4 out of 5 eggsNot Sure

Pros: Best wireless illumined keyboard out there.

Cons: One freaking drop of any liquid will kill this keyboard.

Other Thoughts: For such a great keyboard, you would think they would protect it from spills a little better. I have killed 3 of these in 2 years with very minor spill accidents. Twice it was just one drop of water. If I could ever find a better protected keyboard, I sure would get it

2 out of 5 eggsMajor flaw - no tactile key indicators

Pros: Backlit, relatively quiet compared to most other keyboards. Long battery life.

Cons: There are no tactile indicators - those little bumps on the f, j, and sometimes a few other keys, to let you know where your fingers are, unless you look down at the keyboard. I thought this wouldn't be much of a big deal until I used it for a while. This significantly detracts from the usability of the keyboard for those who type quickly and need not look at the keyboard continuously while typing.

Other Thoughts: I suppose I can buy keyboard dots or braille key overlays, but I already paid amost $100 for this keyboard. I really don't like the thought of having to buy more stuff to make it fully usable.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat idea, bad implementation.

Pros: Wireless. I can't tell you how little I miss that keyboard wire. I really like the feel of this keyboard as well. I also have a Loigitech TK820 wireless keyboard and this k800 blows it away. The illumination I thought would be a cool feature, but since I use this keyboard at work it hasn't really been very usefull. If you game or surf in the dark this might be a great feature. Either way it doesn't take away from the functionality of the device.

Cons: I'm not sure if this is a problem with the keyboard or the unifying adapter but both my keyboards lag from time to time. The Internet seems to think it's a problem with 2.4GHz interference. Sometimes power cycling the device can make the lag disappear.

Other Thoughts: I give this device 3 stars. It has a wonderful design and feel, but the lagging almost has me looking away from Logitech Unifying.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice wireless keyboard... when you get used to it

Pros: Very responsive and very comfortable. Good for gaming. The illuminated keys are nice for when you're gaming or just typing in the dark. Also a nice long battery life and uses micro-USB for charging, which is handy if you have an Android.

Cons: I'm sure it was just because it's a different keyboard than the one I have at work, but I still occasionally "mistype" and hit wrong keys when typing. The keys themselves are very comfortable, however I'm still getting used to the feel, so there are still some typos which shouldn't have happened normally.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked out of the box without hassle. Using for casual gaming and lots of typing. Works for both.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I plugged in the wireless dongle and the usb charging cable and it worked near instantly. Windows did some installing and that was it. I did not use the CD that came with the keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsLasted me over 3 years after I spilled junk into it.

Pros: I can't believe this thing's lasted 3.5 years since purchase. The backlighting is useful without being too much, the keys have nice action, it's full-sized but not too big for your lap. It's not really billed as a gaming keyboard, but that's what I've used it for, and it has performed perfectly until this week. Purchased March of 2011.

Cons: There is no numluck indicator. There's a capslock LED, but nothing anywhere on the keyboard itself tells you if numlock is on or off, which mystifies me. A minor annoyance, and the only design choice I have an issue with.

Their tech support is told to upsell you instead of providing useful info. I left a bad review and nearly gave up on this thing, based on a useless convo with a useless tech.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could edit my original review.

Short form for the potential buyer: This thing lasted through 3.5 years of heavy gaming and light abuse. The batteries still hold a charge for days. The backlight is still as good as when it got here. I've never had it drop connection - less of an issue on keyboards, but still.

This week, the W key fell off. No pop, it's just loose now. It looks like the tiny pins under the key are finally too worn down to hold in the sockets. If I type too fast it goes flying across the room. This is the *only* failure this keyboard has experienced, and it took over three years. Chances are, if you're not a keyboard-mashing heavy gamer such as myself, it might last you even longer. I'd say get it.

Background and a note about cleaning:

A few months after purchase, this keyboard took a spill. Soda, too, so nasty sticky-dry gunk. I called tech support to ask how to clean it. I was told, "you can't, you'll break it, here let me give you a coupon for a discount on a new one." Obviously (to everyone but Logitech management), that didn't incite me to throw away my 5-month-old keyboard a buy a new one, it just !'ed me off.

Fortunately I decided to ignore the tech and try cleaning it. The battery cover holds a couple of AA-form-factor rechargeables; undo the screw, open as normal, set batteries aside. I then just rinsed the whole silly thing under cold running water for a few minutes. Really. Not hot, that can lead to mineral build-up. Give it some pressure and time, and even dried soda will rinse out under cold. Afterwards, i cloth-toweled it off (no paper!), propped it up sideways in a warm part of the room and let it air-dry for around 30 hours, before putting the rechargeables it came with back in. It worked perfectly, has ever since, until this week. So you can clean it yourself in the event of disaster, but do so carefully: think it through, nothing that will leave residue or bits of things in the works, and give it plenty of dry-time.

I'd hate to penalize the engineers that designed this monster just because their tech support guys were given stupid scripts, so I'll be buying another, and here's to 4 more years. This keyboard's restored my faith in Logitech's quality and durability.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a Keyboard

Pros: Simply amazing.
Incredible battery life (charge maybe every 3-6 weeks).
Light brightness can be adjusted easily.
Caps lock and battery life indicator.
Wireless distance is great, comes with mini USB transceiver.
Keys are quiet and still work like a dream after a year of constant use.
Feels sturdy and well build, not cheap.

Slim - Wireless - Long Battery Life - Illuminated - Amazing

Cons: None whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: This thing is a beast! Spilled almost an entire bottle of Water onto the keyboard and after literally POURING the liquid out of the keyboard and letting it dry out for a few hours, still performed like new with no problems. Would not choose any other keyboard. I was amazed.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Keyboard

Pros: I bought this keyboard as refurbished. The first one I received was dead on arrival, and would not charge. Newegg sent me a replacement at no charge and it too arrived DOA. However, this time, rather than attempting to charge via the USB port, I removed the two rechargeable batteries from the keyboard and stuck them in my external charger. After 5 hours of charging, even though my charger indicated they were not yet charged, I replaced them into the keyboard, and ... "walla", the keyboard worked like a charm! That was over 2 months ago now. The keyboard has been used daily and it is still holding its initial charge. Amazing!. I use the keyboard in bed 15+ feet from my computer and use my large screen TV as a display screen. Works perfect! I even accidentally dropped the keyboard once onto the hard floor from the bed. Feared for the worst but there was no damage, so it is sturdy.

Cons: No cons for this keyboard, after I got the DOA batteries to charge.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat idea poorly executed

Pros: Long battery life, easy to connect, almost perfect except for one fatal flaw.

Cons: button design, fragile, poorly designed buttons

Other Thoughts: The keyboard was exactly what I was looking for, long battery life, wireless, this is for my media box in my living room, I do some light gaming on this machine as well. This is a wireless keyboard, right? So its going to get moved from the coffee table to my lap or from my lap to the floor. When you do this, the buttons fly off, once they have popped off once they never go back on. You can barely rub your hand over the top of the keys and they will simply fly off. The first time I purchased this keyboard was from Fry's, I took it home and two buttons fell off in the box! I brought it back, the guy said: "Oh yeah, this happens all the time, go through THE ONES ON THE FLOOR, and find one that has all of its buttons attached(!?!) I took it home and sure enough less than a month later buttons were flying off again. I have purchaswed one other from Newegg since and yep, less than 3 months of use and buttons like 1 - 5 and w through t and the f button and the enter button on the 10 key (which I think I've literally used once, maybe) are balanced in place and barely work because they won't pop back on once they've popped off. I threw it away. Never buying this again.
