5 out of 5 eggsCM QUICKFIRE STORM Rapid

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: Pretty study Keyboard; heavier than most keyboards I use
Love the sound of the Cherry MX Blues
Plastic grip at the bottom is very helpful so the keyboard doesn't slip around
Fast delivery time

Cons: None yet, and I hope that it stays that way :)

Would've liked the CM to include backlight, but alas you can't get everything in life.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: - Cherry MX Blue Switches.
- Has a Gaming Mode to disable Windows button.
- Nice font and comes with orange keycaps.
- Its a Ten-keyless mechanical keyboard.
- Price is Cheap for a mechanical

Cons: - Little too small than what I was expecting, but not really a con.

- No backlights, but the price makes up for it, overall a great keyboard. I am a happy buyer.

Other Thoughts: None

4 out of 5 eggsNearly Perfect Keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: -Price
-Cherry MX Switches
-Made by Costar (Good Keyboard OEM)
-Standard US layout
-Clean look
-Windows key lock function if you don't need windows keys, two functioning windows key if you need them
-Media keys
-Nice soft touch plastic on case and the keys
-Laser printed keys
-Only one CoolerMaster logo
-Keycap puller and extra keycaps inclided
-Removable cord hidden underneath the keyboard

Cons: -Some switch inconsistency, my down arrow key has a very weak click, my F12 key has almost no click at all (feels like a broken switch), luckily the rest of the switches feel fine
-Ugly keycap font, this is subjective but I find the font harsh and hard to look at

Other Thoughts: Great entry level Cherry TKL keyboard. The quality is not entry level as this is a Costar keyboard and is finished very nicely.

For the price you could forgive some of the key inconsistency.

I use it for work and not gaming so I like the clean look of the keyboard, although it's not my favourite type of font.

5 out of 5 eggsgood entry level keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: Great keyboard first mechanical keyboard that i ever tried with blue switches after my blackwidow ultimate failed on me i didnt have a big budget at the moment for another fancy keyboard but this works great i love typing on genuine switches a bit more there lighter and more consistant feeling all around.

Cons: i liked the cm storm logos on the original version wish it would of came with those 2 other caps but its not a big deal as you can buy keycap sets for this keyboard because it doesnt have crazy length keys or anything
rubber feet would be nice

Other Thoughts: overall great 80 dollars seems a little bit high to me still but it is genuine cherry switches for 10-20 dollars more with the newegg sales you could get a keyboard with some more options like leds etc but in this price area and how nice the keyboard is a small footprint i would recommend it

5 out of 5 eggsMy Favorite Computing Purchase

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: Solid Construction
Cherry MX Blues are so satisfying to type on
Compact size makes it easy to transport

Cons: No Dip Switches
Keycaps are a little cheap

Other Thoughts: I carry this keyboard back and forth to work everyday. I have done this for 2 years now. This keyboard has held up without any issues.

I would recommend replacing the keycaps. I have vortex pbt keycaps which can be found on various websites for under $30.

If you work in a cubicle or open floor office, I would recommend installing o-rings on the bottoms of your keycaps so your co-workers/friends do not murder from the sound this board creates.

For the price this keyboard is amazing. I would recommend to anyone looking for a mechanical keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsMechanical so good

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: -sturdy/durable
-high quality
-very small takes up little space
-very comfortable
-i like the red replacement wasd keys

Cons: -none

Other Thoughts: This is my first mechanical keyboard and I love it. The sound of the cherry mx blues is oddly satisfying. This keyboard is a little tank. I threw it at my wall drunk one night (don't ask why) and it still looks new. Wall not so much.

4 out of 5 eggsGood well priced TKL mechanical kb

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue Switches

Pros: The keyboard has genuine Cherry MX Blue keys not clones and is decently priced. Keys provide tactile and audible feedback which is great for typing. TKL layout is really a bonus for me as I have no need for a TK keyboard and the lack of a numpad brings your mouse in closer which is more ergonomic.

They keyboard has a nice solid feel to it and does not move around. The design is straightforward and uses normal looking fonts for the keys unlike the Razor.

The capslock, scrlk, and windows lock keys have bright red leds so you will not be leaving them on accidentally.

Comes with keypuller and red optional WSAD key in red if you want to replace the standard black ones.

This is available with key backlighting for a higher price which might be useful if you are willing or unable to learn how to type or if you are in a cave.

Cons: It doesn't have any Apple-specific keys. Wait, this is the Cons section. My bad.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a Razer BlackWidow Tournament TKL unit that features their "Green" Cherry MX Blue clone keys. The Razer was fine for a while but much noisier than MX Blues - and people think MX Blues are noisy. I liked the sound and the keyboard overall except some of the keys stopped making any noise at all, then they would make noise, and feedback was notably inconsistent between some of the keys. I could have replaced it instead of having it returned but decided to just go back to a known quantity.
