4 out of 5 eggsMostly a great combo

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Keyboard and Mouse both work well, and the backlight is bright enough to be used day and night.

Cons: Mouse light does not turn off at all, unless you unplug the mouse or pc. Even in shutdown state it will stay on.

Keyboard letters are terrible to read without backlight.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bundle for a CHEAP gaming mouse and Keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: - The mouse and keyboard are good looking
- Keyboard holds up well over time. I type a lot and it works fine 2 years after purchase
- The media keys on the keyboard are useful

Cons: - Mouse wheel stopped working after 2 years. Got my money's worth as far as I'm concerned.
- Mouse isn't the best out there regarding ergonomics. Beware if you have carpel tunnel syndrome or issues with mouse ergonomics.

3 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Backlighting is very easy to see and mouse works as it should

Cons: Keyboard lighting has to be turned on every time you boot the system and the space key makes a VERY loud clacking noise every time you use it to the point of losing an Egg.The mouse backlighting stays on when the system is shut down.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad value for the money I guess.....the clacking of the Space bar is getting old quickly even as I type this!

3 out of 5 eggsPretty Fair KB

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Good lighting.

Cons: Characters on the keys are unusually big, and they are a "strange" Font.
Let's stick to Ariel or Helvetica guys!

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend this model because og the overly Large and Strange Fonts.

5 out of 5 eggsIt has exactly the needs for everyday gaming.

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: -The lights look fine
-Mouse may not be perfect, but it's accurate enough to not complain unless you're a perfectionist.
-It's wired so keystrokes are accurate and there's no need for batteries.
-It's pretty like a viking in all the glory.

Cons: Everyone is right about the mouse wheel; it makes the squeaky sounds, but works fine.

Other Thoughts: This is definitely something for an introduction into gaming. It has the basic needs and there really is no more need beyond that.

5 out of 5 eggsLINUX

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: I built a new machine, needed a new keyboard + mouse. Found this, liked the LEDs, bought it. Didn't realize until AFTER I bought it that it wouldn't work right with a Linux system as the Scroll Lock key is the toggle for the LEDs and the coding was wired for Windows, not Linux. I thought it was DOA but it worked on my Windows computer, just not the Linux. Did a little research, five minutes later, I learned to add two Keyboard Shortcuts. Now the Scroll Lock key (or whatever key I wanted to pick) turns ON the LEDs, and the Pause key turns them back off. So it works perfectly, no complaint from a Linux user.

I like the feel of the keys, like that the back lights only fill in letters on black keys and not the entire keys like other boards. So it's minimal, not overwhelming and distracting. Like the mouse a lot, too. The only thing that I minded at first is that the space bar key is louder than the mostly quiet letter keys. But I got over it within a day or two. So long as I have music playing. 10/10 no complaints.

Cons: No cons yet, other than the mildly distracting space bar that I mostly ignore now.

Other Thoughts: Already recommended it to friends. Hope they like it as much as I do, especially for the price.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for price

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: -Neat design
-Backlit keyboard is wonderful
-Built well enough for the price
-Keyboard works fine after 2 years
-The "scroll lock is also back light" issue has never been a problem with gaming.
-Keyboards back light is bright enough to use in the daylight, not blinding when used in dark.

Cons: -Mouse only lasted two years (give or take a few months)
-After a year the scroll wheel started squeeking
-After a year and a half, the left click started to not "click". It still worked at this point but was stupidly touchy. Resting your finger on it would cause it to "click" in (quotation because you couldn't hear or feel the click, but it still worked).
-After a full two years the left click stopped responding completely.
-Sometimes (very rarely), after the comp would go into a screen saver, both keyboard/ mouse would stop responding completely and required to be unplugged then re-plugged.
-Keys on keyboard are extremely hard to make out when back light is off.

Other Thoughts: It's generally a good buy for something to get someone by on a budget. If you're looking for long term, so far only the mouse isn't reliable. The usage on the mouse was moderate. No one that used it was an excessive clicker when playing games. I have cheaper mice from the old days that were used to hell and back still work fine.

I would recommend getting just the keyboard if possible and buying a different mouse. Again though, if you're on a budget and need both a mouse and keyboard, this isnt a bad buy.

1 out of 5 eggsFrustrating

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: -Nice blue back-light on the keyboard and the mouse

Cons: -Mouse scroll wheel constantly squeaks
-Can't make out the keys when the back-light is off
-Have to hit the "Scroll Lock" button to turn on the back-light . This is extremely annoying if you work in Excel because you have to pick whether you want to be able to see the keyboard keys or whether you want to move to another cell.
