4 out of 5 eggsEasy to use, comfortable, easy to adjust

Pros: The user interface is extremely easy to adjust to your preferences. Setting up different profiles for separate games is easy to complete. Adjusting all the settings (lighting, display, etc.) is easy.
The keyboard has a nice feel to it, the keys are just loud enough to sound like a real keyboard, but not excessively annoying.
Overall, I really enjoy the keyboard!

Cons: Ever since I got the keyboard, the display has chosen to randomly stop working when it feels like it. I've tried many times to figure out what is wrong with it, but have yet to figure out what it is.
The only way I've found to bring it back on is to 1: lock my computer and wait for it to fall asleep, then wake it back up and log on or 2: restart my computer. I don't have to use the display all the time, but it's extremely annoying how it does not work the way I expect it to.

Other Thoughts: Great keyboard, just not fully what I was expecting due to the faulty display.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Versatile software with great functionality - when it works

Cons: Faulty wiring causes some major issues for many customers. There's a wire connecting the LCD that's not properly insulated which causes the LCD to constantly reboot and the G-keys to stop working. It would cost maybe 5 cents to proper insulate that wire. Logitech prefers to deny responsibility for the issue, blaming it on anything from random software to motherboard problems. If you get this issue, don't expect help from Logitech. Instead, you can rely on two dubious methods people have come up with: either physically strike the LCD hard enough to risk breaking it (I have no idea why that works, but plenty of people say it does) or take the keyboard apart and fix the wiring yourself.

Also, the LCD, the selling point of this model, isn't very useful. This simply isn't a very popular keyboard due to its price and that means there are very few people writing apps for its LCD. There's tons of apps for Logitech's black and white LCD keyboards, but very few for the color. The only decent use I've found is watching Youtube on it. Even then, it's an awful small screen for watching videos.

Other Thoughts: I'm 34 and I've been a Logitech customer for life. I would not even consider buying another brand of keyboard or mouse. Needless to say, after wasting hundreds on a top-of-the-line keyboard that's going in the garbage, I will never buy from them again.

4 out of 5 eggsFun, Flashy and Practical

Pros: -Backlit color of my choice
-Logitech Macro Program
-USB hub has it's own power source

Cons: First, the palm rest is super cheap and one of the connectors to the keyboard have already snapped off.
Secondly, and this is the big one, my LED app screen would go on this constant reboot and sometimes it was intermittent but finally it just went on forever. I ended up taking the keyboard apart and found that the wires weren't properly shielded and the LED screen's wires were touching bare neutral wires that go to the keyboard. So I applied some electrical tape and Voila!
-See other thoughts

Other Thoughts: Something to note, i bought this keyboard refurbished so my issue with the LED screen could be a fluke, but thought i might as well mention it. And if you don't have electrical tape lying around because you used to or are an electrician than you can really just use any old tape that will make sure there is no connection between wires.

Pros: No doubt, this keyboard is awesome with the LCD screen, and colorful dynamic back lighting. Logitech is top notch company though, I will still buy their products in the future. They stand behind them and will replace any without much guff. I love using MariuZ G19 Winamp App to populate the screen with CD art. I love all the hotkeys, they are in the right place (play/pause in the upper most top right of the keyboard, volume is right under it). I love that.

Cons: I had the G19 for almost 3 years then it died and I received this "S" version at end of July 2014 from Logitech directly as a replacement. By the end of the year 4-5 months later) the paint was wearing off the wrist pad on both sides. This G19S was sort of a matte black which looks and feels awesome, better than the slick plastic of the G19, however it is wearing off for sure. It's just a coating. And in January 2015 the paint was wearing off the spacebar, chipping off where I press it, displaying the colored backlighting behind. I wouldn't even care if this keyboard cost $10, and would even expect it, bit a $200 keyboard? I am certain you will start to see long term reviewed echo these problems. Maybe they'll recall the wrist pad with better paint.

Other Thoughts: Yeah, the LCD screen software is a bit buggy too, it usually crashed once a day but I don't really care or utilize that much.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Great Keyboard! Backlit keys are not bright but very readable in many light levels. LCD screen comes with a few apps and there are more you can DL online. (not from Logitech) I use it often with Warcraft and Ventrilo. Programmable keys are great but as noted before they are not loaded till you log in, three memory buttons you can set different colors for. Sound controls are useful, TWO USB ports (2.0) are easily accessible. The key feel is great for me, I tend to hit them kinda hard and I never have problems. Use the LCD screen for system info, clocks, World of Warcraft info, Guild Wars 2 info, Ventrilo and TeamSpeak, Curse Client, Youtube, and have even played movies on it.

Cons: After about a year the USB ports went out but Logitech took good care of the problem and replaced the keyboard. They sent me a new one and I used the box to ship the old one back. They seem to have a call center in India and were a little hard to understand, but they have been great at replacing several different Logitech products that broke on me. Don't know why some reviewers complain about support. They have been good with me and several others I know.

Other Thoughts: No one makes all their products perfect. Bad ones get out there, but I know many people with Logitech brand stuff that have had good support. Long time gamer and I build computers. Logitech is a good company with good products but like all companies, things break. I have broken TWO sets of G35 headsets that have been replaced. Last time they even upgraded me to wireless headset!! (G930) I recommend this keyboard at $145 if you really want good gaming INFO.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat design, poor quality control

Pros: Great gaming features, quick and easy macros, lighting options are great and can be set to change with different games/modes.

