5 out of 5 eggsWonderfully clickity-clackety, good mechanical keyboard

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: - lights up, can control WASD lights and the lights for the rest of the keyboard independently
- Strong mechanical feel, you can hear every key as you use it

Cons: - very, very, very loud
- not great for any public space or a job because it will annoy the people around you
- uses 2 USB slots and not one

Other Thoughts: - would recommend for its good tactile feel
- you may want to consider installing soundproofing though

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Mechanical Keyboard

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: - Cherry MX Blue Mechanical Switches - Very satisfying to type on.
- Backlit with multiple brightness settings without installing software.
- Media keys including nice rolling bar style volume dial.
- Windows key lock out toggle.
- USB Pass-through.
- 6 Macro keys.
- Logitech build quality.

Cons: - Cherry MX Blue Mechanical Switches - VERY loud.
- No audio pass-through for Mic / Headset.
- Media keys are not mechanical.
- No Hardware toggle for 6 or N-Key rollover.
- Software does not have an automatic sleep setting for the LEDs.
- There is not a single on/off switch for all the LEDs at once, rather a brightness toggle for both zones that needs to be pressed several times to turn off the lights - and even with the LED backlights turned off, num lock, etc. stay lit at full brightness.
- Wrist rest feels cheap compared to the rest of the keyboard.
- Price is a little high for the features you get.

Other Thoughts: This is a great keyboard. I recently experimented with several mechanical keyboards and found this one to be among the top in checking the features i want, but it still did not quite have everything. I would recommend this more for someone more concerned with productivity than gaming, as they loud clicking nature of the MX Blue switches are awesome for typing long e-mails etc. on, but the keyboard doesn't quite fill out all the check boxes for what i expect in a gaming keyboard at this price range. The MX Blue switches are still great in games, but they can be a little loud and sometimes distracting. People in a room next door WILL hear you typing.

I would also think this was a perfect keyboard for office use, however the "gaming" style paint job would make it stand out a little in an office. Probably a good fit for someone who games occasionally, but is also using their keyboard for productivity as well. My typing seemed to be most accurate on the Logitech G710 over other rubber dome and even other mechanical keyboards.

If you want fancier LED backlighting, auidio pass-through, or the peace of mind of being able to toggle the keyboard out of n-key mode to ensure it works in older BIOSes, there are better options out there. If those things don't matter, and you prefer a highly clicky sounding keyboard, this is a great option - and if you are only gaming, the G710+ is the same keyboard but with MX Brown switches instead, which seem to be a little bit better for gaming and not making your neighbors angry.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for gaming and more

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: -Programmable keys for macros and gaming
- Logitech build quality

Cons: -clickety-clackety keys.

Other Thoughts: Do you want complete control over anything your keyboard can do while also simulating the keyboard sounds from Splinter Cell? This is the keyboard for you. You can use the Logitech G series software (which is also compatible with my G602 mouse) to create profiles for games and software. This is especially useful for MMORPG gamers, but even more useful for graphics professionals. Setting up profiles for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Maya is a great way to streamline aspects of your workflow.

However, this model with the blue trim has different key return than the orange trimmed one and IS LOUD AS HELL, but not in a bad way. More in a "I-feel-like-Hugh-Jackman-in-Swordfish" kind of way.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for your buck

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: Very fun to use, Mechanical Keyboards are far better than the alternatives. backlight adjusts to your preference.

Scrolling sound control key is nice because it controls master desktop sound.

specific M keys to turn off the [Windows] button for gaming so you wont minimize during gaming.

overall very nice

Cons: Key spacing is a little odd. May take some getting used to.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: Mechanical, backlight, usb.

Cons: Price on newegg higher than brick and mortar local stores near you.

