5 out of 5 eggsG710 plus keyboard

Pros: Adjustable backlighting, the palm support is removable. Seems pretty heavy duty.

Cons: Requires two USB ports for power. But that's not too big a deal.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Product, Terrible Support

Pros: The keyboard is great and feels wonderful type on and for gaming. I have yet to use the G keys but everything else is fine with one minor exception.

Cons: My only issue is a minor one but it is compounded by the terrible support I am getting from Logitech, which is none at all. I noticed an issue with the keyboard. When Num Lock is turned on all the numpad keys work properly (hitting the key makes the corresponding number appear, except for the 9/Page Up key. When the number 9 numpad key is hit nothing happens. Now this is really weird considering that the switch seems to work fine, when NumLock is off hitting that key performs a page up wich is normal behavior. But with NumLock on, the key does nothing.

I have sent in two tickets to Logitech, one a week old now and the other a couple days old. In addition I have posted to the logitech support forum and have been ignored completely in both tickets and the post.

Other Thoughts: I like the keyboard, but I am hating Logitech support for essentially not existing, this is not what I expect from a name brand like Logitech and it is rapidly making me consider other vendors for my accessories.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Keyboard

Pros: Excellent Mechanical, Good adjustable light system for the arrow and WASD and another for everything else, good volume wheel and little bit weird to control but still very solid.

Switches are excellent no noise when and soft. but still good quality. 0 noise when typing (important thing for me to listen my thoughts instead of my keys). Very responsive on time for those microsecond between killing someone in a game or be kill.

I would recommend the next but: if you

In my mind a excellent mechanical keyboard, take care of it and it last forever. I guarantee you: you probably will change for something new before it break down on you.

Cons: It is not soft in the key but that's what make it last and mechanical, for school/work purposes i would not recommend to write an 3000 pages essay/report on it.

Other Thoughts: Awful orange color on the G-Keys, doesn't match with anything. but it should not be something to stop you from buy it. I did get it and and kind of live with it.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm inpressed

Pros: Great feedback and classic feel. The lighting is amazing. When I play games I can feel the difference.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: People made me wary of buying this product but when I got it, it seemed more intact and sturdy than what people were saying but maybe I'm just crazy.

2 out of 5 eggsProbably Best to Avoid

Pros: Feels responsive and is relatively quiet for a mechanical keyboard.

The extra USB plugs were nice, but I hardly used them.

Cons: Keycaps break. They will break with no exception. Logitech will not just send you replacement keycaps.

Other Thoughts: Either or, but the backlights are really bright at the highest settings. So you need to turn them back a little or you may blind yourself during the night.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid!!

Pros: - Switches feel great.
- Looks nice.
- Volume control is good.
- Switch noise is acceptably quiet.
- Extra USB plugin in the back for your mouse.
- Good build quality.. except...

Cons: - The key caps are complete at total garbage.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for home and liked it so much that I bought another for work. Now I'm wishing I hadn't. I have 3 broken key caps at home and 2 at work. From the looks of everything I'm seeing online, that trend is just going to continue over time. Many, many people are reporting that the stems in the key caps for this keyboard are cracking and falling apart, causing the keys to fall off of the keyboard.

I really want to like this keyboard, but this is completely unacceptable. Logitech has provided no satisfactory answer or solution for this problem. Check Google for "G710 broken key caps" and look at the 10+ page forum post on Logitech's forums regarding this issue.

Anyway, in short: this is a nice keyboard, but the terrible key caps absolutely will start to fail given time. I would strongly suggest that people interested in a mechanical keyboard look elsewhere unless Logitech comes up with an acceptable solution. So far all I've seen is that they're asking people to ship their keyboards back to Logitech for a replacement (that includes the same flimsy key caps).

2 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard, garbage keycaps

Pros: In terms of comfort and the response to key presses, this IS one of the more comfortable keyboards I've used in the many years I've been using computer keyboards. The adjustable lighting is nice, and game mode that disables the Windows key is a nice, useful feature as well.

Cons: As comfortable as it is, these keyboards are absolute garbage when it comes to quality. I have purchased THREE of these, and all three have had problems within a few months. I initially ordered two, one for myself and one for the female spousal unit. Out of the box, her keyboard's F through apostrophe row of keys would not light up (she didn't want the lit keys anyway, so we didn't bother returning it). Reading the other reviews, I see that this is not a unique occurrence. Mine worked fine.

