5 out of 5 eggsJust What I Wanted

Pros: Solid as a rock, fully backlit, great feel, increased my speed and accuracy.

Cons: Labeling on some symbol keys is odd, the 'clickless" Cherry Brown switches are plenty clacky, currently out of stock.

Other Thoughts: I love the one I bought so much that I want to buy another. I hope NewEgg gets more soon. :)

5 out of 5 eggsCM Storm QuickFire Ultimate - Full Size Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully White LED Backlit

Pros: Very Solid. A bliss to type and game on. I had no problems thus far with the keyboard and it feels so nice especially when you play FPS games.

Cons: The backlighitng on some keys could be improved. Function key takes too long to be switched on/off

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a fully backlit mechanical keyboard. I was also contemplating on whether to get this one or the one with Cherry MX Red. Chose this one instead and am not regretting the decision.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Durability
Key Feedback
Ease of Removing Keys

Cons: No Palm Rest

Other Thoughts: This was my first mechanical keyboard, and I was very impressed when I first got it. I had been using the Razer Lycosa for about 3 years (had to unplug it every now and then because buttons would stop working), and when I got my QuickFire Ultimate I wasn't sure how to feel about it.

The more I use it the more it grows on me, and it's to the point to where I wouldn't want another keyboard. I love the lighting, I love the mx brown switches, and I love the durability (I feel like I could go to war with it).

Overall a great keyboard, and I hope it stays with me for a long time to come.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but hold off on buying

Pros: Well it is nice to type on, I will admit that. Sweet cable, especially since it's removable. I love the brown switches, and I think I have fallen in love with brown. Also, it comes with a key remover to help clean this puppy out, which also helps when you want to figure out what the hell is up with your F12 key.

Cons: Not product breaking things here, but definitely annoying as all hell. For some reason, Cooler Master decided that the F12 key should have a upside down back light and switch holder, so the back lighting isn't uniform. Then, the 5 key on the top row has a 5, a % and a Euro symbol, and I have no clue as to how to use the freakin euro symbol, as the keyboard came with no instructions or information as to what does what. Also another annoying thing is if you're a sloucher when you sit, the back lights in the keyboard leak out, so that will become a eyesore fairly quick.

Other Thoughts: Fairly good mechanical keyboard but I would think twice before selecting this one if you are a person of uniformity. I am seriously considering returning it, but I will wait until the mouse comes, and I will make my final verdict then.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Keyboard, Some Issues

Pros: My first mechanical keyboard and I love the feel of it. I love the cherry mx browns, much better than membrane keyboards. The full back lighting is a nice aesthetic, but I have a few issues with that. It also feels like a tank.

Cons: As mentioned before I have a few issues. The back lighting on the keyboard is uneven. Some keys are brighter than the others. The lighting also doesn't seem as potent as others have made it out to be. This may be because I got one where there was no white back plate.

Other Thoughts: I am somewhat disappointed. It seems as if I haven't gotten the right keyboard with the uneven back lighting and no white back plate as advertised.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate to previous review

Pros: Update to my previous 4 star review

Cons: Typing on this keyboard quickly went from relative joy to irritation. I have about 5-6 keys that make a metallic pinging noise when I type (without bottoming out) including the space bar. The best way to describe it would be tapping a teaspoon inside of a tin can. Installing O-Rings have not fixed it and even removing the keycaps and testing the switches themselves proved to be unsuccessful. The sound seems to happen on release of the keys after they actuate. Not sure if this is common with all mechanical keyboards but it certainly takes the joy out of typing on it and I'm planning to send it back.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize that you are having issues with our mechanical keyboard. If you have not returned it, please contact us and we can help to trouble shoot the issues with you. Sometimes, it may be just a little nice and easy mechanical keyboard maintenance TLC. I have provided a link which may be a good referenence for all mechanical keyboards owners. Yet, if you feel the keyboard has more severe issues, please contact us by phone (888-624-5099) or Live Chat (link below) where we can help to resolve the issues and if need be, find a suitable replacement for you.

Please let us know how we can help to make this situation better.

4 out of 5 eggsBuilt like a tank

Pros: Extremely well built, nice even backlighting, pleasing actuation with keystrokes, thick braided USB cable, love the font choice for the keys.

Cons: Not sure whether it's a fault in mine or just the way it was designed, but the F12 key doesn't light up the same as the others, might be because it's the Windows lock key so they wanted to differentiate it but I'd rather have the option to do that myself and have consistency across all the keys.

Another minor con is that the keystrokes are a lot louder than I expected for brown switches, sound more like blues to me. Nothing major overall though!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: got it for $99 on sale a wile back and no complanits. after buying 3 outher keyboards over a 2 month time span i went with this and it seems to be a solid worth it product. i feel like i got my moneys worth .[brown key]

Cons: neweggs review removeal

Other Thoughts: well it looks like the egg been removing reviews . why is that? as i rember the reviews for this item were all 4-5 egg [???] wwhats the point of having reviews of items if your not going to leave them for folks to read?? looking over items that i had bought from the egg and reviewed most all have been removed , good and bad. how does this help someone deside on weather or not its a solid item and will fit there needs ??? or will they now be fooled on an item do to reviews being removed that may have showed an issue with that item??

5 out of 5 eggsSimple, solid, high quality keyboard.

Pros: Someone actually put quality first when engineering and building this keyboard.

Absent is the potentially destructive driver/firmware software that is known to render other keyboards nothing more than paperweights. (One such keyboard manufacturer actually makes it impossible to revert it's firmware back to earlier versions if and when it's firmware takes on a mind of it's own.)

Full keyboard lighting, not simply a few right-handed default FPS keys. Why some keyboards only light up WASD and/or arrow keys (CM being guilty of this, too) is beyond me. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed and find WASD absolutely useless.

Mechanical keys. Rubber dome is fine for Mom and Dad to check their e-mail with, but for us gamers (I'm 43 and a father...I mean MY Dad :P), those just aren't going to cut it. I went through 3 rubber dome lighted keyboards in about a year before buying my first mechanical keyboard. Unfortunately, in just under 3 years, it decided to press the Enter key all by itself whenever it darn well pleased, and thought a select few other keys should register twice from time to time.
I can't see any of that happening with this keyboard.

I press (hit would be a more accurate description) the keys pretty hard when playing games like Battlefield and other shooters. Which is exactly why I replaced so many Saitek Eclipse keyboards a few years back. That doesn't even faze this keyboard.

Cons: I would have liked blue lighting with this keyboard, but as I didn't want the switches that come with the blue one (Cherry MX blue), I'll live with the white backlit keys (Cherry MX brown). Keeping that in mind, I'm happy that red lighting wasn't the only option!

Other Thoughts: While I do miss the key configuration software and macro recording feature of my previous mechanical keyboard, I'm confident this keyboard will far outlast that one simply because this one doesn't have either of those options.
