5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Great Keyboard! Backlit keys are not bright but very readable in many light levels. LCD screen comes with a few apps and there are more you can DL online. (not from Logitech) I use it often with Warcraft and Ventrilo. Programmable keys are great but as noted before they are not loaded till you log in, three memory buttons you can set different colors for. Sound controls are useful, TWO USB ports (2.0) are easily accessible. The key feel is great for me, I tend to hit them kinda hard and I never have problems. Use the LCD screen for system info, clocks, World of Warcraft info, Guild Wars 2 info, Ventrilo and TeamSpeak, Curse Client, Youtube, and have even played movies on it.

Cons: After about a year the USB ports went out but Logitech took good care of the problem and replaced the keyboard. They sent me a new one and I used the box to ship the old one back. They seem to have a call center in India and were a little hard to understand, but they have been great at replacing several different Logitech products that broke on me. Don't know why some reviewers complain about support. They have been good with me and several others I know.

Other Thoughts: No one makes all their products perfect. Bad ones get out there, but I know many people with Logitech brand stuff that have had good support. Long time gamer and I build computers. Logitech is a good company with good products but like all companies, things break. I have broken TWO sets of G35 headsets that have been replaced. Last time they even upgraded me to wireless headset!! (G930) I recommend this keyboard at $145 if you really want good gaming INFO.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat design, poor quality control

Pros: Great gaming features, quick and easy macros, lighting options are great and can be set to change with different games/modes.

Cons: I was a little disappointed to find out that there really isn't a lot of support for the LCD apps. If you want anything decent, you will have to build your own app. After about 3 weeks of light use, this board just gave up on me completely. It started with the E and F keys, so I unplugged in and plugged it back in, then it just started to repeat [RMB\\ over and over whenever a text input box was opened. Completely unresponsive and useless.

Other Thoughts: I wish this thing would have lasted. I did like the customization options, but I will probably go with a Razor Blackwidow board once I get the refund on this one. The LCD screen on this is pretty much useless to me, since I don't feel like going to the trouble of making my own apps for it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Got it 45% off best deal ever, to replace a super loud Razer Chroma.
Quiet Keys, Nice Illumination (Numbers and Symbols are lit) customization is nearly endless, so much so I have no idea what I am doing with it. USB pass-through is nice.

Cons: Deducted an Egg for 2 reasons:
The volume roll feels cheap, and its a little uneven when I scroll it up or down (this is me being picky, but at full price that would be something I might be displeased about)
More importantly on day 4 I spilled about 2 oz of water on my keyboard and it shorted and would alternately spam 2 characters as long as it was plugged into my machine. The fix was taking the keyboard apart down to the clear plastic board and final flexible circuit board. Had to carefully dry it off and wick up the remaining moisture. put it back together and everything worked fine again. (this was entirely my fault, but at the same time, usually there are water holes on the bottom to let it filter out.)

Other Thoughts: I think its a rockin' keyboard, and despite the setback early on, I am excited to get as much use out of it as I did with my old Razer Tarantula. Wish it had headphone and mic jacks. Buy this when they put it on sale!

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good!

Pros: This is by far the best keyboard I have ever used. Many people are stating in their reviews that there is not much use for the LCD due to lack of apps. Logitech has an open SDK (software development kit) which means anyone can make apps for this. Within the first day with minimal research I can across AIDA64 Extreme. With this you basically can make your own app for the lcd screen and put whatever you want including CPU & RAM usage, Temperatures for pretty much everything (cpu, gpu, ram, motherboard, etc.) Fan speed monitors, and even utilization for the individual cores assuming you are running a multicore processor. Look it up online, its a great app. As far as the keyboard iteself it feels great and the materials especially on the palm rest are great as well. Setup was easy enough just download a program from logitech.com I have been using Logitech gaming keyboards since the first G15. I had both generations of the g15 (first was large with 18 g keys, second had 6), and was very happy with them, still use one of them. I have been very happy with logitech products as far as keyboard and mice go, just looking for an upgrade and got thie for $100 off! I am writing this review after only having it for a few days so can't accurately write a full review as far as longevity is concerned, but if it was built like my previous 2 G Series logitech keyboards, i should have no issues at all. Some people leave reviews with 1 egg because product arrives DOA. This happens with every product from every manufacturer, just part of the process sometimes quality control misses something and should not be an issue returning anything, and you shouldn't leave a bad review because of that unless they give you **** about returning something within the return period (which new egg usaully doesn't do). When you get this keyboard just look up AIDA 64 and download it and spend a little time making what you want and you'll be happy!