Cons: I was a little disappointed to find out that there really isn't a lot of support for the LCD apps. If you want anything decent, you will have to build your own app. After about 3 weeks of light use, this board just gave up on me completely. It started with the E and F keys, so I unplugged in and plugged it back in, then it just started to repeat [RMB\\ over and over whenever a text input box was opened. Completely unresponsive and useless.

Other Thoughts: I wish this thing would have lasted. I did like the customization options, but I will probably go with a Razor Blackwidow board once I get the refund on this one. The LCD screen on this is pretty much useless to me, since I don't feel like going to the trouble of making my own apps for it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Got it 45% off best deal ever, to replace a super loud Razer Chroma.
Quiet Keys, Nice Illumination (Numbers and Symbols are lit) customization is nearly endless, so much so I have no idea what I am doing with it. USB pass-through is nice.

Cons: Deducted an Egg for 2 reasons:
The volume roll feels cheap, and its a little uneven when I scroll it up or down (this is me being picky, but at full price that would be something I might be displeased about)
More importantly on day 4 I spilled about 2 oz of water on my keyboard and it shorted and would alternately spam 2 characters as long as it was plugged into my machine. The fix was taking the keyboard apart down to the clear plastic board and final flexible circuit board. Had to carefully dry it off and wick up the remaining moisture. put it back together and everything worked fine again. (this was entirely my fault, but at the same time, usually there are water holes on the bottom to let it filter out.)

Other Thoughts: I think its a rockin' keyboard, and despite the setback early on, I am excited to get as much use out of it as I did with my old Razer Tarantula. Wish it had headphone and mic jacks. Buy this when they put it on sale!

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good!

Pros: This is by far the best keyboard I have ever used. Many people are stating in their reviews that there is not much use for the LCD due to lack of apps. Logitech has an open SDK (software development kit) which means anyone can make apps for this. Within the first day with minimal research I can across AIDA64 Extreme. With this you basically can make your own app for the lcd screen and put whatever you want including CPU & RAM usage, Temperatures for pretty much everything (cpu, gpu, ram, motherboard, etc.) Fan speed monitors, and even utilization for the individual cores assuming you are running a multicore processor. Look it up online, its a great app. As far as the keyboard iteself it feels great and the materials especially on the palm rest are great as well. Setup was easy enough just download a program from I have been using Logitech gaming keyboards since the first G15. I had both generations of the g15 (first was large with 18 g keys, second had 6), and was very happy with them, still use one of them. I have been very happy with logitech products as far as keyboard and mice go, just looking for an upgrade and got thie for $100 off! I am writing this review after only having it for a few days so can't accurately write a full review as far as longevity is concerned, but if it was built like my previous 2 G Series logitech keyboards, i should have no issues at all. Some people leave reviews with 1 egg because product arrives DOA. This happens with every product from every manufacturer, just part of the process sometimes quality control misses something and should not be an issue returning anything, and you shouldn't leave a bad review because of that unless they give you **** about returning something within the return period (which new egg usaully doesn't do). When you get this keyboard just look up AIDA 64 and download it and spend a little time making what you want and you'll be happy!

Cons: Spacebar seems to be a little squeaky, brand new maybe needs to be broken in.

Other Thoughts: Comparing this to other manufactures keyboard they cant touch this keyboard. Open community SDK makes the possibilities for the LCD Endless. Custom color LED lights can make the keyboard any color to match your setup

5 out of 5 eggsI Say Again

Pros: I say again, this is a very good keyboard. I have not had one problem with it, none, zero. It is programmable in many ways, more ways than I use. The LCD, when combined with "AIDA64 Extreme" presents me with real-time temp, voltage, fan speed and memory data for cpu, gpu, mobo, hdd, and many other items I do not use. I could not live without the illuminated keys, which are bright enough and colorful enuf for me. USB slots. Wired. The volume and mute controls for my Logitech speakers works. Macros for gaming work.

Cons: I have none to report. I must emphasize the reported negatives of others is un-understandable to me.

Other Thoughts: I purchased as a replacement for an older version, and for the sole purpose of being able to do real-time monitoring of temps and other parameters while gaming. The other benefits and qualities of this keyboard have not ever made me regret the monetary outlay I had to make in order to possess and use this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, so far!

Pros: This new unit is quite nice. Surprisingly, the LCD screen really impressed me. There are pre-loaded nifty little in-game data jewels that pop up on it for various games. Teamspeak3 has a cool app for it to that tells you who is speaking in channel and other things. I like it!

The MACRO programmable G Keys are quite thoughtful, as well. I have worked out a few wordy in-game chat messages that I can send without typing in-game and that is quite handy!

So far, I am very happy with this purchase. It was a little pricey for not having all the options I have outlined below in cons, but overall a solid gaming keyboard.

Cons: I am having to get used to typing with the higher rise keys, but I am getting there. The keys are quite responsive for gaming, but my fingers/hands do still seem to tire a bit after many hours of gaming, That is to be expected, I suppose, no matter what one uses in the way of a keyboard.

The back-lighting schemes are cool, but I kind of wish that there was an option to change independent 'zones' of the board to different colors (as is possible with Alienware Commander software).

The Caps Lock and Number Lock keys should have active indicator LEDs built into them (they do not). One must look tot he top right of the board for these indicators.

Other Thoughts: I am a long time gamer, engineer, and hardware junkie. This keyboard was purchased in the hope that it would be a good update from an older wireless Logitech K800 which I passed onto my hubby.
