5 out of 5 eggsPretty good keyboard for the price

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: - Sounds nice
- Small keyboard which is good for dota games to have a lot of keys close

Cons: - spacebar isn't clicky like the other keys, not sure if it's intentional

Other Thoughts: shipping was relatively fast, ordered on a monday, received on a thursday at 1 pm, distance between factory and my house was approx. 500 km

5 out of 5 eggsWow! Much nicer than expected

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: I just picked this up last week and I'm very impressed with the build quality. I moving from a KB talking race 75% which is a highend Taiwanese compact keyboard and this new CM keyboard is much much better in build quality.

The keyboard is heavy and feels very very solid in it's construction. The backlighting is very strong at max settings. The Cherry mx Browns feel great coming from Cherry blues. I'm actually glad I went with the browns this time.

Cons: It has a numpad......something I simply don't need but the keyboard is still very compact compared to a fullsize.

4 out of 5 eggsClickity Clack

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: I wanted to try out mechanical keyboards and this by far is such a better typing experience. I sat around 100WPM and this boosted me to 110WPM and it has a very nice feel. See Cons.

Cons: Only complaint is the space bar started squeaking after moderate use, looked around for a solution and got it back to its normal sound.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent compact mechanical keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: Cherry MX Brown Switches
White LED to match that color scheme
White backing behind keys to enhance lighting effect
Nice bright LEDs with available pulsing lighting effect
Numpad! On a compact size keyboard
Impeccable build quality

Cons: Arrow keys are within numpad. This might be detrimental to some
I personally would have preferred a different font on the keycaps, but this is the CM Storm signature font for their keyboards.

Other Thoughts: I have been waiting for the Quickfire TK - Cherry MX Brown w/ White LED version - to come in stock for weeks. From Newegg to Best Buy to B&H, this keyboard has been backordered for SO long. I would not settle with any other keyboard. Why? Because this is the only keyboard in the market that has the small form factor of the CM Storm Quickfire line as well as a numpad. I absolutely needed a numpad for daily use, but seeing as this keyboard was unavailable for so long, I was so close to settling with the newer Quickfire Rapid-I (which is a tenkeyless keyboard with flashy lighting effects).

Thus, when I finally saw it available on Newegg two days ago, I was so excited. And my expectations when I received it were high. My other desktop arrangement at home features a Corsair Vengeance K70 Cherry MX Red with Red Backlight Keyboard. I like the seamless light feeling of the Cherry MX Reds, but for my dorm room setup (which is why I purchased the Quickfire TK) I was eager to try a new switch.

I can 100% with confidence say that now I prefer the Cherry MX Browns. The Brown switches don't have a loud clack so they won't wake your roommate, girlfriend, or parents. They feel awesome with the subtle feedback when hitting the actuation point. The Quickfire TK has amazing build quality in that it feels heavy and substantial. The keycaps are great, and the backlighting is fantastic. The levels range from just right to really bright, and I love the pulsing light mode that matches my Steelseries Sensei mouse LED. I am sure the CM Storm line of mechanical keyboards all stick to this quality. If you are in the market for a mechanical keyboard go for a CM Storm keyboard. You won't be disappointed.

If you are in the market for a compact size, numpad featuring, LED backlit keyboard - then the Quickfire TK is where it's at. There are multiple options when it comes to backlighting and switches, so check it out!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: The lights on this keyboard are really nice. you can choose to have just wasd or the entire keyboard lit with 3 brightness levels. Also, the lack of arrow keys is not a big deal b/c u can turn on numlock and u have the 4 arrow keys there. I use this to play League of legends as well as other random FPS. The numlock keys work for minimap movement and the mechanical keys are great. Sry for bad englado. Peace

Cons: Non yet

Other Thoughts: Shortish cord but if you need a longer one it is modular... or interchangeable with a longer one

5 out of 5 eggsSolid quality, value, and performance.

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: After a month of use, I’ve come to really like this keyboard. After using the Leopold, the keys didn’t feel as nice, maybe a bit cheaper? Truth is, the Leopold wasn’t backlit, and I understand they keys have to be a different material in order for it to be backlit. With that said, after a bit, I think the CM’s keys feel pretty luxurious with a hint of soft touch, especially for a backlit keyboard. My old Eclipse and X4’s keys didn’t feel as nice, and also the surfaces would slowly scratch away from normal usage, causing light to show through. The CM’s keys stay in good condition. I also really like the font, it looks very modern and cool. It’s very similar to the font that the Titanfall logo uses.

