5 out of 5 eggsLasted me over 3 years after I spilled junk into it.

Pros: I can't believe this thing's lasted 3.5 years since purchase. The backlighting is useful without being too much, the keys have nice action, it's full-sized but not too big for your lap. It's not really billed as a gaming keyboard, but that's what I've used it for, and it has performed perfectly until this week. Purchased March of 2011.

Cons: There is no numluck indicator. There's a capslock LED, but nothing anywhere on the keyboard itself tells you if numlock is on or off, which mystifies me. A minor annoyance, and the only design choice I have an issue with.

Their tech support is told to upsell you instead of providing useful info. I left a bad review and nearly gave up on this thing, based on a useless convo with a useless tech.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could edit my original review.

Short form for the potential buyer: This thing lasted through 3.5 years of heavy gaming and light abuse. The batteries still hold a charge for days. The backlight is still as good as when it got here. I've never had it drop connection - less of an issue on keyboards, but still.

This week, the W key fell off. No pop, it's just loose now. It looks like the tiny pins under the key are finally too worn down to hold in the sockets. If I type too fast it goes flying across the room. This is the *only* failure this keyboard has experienced, and it took over three years. Chances are, if you're not a keyboard-mashing heavy gamer such as myself, it might last you even longer. I'd say get it.

Background and a note about cleaning:

A few months after purchase, this keyboard took a spill. Soda, too, so nasty sticky-dry gunk. I called tech support to ask how to clean it. I was told, "you can't, you'll break it, here let me give you a coupon for a discount on a new one." Obviously (to everyone but Logitech management), that didn't incite me to throw away my 5-month-old keyboard a buy a new one, it just !'ed me off.

Fortunately I decided to ignore the tech and try cleaning it. The battery cover holds a couple of AA-form-factor rechargeables; undo the screw, open as normal, set batteries aside. I then just rinsed the whole silly thing under cold running water for a few minutes. Really. Not hot, that can lead to mineral build-up. Give it some pressure and time, and even dried soda will rinse out under cold. Afterwards, i cloth-toweled it off (no paper!), propped it up sideways in a warm part of the room and let it air-dry for around 30 hours, before putting the rechargeables it came with back in. It worked perfectly, has ever since, until this week. So you can clean it yourself in the event of disaster, but do so carefully: think it through, nothing that will leave residue or bits of things in the works, and give it plenty of dry-time.

I'd hate to penalize the engineers that designed this monster just because their tech support guys were given stupid scripts, so I'll be buying another, and here's to 4 more years. This keyboard's restored my faith in Logitech's quality and durability.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a Keyboard

Pros: Simply amazing.
Incredible battery life (charge maybe every 3-6 weeks).
Light brightness can be adjusted easily.
Caps lock and battery life indicator.
Wireless distance is great, comes with mini USB transceiver.
Keys are quiet and still work like a dream after a year of constant use.
Feels sturdy and well build, not cheap.

Overall
Slim - Wireless - Long Battery Life - Illuminated - Amazing

Cons: None whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: This thing is a beast! Spilled almost an entire bottle of Water onto the keyboard and after literally POURING the liquid out of the keyboard and letting it dry out for a few hours, still performed like new with no problems. Would not choose any other keyboard. I was amazed.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Keyboard

Pros: I bought this keyboard as refurbished. The first one I received was dead on arrival, and would not charge. Newegg sent me a replacement at no charge and it too arrived DOA. However, this time, rather than attempting to charge via the USB port, I removed the two rechargeable batteries from the keyboard and stuck them in my external charger. After 5 hours of charging, even though my charger indicated they were not yet charged, I replaced them into the keyboard, and ... "walla", the keyboard worked like a charm! That was over 2 months ago now. The keyboard has been used daily and it is still holding its initial charge. Amazing!. I use the keyboard in bed 15+ feet from my computer and use my large screen TV as a display screen. Works perfect! I even accidentally dropped the keyboard once onto the hard floor from the bed. Feared for the worst but there was no damage, so it is sturdy.

Cons: No cons for this keyboard, after I got the DOA batteries to charge.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat idea poorly executed

Pros: Long battery life, easy to connect, almost perfect except for one fatal flaw.

Cons: button design, fragile, poorly designed buttons

Other Thoughts: The keyboard was exactly what I was looking for, long battery life, wireless, this is for my media box in my living room, I do some light gaming on this machine as well. This is a wireless keyboard, right? So its going to get moved from the coffee table to my lap or from my lap to the floor. When you do this, the buttons fly off, once they have popped off once they never go back on. You can barely rub your hand over the top of the keys and they will simply fly off. The first time I purchased this keyboard was from Fry's, I took it home and two buttons fell off in the box! I brought it back, the guy said: "Oh yeah, this happens all the time, go through THE ONES ON THE FLOOR, and find one that has all of its buttons attached(!?!) I took it home and sure enough less than a month later buttons were flying off again. I have purchaswed one other from Newegg since and yep, less than 3 months of use and buttons like 1 - 5 and w through t and the f button and the enter button on the 10 key (which I think I've literally used once, maybe) are balanced in place and barely work because they won't pop back on once they've popped off. I threw it away. Never buying this again.

