2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Keys have a great feel, super easy to type. Function buttons are handy, lighting is well done without being distracting in darker environments.

Cons: After about a year keys started sticking. Battery life started getting worse. Within two years keys started getting jammed or stopped responding entirely. Battery life is almost non-existent, and since it's built-in, it can't be replaced.

Other Thoughts: Works well for a while, but falls apart pretty thoroughly. After a bevy of Logitech products that have done the same to me, I think I'm done with them. Getting tired of my mice and keyboards dying on me within a year.

4 out of 5 eggsFollow up review (4 years after initial review)

Pros: So good I'm getting another to replace the first after almost 4 years of heavy use and some abuse. Illumination feature is the main reason I chose this model. Sensors are not too sensitive and turns on when your hands approach the palm rest or when you depress any key and turns off after 2 seconds of inactivity. All the features you expect from Logitech as well including programmable keys via Setpoint. Has all the controls for music and web as well.

Cons: Battery life isn't horrible, but if you use it a lot each day and also use the illumination function it will likely not last more than a week. The terminal that connects to the keyboard is a micro USB and many connect/disconnects will start to weaken the internal port on the keyboard. Mine still works and I have tugged it accidentally countless times over the years so that may be just me.
Sometimes the illumination doesn't auto turn off for some reason. All you have to do is cycle the power with the on/off switch located above the keypad and it works as normal. No biggie.

Other Thoughts: As the title says, this is a follow up review. I've had this keyboard for very close to 4 years. The recharge port has gotten a little weak internally but that could easily be from tugging on it a lot as I use this with it on my lap and not on a desk. When plugged in to charge I've occasionally tugged too hard on accident so this may be an isolated thing.
After all this time it finally forced me to buy a replacement because the "p" button just stopped working last night. I'll gladly fork over the fund for a new one. I'm reminding that everything fails eventually, so not only did I reorder another K800 but I also ordered a cheap backup.
If you need a keyboard that illuminates then I suggest this one. It's basically the same old great keyboard you expect from Logitech but also can be used in the dark just as if it wasn't dark at all.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product!

Pros: This keyboard is great. You take it out of the box and can admire it's sleek body and smooth feel. It is ready to go immediately and all you have to do is plug it in and GO!. It has wonderful backlit keys that adjust to the current lighting and a very quiet key stroke.

Cons: I have yet to find a bad thing about this product. It has great range and great battery life (IF you don't leave it on all the time).

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this to anyone in the market for a great wireless keyboard that has backlit keys and a sleek body. Very practical and well priced. :D

2 out of 5 eggsCaps lock key doesn't illuminate

Pros: Lighting is nice, keys feel good.

Cons: You can't tell that the Caps Lock is in place because the light on the key doesn't illuminate. I've seen other posts on this from the Logitech site. I'm thinking of returning it.

1 out of 5 eggsFragile keyboard / bad customer service

Pros: USB charging lasts a long time,
Keys are a pleasure to type on

Cons: Fragile
Keys sticking after one month
Keys falling off after two months
TERRIBLE customer service

Other Thoughts: I must say that this experience with Logitech has been terrible.

First off, I bought a K800 keyboard that managed to fall apart (keys sticking / loose) after 3 months of normal wear. It turns out that this is a fairly regular occurrence with the keyboard, which is unfortunate as otherwise it would be pretty decent.

I contacted logitech customer care at the beginning of April about it, and they said they'd replace it after I sent in my receipts etc. Fair enough. Having proved purchase they released a replacement, but it never arrived. I checked on the tracking number after a few days and it said "No Value Declared, Ups is trying to contact shipper". I left several emails with Logitech but no one got back to me, and the shipment was eventually returned to sender.

I called them after I saw it had been received by someone at their shipping docks, and they told me that they were sorry and would release a new one right away. I got an email saying my shipment was released and to expect a tracking number, - only the tracking number never arrived. I waited a week for it to ship, and again left several emails which AGAIN no one responded to, until I got fed up and called back at the end of the next week.