Other Thoughts: I recommend searching best brick and mortar buy website for a much better price. I am disappointed in what once was my favorite site for PC stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Keyboard

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: -It lights up and the brightness can be controlled.
-Programmable hot keys {G1-6 with M1-3, 18 different hot keys}
-Roll bar volume control
-Cherry MX Blue switches
-Full sized keyboard
-Can make W, A, S, D keys and Up, Down, Left, Right keys brighter than the rest of the board.
-One button Capture mode for live streaming or screen shots (Needs software from Logitech to uses)
-Smooth key pressing with use unlike membrane keyboards.
-Value of the keyboard is actually worth it. I have seen other gamers and programmers use this keyboard before.
-Heavy and does not move around easy
-Came with the wrist rest to make it more ergonomic compared to my other Keyboard.

Cons: -Only comes in one color (White, so I modded my inside of my case with white LEDs to match the keyboard.)
-Extremely hard to find replacement keys or custom keys to use the light up feature for the letters on the keyboard.
(I am still on the hunt to find keys of the same style to replace to make it more customizable)
-Clicks slightly loud for my liking and had to buy pads for the keys to make them more quiet.
-W, A, S, D and Up, Down, Left, Right keys are a slightly lighter gray than the black switches which in my dim lit computer room makes it tricky to notice them without adjusting the brightness for them to spot them at a glance.
-Pulls more power than a normal keyboard because of the LEDs and the LEDs are not RGB so you cannot adjust the color set up.
-MY BIGGEST QUALM is when I set the hotkey for my internet browser it always brings me to the logitech page. I cannot remove the programming to it yet because I cannot find the root cause to why it does that. Sometimes I would like to hit the hotkey just to use google or play internet radio while I am playing a game with very little SFX. The logitech webpage is useless because I do not intend on browsing their collection of stuff.

Other Thoughts: I really enjoy using this keyboard, My old did not fit me ergonomically and playing hours at a time on Battlefield 4, or CS:GO would result in my hands cramping up. I have not noticed it because they keys are fast in response and I do not need to push down nearly as hard to activate the key switches.
I really wish Logitech would sell replacement keys or customizing keys to make this keyboard more personal to me. I miss my old rainbow color keyboard layout.
I have read other reviews about keys being cracked or breaking on use. I think these users may be abusing their hardware and not taking care of their own products they bought. But once again with the looking for replacement keys, I have found some but none of them will let me use light through the keyboard to use the LED set up. I do enjoy that the keys do not have light come up from between them which makes a clean look to the keyboard.
I would suggest this keyboard to anyone who is looking for an affordable and decent Mechanical Keyboard, I love tickling the plastic on this keyboard and it makes my gaming a lot more enjoyable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: I wasn't too sure how'd I'd like going back to a manual keyboard after years of using the cheapo ones. It only took me a couple weeks to fall in love with it. It's been great for gaming and just general use too.

Cons: none,

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE LOVE LOVE

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: -Mechanical, need I say more?
-Very fast response time.
-My typing speed within the first time using this, went from at least 40 WPM to 65+ WPM with hardly any error.
-Lighting is awesome
-Very well built

Cons: -The palm rest can be quite annoying, when you lift the keyboard to take out the usb on the back side the palm rest will most likely fall off. It's held on my two small click in tabs, however it does make for an easy removal if you don't want it on there anyways. This does not effect performance and durability of the keyboard though.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't recommend any other keyboard. Giving 5 eggs for sure!

5 out of 5 eggsamazing mechanical keyboard

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: this keyboard is great. the keys are very responsive and it has that tactile response that you'll most likely want to feel.

Cons: the only con is this type uses the cherry mx blue witch are the kinda loud ones but that's not a con for me because I love the loud sound of them and it is the main reason I bought it. but keep in mind your parents might not like the loud noise.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty nice.

This review is from: Logitech G710 Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: I like the feel of it and the color scheme. Adjustable back lighting is cool with a separate lighting switch for WASD. The keys are responsive, and the G keys are easy to use and switch between.

Cons: Back lighting sometimes cycles off for no apparent reason.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend.