About three months after purchase, my first key broke off. The plastic connector on the bottom of the key splintered and part of it snapped off, making the key wobbly, and unable to stay connected to the keyboard. A couple months later, another key did the same thing (right CTRL first, then 'J' - former was heavily used, the latter was not). I ignored the CTRL key and let it sit there wobbly, and just stopped using it regularly. When J broke, I demoted it to the spare keyboard for the closet and household servers.

Since the female unit's keyboard was fine with regard to keys, I figured maybe I had an old/bad one. Because I really DO like typing with it, and find it comfortable, I decided to give it another chance, and ordered the third. Some months later, I have now come back to write this review because keyboard #3 because just got its first broken key.

Other Thoughts: I'm not really hard on keyboards, and have actually become less hard on keyboards over the years (less 'enthusiastic' gaming). No dropping, shaking, hitting, nor anything that I would expect to damage a non-gaming keyboard, let alone one meant for gaming. I have NEVER had a keyboard (expensive gaming or a cheap OEM) break keys like this (nor have a backlit keyboard come broken out of the box).

If you want to buy replacement keycaps, or have Cherry MX keycaps just laying around, you'll probably enjoy using this keyboard. If you want a keyboard with keys that aren't cheap pieces of garbage, look somewhere else. Logitech QA and quality when it comes to this keyboard is seriously lacking.

3 out of 5 eggsOK but cheaply made

Pros: Lighted keys
Variable lighting
Decent ergonomics
Cherry MX brown switches

Cons: Keys are cheap and break easily (see other thoughts)
Flimsy wrist support
Volume control wheel sometimes doesn't work

Other Thoughts: I really wanted to love this board, but the overall cheap quality of it kept me from doing so. The keys are such poor quality they keep breaking and coming off while I'm trying to type or play games. I already lost the ESC key after it broke a couple months after I got it. Since then, some of the other keys come off at random. I've owned many mice and keyboards from Logitech and they were all bulletproof. Then I bought this one and it's the first time I've been disappointed by a product from them. Just be aware of this should you choose this board.

4 out of 5 eggsThis Keyboard is awesome!!!!

Pros: 1. Typing feels really good on this keyboard.

2. The on the fly macro actually records delays unlike most other on the fly recording macro devices.

3. The customization of this keyboard is better than anything I've ever seen.

Cons: The only major con I have against this keyboard is the software. As of now, it seems kind of buggy. First, the software for the keyboard is installed when you get the updated drivers. You won't even realize you have the basic customization software unless you actually check your program files and look for ROCCAT. The basic software gets installed with the driver. Additionally, it seems buggy right now. Once you close the software, you can no longer open it unless you reboot. Also, I'm having issues trying to get some of the macro stuff to work properly. The macro will run a full loop, but that seems to be all that the software can handle right now. I ask it to run multiple loops, but it always only runs 1.

Other Thoughts: I got this keyboard due to a few reasons. First, I have been wanting a mechanical keyboard for a while now. My previous two keyboards where a Logitech G-19 and Razor DeathStalker Ultimate. This keyboard is waaaaay better than both of them. Its better in terms of customization and feel. To me, both the Razor DeathStalker and Logitech G19 are more about gimmicks than actually a keyboard. Their LCD's are nice, but the companies aren't really coming out with any software to support those products. Roccat on the other hand is allowing their software to be developed via open source, which means anyone can try to develop anything they want.

Anyways, google Roccat Power Grid if you're wondering more about some of the customization.

2 out of 5 eggsNice Feel, Unforgivably Cheap Keycaps

Pros: MX Cherry brown switches provide good feedback and responsiveness.
Decent customization options for lighting and macro keys.

Cons: Multiple keycaps started breaking after about 6 months of use. I don't type with an abnormal amount of force, and this is the first keyboard I've owned in 25+ years of PC use where the keys have actually broke from normal use. This seems to be a somewhat common problem with this keyboard, and Logitech wanted me to send the whole thing in for warranty support instead of just sending two replacement key caps, so I didn't bother.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely not worth the money for a keyboard failing in it's most basic function. Unless Logitech has expressly stated that the build quality of the keycaps has been revised, DO NOT BUY.