Cons: The backlight can be slightly overpowering, especially in the dark, even at the lowest setting. Being white, you get the full spectrum of visible light. I can’t speak for the red and the blue backlit version, but I suspect they are not as glaring. I’ve gotten used to it, but beware when you try to pull off a key with the backlight on. It’s bright enough to daze your eyes! The build quality is great, it only bends very slightly, and the plastic can flex just a little bit with enough pressure. That’s a bit more than the Leopold, but much, much less than my Eclipse and X4, but, very permissible, considering the price and specs. The feature combining the numpad and arrow keys is okay. I really wanted a compact keyboard, so there were few choices in the matter. Switching between the 2 functions is a decent compromise at best. Sometimes is a chore, but I think it’s better than not having that function at all.

Other Thoughts: I put a lot of research into purchasing a new keyboard that I’d use for gaming. This one mostly fit the bill. My past keyboards were a regular membrane keyboard, Saitek Eclipse, Microsoft Sidewinder X4, and a Leopold Tenkeyless /w blue Cherry MX Blue switches. My requirements for a new keyboard were:

1. Compactness – Because I game, my mouse hand tends to bump into the left side of my other full-sized keyboard and I run out of space. Annoying in fps’s when I’m tracking a person and then WALL.
2. Volume control – I don’t have a dial for my speakers, and I hate having to hunt for the volume control in the lower panel to adjust. Now, this is not so important, as I’ve found a program that toggles your mouse wheel into volume control with the win key. (3rvx)
3. Backlit – I consume media and game in the dark if I can. Sometimes I’ll chat in between and it can be hard to get to home row in the dark.
4. Mechanical Switches – Although I bought this for gaming, I kept typing in mind when I scouted this model. I don’t really believe different switches will make you a better player, so this was solely based on typing. I’ve tried blue switches, they were a dream to type on, but I don’t live alone and the blue’s can get pretty clacky in the middle of the night. I went with the brown’s, they had the same tactile bump as the blue’s, just without the clack. Although, I liked the sound of the blue’s, I’ve come to grow on the brown’s.
5. Numpad – when I punch in numbers into a field, there’s no beating a numpad. I won’t force myself to hunt and peck from home row either. This was a middle of the road option, while keeping it compact as well.

That’s it, pretty simple, huh?

I didn’t really have a use for other functions that other gaming keyboards might have, like extra keys and programmable macros. The games I play don’t really warrant a need for them. If you’re into mmo’s, then maybe you might want to look elsewhere. For just about everything else, this might be the one for you.

5 out of 5 eggsCM Storm Quickfire TK - Brown

This review is from: CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: Cherry MX Brown switches - Perfect for those who want a bit of feedback without the added clicky-clacky of blues

Excellent build quality, I was actually a bit tentative to go with a CM Storm keyboard for build quality reasons but I'm very impressed. It's rock solid, doesn't slide, feels great.

Compact layout - works really well for someone like me, I have a relatively small desk surface and this takes up less space than a standard keyboard, but I still have the number pad. Love this design.

Fully backlit, with options for WASD-only backlighting.

Cons: Backlighting is a bit too bright, especially when it comes to the lock indicators, but it's not a big deal. I've never had a backlit keyboard, so it's just something I'll have to get used to. For the lock indicators, it's easy enough to fix with a piece of paper...lol.

Only one backlight color available. Not much of a con at this price range, but just worth noting.

Not exactly low-profile, had to get a wrist rest to be comfortable but this is more personal preference and again, easy fix.

Other Thoughts: Of course, being mechanical, this isn't a quiet keyboard. Significantly quieter than keyboards with Cherry MX Blue switches though, as mentioned in the pro's. I've been using this for gaming, and it stands up well for both FPS and MMO gaming, no complaints. Some people prefer Reds or Blacks for gaming, but for my money Brown is the way to go. Typing is pleasurable as well, for those interested in that. All in all, this is a fantastic mechanical keyboard, especially at this price. I was worried that it wouldn't be as worth it as I had hoped, but I've been proven wrong. This is an awesome product and I couldn't recommend it more.
