1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: solar powered, feels good to type on

Cons: flimsy construction, driver issues

Other Thoughts: I am on my 2nd keyboard and they have the same issues:

The case has waves in it by the solar panels, making it look cheap. Not all of the keys are parallel to the case. The biggest deal is that THE LEFT CONTROL KEY DOES NOT WORK on my 2013 Retina MacBook Pro. I've tried plugging it into a Linux box on PC hardware and it works, but it will not on my mac.

I'm a UNIX Systems Engineer, I use that key hundreds of times a day! If I cannot get this fixed by the end of the week then I will have to return the keyboard and get an Apple keyboard. I'm not wanting to be a fanboi with 100% apple hardware, but it might be the only option that I have.

Logitech support is trying to help on the forums, but they're not really doing a great job. I'm losing patience.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Keyboard

Pros: Wireless, Solar Powered! Slim, quality construction, and its White!

Cons: So far not much, the F1 thru F12 keys are not customizeable when using this keyboard on windows 7, but then this keyboard was made for mac, other than that, absolute flawless!

Other Thoughts: Paired with Corsair Source Elite 210 case and Asus 238h Monitor and it is a beautiful white PC setup!

5 out of 5 eggsThis is a wonderful alternative to Apple keyboards!

Pros: It looks and feels just like an Apple keyboard—it has the same keys and key placement.

It is solar powered by any light source, so it is ALWAYS FULLY CHARGED. I have owned this keyboard for about a month, and I have never turned it off. Any time I check the battery life, it is always at 100%.

It is wireless AND has a numeric keypad. At some point for some inexplicable reason, Apple decided to remove the numeric from its wireless keyboards, which was incredibly frustrating and annoying.

Pressing the special Check Light key will make a green or red light flash, indicating whether the current light source is good or bad. If you install the Solar App, pressing the Check Light key will also open the app, which shows the intensity of light and the current battery life.

Cons: It does not have an indicator light for the caps lock. This is a very odd omission and a little annoying at times, but not enough to keep me from recommending this keyboard.

Other Thoughts: It does not use Bluetooth but instead uses Logitech’s Unifying Receiver which takes up a USB port. This might be an issue for those on laptops, which have limited ports, but it is not a problem for me, because I just plug it into the USB hub on the back of my Apple Cinema HD Display. Also, one Unifying Receiver can be used with multiple Logitech devices.

For some reason the Solar App has not been officially updated past OS X 10.5. If you go to the downloads page on the Logitech website and choose “Mac OS X 10.6.x - 10.9.x” for your OS, it will not show up. You must choose “Mac OS X 10.5.x” to find it. You don’t need to worry about compatibility issues, though. I am using the app on OS X 10.9.1, and it works just fine.

Also, for anyone that cares, I am using this keyboard with my Hackintosh / CustoMac, and it works perfectly in both Mac OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks and Windows 8.1. It also works on my late 2007 MacBook Pro running Mavericks.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Sleek, awesome design. Obviously the solar power, no batteries, EVER. Keys feel great to type with. Great mac keyboard; completely squashes all bugs and cons of the Apple wireless and even wired keyboards. ON/OFF SWITCH.

Cons: Does not have the quick applications button on the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this keyboard. Super simple, absolutely no problems. Using this with a macbook pro.