Cons: Spacebar seems to be a little squeaky, brand new maybe needs to be broken in.

Other Thoughts: Comparing this to other manufactures keyboard they cant touch this keyboard. Open community SDK makes the possibilities for the LCD Endless. Custom color LED lights can make the keyboard any color to match your setup

5 out of 5 eggsI Say Again

Pros: I say again, this is a very good keyboard. I have not had one problem with it, none, zero. It is programmable in many ways, more ways than I use. The LCD, when combined with "AIDA64 Extreme" presents me with real-time temp, voltage, fan speed and memory data for cpu, gpu, mobo, hdd, and many other items I do not use. I could not live without the illuminated keys, which are bright enough and colorful enuf for me. USB slots. Wired. The volume and mute controls for my Logitech speakers works. Macros for gaming work.

Cons: I have none to report. I must emphasize the reported negatives of others is un-understandable to me.

Other Thoughts: I purchased as a replacement for an older version, and for the sole purpose of being able to do real-time monitoring of temps and other parameters while gaming. The other benefits and qualities of this keyboard have not ever made me regret the monetary outlay I had to make in order to possess and use this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, so far!

Pros: This new unit is quite nice. Surprisingly, the LCD screen really impressed me. There are pre-loaded nifty little in-game data jewels that pop up on it for various games. Teamspeak3 has a cool app for it to that tells you who is speaking in channel and other things. I like it!

The MACRO programmable G Keys are quite thoughtful, as well. I have worked out a few wordy in-game chat messages that I can send without typing in-game and that is quite handy!

So far, I am very happy with this purchase. It was a little pricey for not having all the options I have outlined below in cons, but overall a solid gaming keyboard.

Cons: I am having to get used to typing with the higher rise keys, but I am getting there. The keys are quite responsive for gaming, but my fingers/hands do still seem to tire a bit after many hours of gaming, That is to be expected, I suppose, no matter what one uses in the way of a keyboard.

The back-lighting schemes are cool, but I kind of wish that there was an option to change independent 'zones' of the board to different colors (as is possible with Alienware Commander software).

The Caps Lock and Number Lock keys should have active indicator LEDs built into them (they do not). One must look tot he top right of the board for these indicators.

Other Thoughts: I am a long time gamer, engineer, and hardware junkie. This keyboard was purchased in the hope that it would be a good update from an older wireless Logitech K800 which I passed onto my hubby.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Lighting: Awesome backlighting. It gives a nice soft uninvasive glow and you can make it any Color you want.

Noise: Due to the membrane layout, this keyboard is very quite. Great for people who have thier system set up close to loved ones, not so great for people who want tactile feedback and the infamous clack you here with mechanical keys

LCD Display: This is a niche thing here, its awesome for people who write thier own applets, not so hot for people who are expecting a huge amount of support for it. A lot of Major publishers do support this screen with useful information like stats and maps depending on the game you are playing, but the majority of publishers do not support this, but you can write your own apps for it. Its an awesome idea, i cant count this aginst the keyboard, but i cant really count it for it either. More of a preferance thing i suppose.

Macros: Yes, this is a big one. This key board does sport 12 macro keys and can support up to 6 buttons simultaneously. It may be a little higher but i know for sure 6. If you use macro's at all, this or the g510s will be your best bet if you do not have an advanced gameboard (Think Nostromo, G13, ect...)

