3 out of 5 eggsGood but...

Pros: I love this keyboard. I have had a few mechanical boards in my lifetime but there always seemed to be something fairly significant wrong with them. I as a little hesitant to buy another one but I finally decided to give it a go and thus far I have not been disappointed (see cons). You can purchase this with confidence.

Cons: I have just barely had this keyboard for a month and despite how much I love it I am a bit disappointed that a couple of the keys have already quit lighting up. I know how much of a gamble it can be with these things but barely 30 days just seems to be a punch in the nose per say. The only reason this review is a 3 and not a 5 is because of the early exit of a couple of the lights.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize for the issues you're receiving with your LEDs dying out very early. You can seek a replacement through Newegg or we can certainly help rectify this situation. You will need to RMA the product. I have provided the link below to our FanZone and an RMA instructional link. I would recommend having your serial number and a photo of your purchase receipt. Once you receive your RMA number, write it clearly on the shipping box to help expedite the process.

Since you've owned the product for less than one month, please contact us by phone at 888-624-5099 or Livechat (visible once logged into fanzone) to approve your RMA submission and answer any other questions you may have regarding the process/anything else.

Can't wait to hear from you.

Repsectfully,

Robert N.

P.S.
If you would like to commit to an Advance RMA where we authorize a cross shipment, please complete the following steps. Make sure you have your RMA number ready, call us at 888-624-5099.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Back lighting is great, very responsive keys, easy to get used to, windows key lock is essential to anyone who games, keys have a good feel to them.

Cons: The only real con I can come up with would be that it is a bit high even without using the feet. A wrist rest would have been nice for the slight elevation reducing some strain. I think this is mostly due to my desk set-up as it has a keyboard tray that is lower.

Other Thoughts: As I said it is a bit high, mostly due to my setup. If you are in the market for a mech keyboard, I would highly reccomend this board.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat investment for the avid gamer

Pros: The keyboard itself is very sturdy, since it virtually doesn't flex if you move the sides.

Cherry MX blue switches are versatile in multiple purposes other than gaming. The overall quality is very fast and responsive for many types of games from MMO's to First person shooters.

I find that the layout is nice and simple, yet looks nice and stylish. The LED lighting does help out when playing in the dark since the brightness can light up the area very well.

Other features I enjoy include the N Key Rollover, the option to lock the windows button (Which helps a lot).

Cons: Only a few cons on the keyboard. It would have been nice to see some other options in the lighting options such as integrating custom profiles for different games. It only utilizes either all keys being fully lit, breathing or the WASD and arrow keys being lit. Though for this price range, it's somewhat expected.

It can get a little bit tiring after a while since there is no arm rests, but that can be easily solved with an optional arm rest on the side.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I'm happy with this purchase, as it's a good investment for an avid gamer on a budget. And for other keyboards around the same price range, I feel it holds a better value compared to a Razer Blackwidow (standard model) or anything similar.

Pros: 1. Blue Led Backlight.
2. CHERRY MX BLUE's!!! CLICKY CLICKYYYY
3. Not Ten Keyless.
4. Very nice and clean design.
5. My first mechanical keyboard, so I am hoping that this will be worth the money.

Other Thoughts: I have been waiting for about 2 days and my order is still on "Order Verification"

3 out of 5 eggsJust Another Mechanical Keyboard..

Pros: I am an avid computer gamer and web developer, I finger bang this keyboard for ~10 hours a day.
It's easy to complement this keyboard on a solid frame and keys, just as any mechanical keyboard should.

Cons: Although this keyboard is a sturdy plastic monolith, it is seriously lacking in functionality.
The board doesn't come with a manual, which makes sense because its supposed to be universal, but this also leaves some of its functions up to the imagination. (notably the timing buttons on the numberpad) Moreover, the online manual doesn't cover it either.
The most frustrating thing about this keyboard is the function-lock key. You cannot use the function keys when the FN key is on (It usually is). It also takes 3 seconds to turn on and off.
This means that switching between actual function keys and keyboard macros becomes a unnecessary chore.
Huge oversight.

Other Thoughts: Aside from being a mechanical keyboard, the Quickfire Ultimate is disappointing. It modeled the traditional keyboard design that's been around for decades and then the designers made it just a little less functional and a little more annoying.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mechanical keyboard

Pros: Very tactile, the font is a bit tacky for some people, but I personally am fine with it.

5 backlight brightness options

"Gaming" mode

Keycap puller for easier cleaning

Cons: LED's underneath the spacebar leak when you slouch, easily fixed by putting a blue piece of paper or postit underneath.

Down arrow key got mushy after a week of usage, was told mechanical keys don't get mushy, but it feels off as compared with the other keys ...

Spacebar stabilizer broke off by just simply pressing it, bleh, simply buy another pair online for around $0.50 and you're golden.

Other Thoughts: Everything works as advertised, with some minor drawbacks.

5 out of 5 eggsGlad I Didn't GIve up

Pros: Backlight
feel
weight
everything
Full layout (tkey)

Cons: I still wish the price was a little lower.
F12 key isn't lit when Windows key is disabled (not really a con, just looks weird and wish it was other way around)

Other Thoughts: I went through 3 or so other keyboards (including a cheap CM keyboard that I thought would be good enough) before I decided to stick with this one. I'm glad I didn't settle before, this keyboard has the feel and look I wanted. For someone who writes code all day along with tons of emails, this keyboard feels great. Since I work in a fairly dark room, I wanted a backlit keyboard, but not one that was blinding. The brightness adjustment on this is great, I actually settled on the "breathing" look and love it. Really nothing bad to say about this keybaord. My goal was to find a solid keyboard, that looked good, and felt amazing. I didn't really care about anything extra. This keyboard exceeded everything I wanted.

5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Nicely built and feels great. Got this for my wife, since she liked the feel of my Corsair K70 with MX blues. This CM keyboard with the same switches actually feels better...not sure how that's possible. Feels like there's slightly less resistance than the same switches in my keyboard. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Cons: She's had no complaints. I kind of like the dedicated volume "wheel" on my K70, but I don't think she cares about that kind of thing.

Other Thoughts: I have keyboard envy now. Of course.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very bright, especially at night. The keyboard is very robust and has a very clean look. It's heavy and won't move when typing.

Cons: The "J" and "8" keys seem to be slightly malfunctioning. The click cannot be heard and it has a slightly weird sensation to it compared to the other keys. I bought the blue switches mainly for the clicky sound so it's a little disappointing.

Not worth removing an egg since most keyboard are probably all like that.

Other Thoughts: Oily fingers will leave dark spot on the keys.