5 out of 5 eggsThis keyboard is all you need.

Pros: Incredible battery life, duh it's Logitech.
Charges from the same charger I use for my galaxy.
Sleek design and very thin for a wireless keyboard.
Perfect comfort for gaming, office work and internet browsing. Especially for someone like me with HUGE hands.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is the most amazing keyboard I have ever used. It is well worth the money and I have owned it for over 2 years now. Logitech is the best company for keyboards, this proves it once again.

3 out of 5 eggsStill waiting

Pros: Logitech- trustworthy company, innovative products with features you actually want to use.
I wanted a backlit keyboard, that wasn't constantly lit up, but also not glow in the dark paint and cheap. I wanted wireless with a wired option that didn't have to be charged fully before use. This keyboard was it.

Cons: Logitech-- the first product you receive will be a brick or have some defect and the replacement will be amazing.
I bought this product for my husbands birthday, with issues I'll explain below but the above statement just sums up our luck with electronics. Idk if it's Newegg or Logitech but the first bought item never arrives in full working order-especially if we are excited about receiving it or using it. The backlight didn't function properly and my husband was immediately sad that he'd have to send yet another computer part back for replacement.

Other Thoughts: I ordered next day shipping late thurs/early Friday with rush processing and I didn't receive it until Monday. EVEN THOUGH it was just SITTING in my home town on Saturday in a locked and closed UPS store. I wish Newegg had a more clear request for Saturday or fedex delivery option. They refunded me partial shipping because it arrived after his birthday and I wouldn't have even selected next day if I had known it was never a possibility to pick it up Saturday. Of course my husband left the cord out of his return so we had to ship that separate a few weeks later when they determined it was missing and now they FINALLY approved it as defective and are sending a replacement---MEXT DAY SHIPPING! ---on a Friday -_- so we should get it Monday or tues next week. I'm just excited to receive a working keyboard and see how he like it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Range and long battery life (used for my media center)

Pros: This is my 2nd K800. My first one was purchased around 2010 (used on my Media PC) my 2nd one was purchased in Nov 2013 for my wife's new computer. Battery life is great charges from standard USB cable. Last more then 1 month for my wife and 6+ months for my media center per charge. Also batteries are replaceable if needed. Mine came with 2000 mAh battery

Cons: Logitech charging cable is a charge only and can not be used to transfer data. An example it won't work to download photos from my phone.

Other Thoughts: Core i7 4770K
32GB RAM
256GB SSD+1TB and 4TB of Network storage

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Never thought I would love a keyboard with a short key stroke but I do. The back-lighting is wonderful. The battery life is phenomenal. This keyboard is used about 6 hours a day and only requires charging every three weeks. Uses a standard micro usb cable for charging.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsTough keyboard

Pros: This keyboard was good for me because I don't like bulky, heavy, gets-in-the-way keyboards. This one is pretty lightweight, has illuminated keys, typing isn't that loud, tells you when caps is on, has function keys to control media, and even after a year of heavy use, they keys do not stick(with a few single-instance exceptions)

Also, for all those that might complain about battery life, you can turn the lighting level down on the fly. It extends the recharge period. It is a very nice feature.

It also has the auto sense feature, also very nice. It automatically disables the back light if it is running low on battery. It has a status display that tells you when the battery level is low. It even lightly flashes red when you are getting reallllly low on battery power.

The wireless distance is pretty good relative to other wireless devices. The tiny USB transceiver is amazing. I love being able to have all my devices tied to one transceiver.

So much greatness in one product.

Cons: None. Price maybe, but it is worth it.

Other Thoughts: The main reason I decided to write this comment was to explain why I consider it a 'tough keyboard'

I accidently spilt a lot of water on it. I felt like an idiot--but anyways, I turned it off immediately and tried to dry it out. I was convinced that after rubbing it down, and patting it against a towel, I had got all the water out. I was wrong and the keys started to have issues. I turned it off, flipped it upside down and stuck it in front of a vent. The two most noticeable keys having issues were the 'u' and the '2'. I would press one, and both of them would fire at the same time. As bad as this was, the fact that they were crossliked together made me think that it was just a matter of letting it dry off some more. After a few hours of failed attempts to get it to work again, I thought I was out of luck and started looking to get a replacement. I'm not so cheap to even try returning it after I made such a major mistake and it was completely my fault. I pulled out another logitech keyboard and went back to work a little upset at myself for letting the keyboard get ruined. I tried pulling off the 'u' key and drying it off under but all I ended up doing was breaking the plastic pivot clip(just the little knob/rod that holds the two pieces together). I gave up. The next day I decided to give it one more try before considering more permanent options. To my surprise, not only did it work but after I put the 'u' key back on, it still types like normal. In fact, I am writing this entire review on the keyboard. I haven't had a single letter mix up so far.

I realize this is atypical but you have to admit, it is pretty impressive that a keyboard could recover from one of electronics #1 enemy(water). I'm really happy to have it back in working order.

If there was a special 'sixth' egg, I would give it.