Profile Switching: Up to 3 seperate profiles for games, now ill clarify this for people out there, this means you can have all of your games stored in 1 profile, but you could build multiple profiles with seperate layouts for the same game. This kind of feature comes in handy when playing 4x games, and games like battlefield. You can change the layout depending on what you are doing for that moment. So one minute your running and gunning in your squad and the next your driving a tank through the streets, you could set up 2 profiles one for run n gun the other for driving, within the same game and the profile switch is a button away.

Design: It looks good no matter where you put it and with the right backlighting can compliment any set up.

Media Keys: Dedicated media keys are a big plus for me, im a movie kinda guy, and having physical keys makes everything much easier on me, like volume, or pause. you get the idea.

USB Ports: This keyboard has 2 powered usb pass through ports. 2.0 interface.

Size: Im a 6'5" guy and my hands are huge, this keyboard accomodates them very well for long gaming sessions. The wrist rest is very cozy as well.

Cons: Price Tag: This keyboard is a $199.00. This is high for your average Keyboard, especiall if you want Mechanical Keys this might be a bit hard to choke down. I cant knock an egg of for the high cost though because it does have a Full Color screen attached to it. You know exactly what you are getting into here.

Construction: I wish the keyboard was not all plastic. Would be nice to see some aluminum and some weight to it. Thats a personal preferance though and i cant take an egg when i already knew it was all plastic. That being said the keyboard does stay in place. I cant say that weight would really change anything about this board other than make it feel better quality overall.

External Power Source: Everyone complains about this. If you dont want external power for your keyboard and find this to be stupid, then this is not the board for you. The screen is good quality though, so dont mark it off just because it requires some extra juice.

Keys: They feel like mush compared to the old mechanical i used to use, but ill take the quite keys over all else right now anyways.

Other Thoughts: I love the keyboard. You cant ask for much more as a gamer or professional. Some people have certain preferances though that may turn them off to that.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for parts/Learning to use the trash bin.

Pros: -Back-lighting of nearly any color you want.
-Multiple memory profiles.
-On board memory to store profiles.
-Many different functions of the LCD display

Cons: -LCD Stops working and causes the rest of the keyboard, except the function to type, to stop working.
-They didn't fix the problem from the G19 with the G19s. Its inherited.

Other Thoughts: I had a G19 but had to RMA it because it was having an issue where the LCD would cause the keyboard to malfunction. Sometimes the screen would cause a crash like symptom while in use and you cant use the profiles or the macros and the LCD would start flashing.

I RMA'd it and got back a G19s.Later on i now see it inherits the same problem as the G19. It seems to be a wiring issue with the wiring harness in inside the keyboard. Most likely that its over stretched which can happen when you tilt the screen So keeping it stationary will help keep it working for longer.

DO NOT BUY. Unless you need to part it out for some project of yours or you want to learn electronic recycling by doing it yourself. The only use this keyboard has is typing and charging a device with the USB ports. You cant even use the USB ports for viewing your device. Its dependent on the LCD screen working.

AGAIN. DO NOT BUY FOR THE INTENDED GAMING PURPOSE. Get something else that works.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very nice keyboard; comfortable design; backlighting with color customization; has 2 USB slots to plug in additional devices; sturdy design; has macro programming.

Cons: Not really a "con", but I've found that sometimes letters don't register as you're typing (I'm not sure if I just got a defective keyboard or if it's a driver issue so took 1 egg).

Other Thoughts: This keyboard does require a power outlet, as it uses a power supply to power the USB ports and LCD screen. So far I have loved it - and it's sturdy design has held up under daily gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsG19s

Pros: Very nice, sturdy keyboard that is very versatile.

Cons: Since day one the CAPS LOCK indication light has been stuck on. The LCD display..... is not supported at all. The applet package that comes with the keyboard for the LCD is worthless junk.

Other Thoughts: When I got the keyboard it was on sale... I wish I spent the money on something else. It is far from worth $200 considering the LCD has zero support.
