Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: 1. The ability to set your key backlighting to nearly any color in the spectrum and then save three different color profiles (tied to your 3 sets of macro profiles). You don't just pick from a predefined color but you are able to manipulate the spectrum in the usual manner and vary intensity/contrast of the color selection. This should appeal to all tastes. 2. The mini LCD screen. The screen is sharp and bright with respectable color fidelity. It looks amazing. You can shut it off (along with your backlighting) with the press of a button. The included software is a great start. I primarily use the clock, timer/stopwatch, the proc/mem monitor, the Youtube feature, and the RSS reader. However you can also set it to cycle through images, movies, or other multimedia on your hd, but I am running it on a clean install of Windows 7 so I don't have much yet. The real elegance of the lcd screen will be revealed with 3rd party applets, driver updates, and future software package releases...
Cons: ...Additional Pros: 3. 12 programmable "G keys" that can hold 3 macros per key. The macros can be programmed with the included software or "on the fly" in games by punching the MR or memory record key then the G key followed by your key combination macro and then concluding with the MR key. 4. Solid build and sturdy construction. The key press feel falls more into the "spongey" sound category, but is solid and functional. If you prefer the old fashioned eardrum deafening typewriter clicks look elsewhere.
CONS 1. The price of course. I purchases this well below the two hundred dollar range and would suggest others wait for a sale or price drop. 2. Long term lcd screen functionality? This is a new product lacking deep market penetration so no one has reliable statistics on screen failure rates and/or repair success. The lcd screen will need to function for several years in order for end users to reap the value of the unit. Keep liquids and unsecured objects off of your desk!
Other Thoughts: As the title to this review suggests, the value of this gaming keyboards is wedded to its potential. Logitech's bundled software, current game support (30+ titles), and driver updates are nice, but do not realize the sheer magnitude of potential that this unique keyboard has to offer. An SDK (software development kit) is included with the installation CD and available for download from the Logitech site (unconfirmed). I hope that a robust modding community grows along with the market penetration of this keyboard as happened to some degree with the G15. I can think of so many applets just waiting to be coded. Applets that redirect in-depth information from system monitor utilities like cpu-z, gpu-z, or temp monitors are obvious needs. This lcd screen could be an overclocker's best friend should these 3rd party apps hit the wild as you could potentially micromanage your hardware monitoring entirely through the mini lcd. Keep your eye open for game support announcements & modded scripts!

Pros: The colors are great, and the macros are a lifesaver. Good key depth. The ability to turn off the windows key is nice too.
Cons: Too expensive. I should have returned it. I just love it too much. It's irrational, and what Logitech counts on.
Other Thoughts: Why would I ever want to watch youtube on my keyboard? I know some people listen to music, but if its going to be minimized it's minimized anyways.

Pros: This keyboard is awesome you can change the keyboard colors to any color in the color spectrum, the LCD display has profiles for all the major video games I play and displays valuable information. I play battlefield 2142 alot and it gives me my ping, kills, score, ranking on team, ranking of game, experience points, XP required until next level, rank, name of server I'm linked to. And during normal desktop operation it reads out news, performance monitor, and clock
Cons: With such a sophisticated piece of technology it would have been cool if the firmware was installed on the device and up-datable through some type of nand flash
Other Thoughts: I know I like to have dimensions for some things but can never find them so here they are. The keyboard is 50cm wide, 26cm long 6.5cm high. Be prepared the wire is quite thick, 1cm is width and .5cm high

Pros: Crisp and clear color screen, looks better than my LCD computer monitor or my LCD bigscreen tv. Great support for most of what I play now. Movies look great on this thing too.

Pros: Ok where do I begin:
1. The keyboard can be any color you like 2. Plenty of G keys (I think the G15 2.0 is lacking there) 3. Windows key disable 4. Volume control on board is fun to use 5. Multimedia keys on top right 6. The screen!
The screen can do so much more than the G15s
1. Display full color ventrilo info. (now you know whos talking) teamspeak too if thats your thing 2. You can actually manage music/videos (yes videos) and select what you want to see using the menu instead of just back and next. 3.clocks are cooler and in color 4. Internet news feed with pictures 5. Select profiles on the fly with a profile selector menu (swap between Company of heroes and your favorite MMO for instance) 6.Better looking comp hardware monitors (color graphs and what not instead of just numbers) 7. Better game apps such as full color maps in Modern Warfare 1-2, inventory screen in RPGs, things like that. 8. Check your email in game 9. and with a very creative community ther

Other Thoughts: Some say its not that big of an upgrade over the G15 but that is wrong. The screen is far superior with VASTLY more features including the previous features...and the color changing makes it fantastic.
I had the original G15 for about 4 years (I broke it while cleaning under the keys otherwise I'd still have it), and the keyboard before that I had still use on other comps.
My point is, keyboards are an investment that last a long time. If you get this board now, chances are you will still be happy with it 5-10 years down the road. Its worth the price.
I can't live without macros ever since having the G15 (great for RTSs and MMOs). So if you have a G15/13 already then I can see why your not jumping on this board. If not, then I can promise you that you will NOT be disappointed.