This time they said "oh we had a problem in our warehouse with tracking orders, but it's fixed now we'll get it shipped out right away, Monday at the latest".

Well here it is Monday and (expecting again to get nothing) I called them back where I had the misfortune of speaking to Enrico from customer service who talked over everything I said, was patronizing, laughed when I asked to speak to a supervisor (who I wasn't allowed to speak to) and wouldn't call me back after placing me on hold several times even though I told him this was a long distance call for me from Canada.

In the end he said "we can't get the tracking number for you right now but you'll get it later today" - but I could tell he just wanted me gone. i don't expect anything at this point and I must say, this will be the LAST LOGITECH product I ever buy.

Brutal.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointment

Pros: Logitech's customer service

Cons: Quality

Other Thoughts: So, between myself and one coworker, we have owned 4 of these keyboards (each of us purchased one, and Logitech was kind enough to replace both of ours once for the same issue). I am currently done with the second one (the two keyboards per person lasted a total of about 9 months) because the "Enter" key on the right side keypad keeps breaking off. If the keyboard is going to be made with a keypad, you'd think it would be made to use. I'm not even using it for something like Excel where I'd be entering after each cell! Do not buy if you're actually goi to be typing a lot. Very poorly made.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best keyboard I've ever used

Pros: The best keyboard I've ever owned. If it broke tomorrow I would order a replacement. Feels like a wired keyboard, the build quality is beyond expectation. The darn thing has a proximity sensor so it'll light before you even touch a key. Battery life is insanely long. I've only charged it twice. Such a fantastic keyboard.

Cons: Can't think of anything. Honestly. Great keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage!

Pros: Lights up

Cons: I am on my third keyboard in two years. First one the keys fell off with no way to reattach them. Second one started to type out different letters than I pressed. Third one started to type out different letters than I pressed also. Logitech warranty service is such a pain especially for a third warranty issue I'm just going to throw it away. I've had enough.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT WORTH THE $$

Pros: Easy typing, quieter than most, cool lights, great battery life.

Cons: Not worth $99. I would easily pay $60 for this keyboard, but not the full price.

Other Thoughts: It is a very nice keyboard don't get me wrong, but I just feel that I cannot recommend the price for what you get.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow up review (3 years after initial review)

Pros: The keyboard has sustained much abuse and keeps on working as normal. I even use it for gaming. The illumination is the reason I chose it, but it has other features that I also couldn't live without like media keys for music/volume because I listen to music pretty much all the time even while I sleep. The depth of the keys while typing is also perfect for me. I can't stand tall keys with deep keystrokes.

Cons: I sit back from my monitor (about 3 feet or so) and this sits on my lap. This means it moves with me which is why I chose the wireless version. The USB charging cable has a mini USB port that connects to the keyboard. It's not flimsy, but with a lot of plugging in the port tends to get weak. After just about 4 years of heavy use the internal connections have moved slightly and the mini USB doesn't make the full contact it used to. It still charges but doesn't stay in as good as it used to. If you use a keyboard like I do then this will be something you need to consider while you use it. Regardless, you still have to plug in the charging cable frequently and eventually it will weaken the tiny port.
Also, dust and food and hair and whatever else will eventually fall between the keys. There is little protection to avoid this. And eventually some keys will not activate with normal pressure. It's not a difficult fix at all and sometimes just needs a nice hard blow from full lungs. Sometimes I have to remove the keys in the area to clean it.
These two things are cons, but as I said it's been nearly 4 years and if that's all I can complain about...

Other Thoughts: After owning this thing for very close to 4 years I'm coming close to needing a replacement. When I do get a replacement it will be either this one again or the wired version. I just got a cheap one for backup if this one dies and I cannot charge it anymore, but I'm thinking I won't even do that and just take the batteries out and manually charge them and swap out sets. It's very inconvenient to do that, but I really love this keyboard.
