 less area than my old keyboards and has all the functionality. I really do like the back lighting. So this is a winner.
- Cons: None at all. It is really great.
Super thin...
- Pros: Very thin, feels good to type on... illuminated keys are nice for web surfing at night with the lights off :) I like the grippy rubber on the wrist rest it feels just right. Long usb cord is a plus. This thing just looks and feels just right.
- Cons: Wish it had 1 or 2 usb ports on it...
