Great for a home theatre PC
- Pros: I got this for my home theatre PC MythTV box. I can sit on the sofa and run the PC from across the room. The keyboard immediately worked with Linux, mouse trackball and all. It was pretty easy to program Gnome for the media keys.
The keyboard feels good in the hand. It has great ergonomic design; it is designed so that it can be held with both hands: trackball for the righthand thunb, and left-mouseclick with right hand trigger. The left hand can do left or right click with the thumb and scroll wheel with the left index finger. The keyboard molding on each side is just right for the palm of the hands while you hold it like this. Then you can put it on your lap to type. It is perfect for what I wanted.
- Cons: Similar experience with other reviewers. The RF does seem to fade out occasionally and you have to repeat the odd key press.
The power saving does kick in and a mouse click will wake it up, but I think that that will just make the batteries last longer.
- Other Thoughts: I had no problem with the trackball or keys. Wont give it a perfect score as the RF isn't perfect, but frankly, it almost deserves it.
Nice Board
- Pros: This keyboard is pretty good…it’s for my HTPC. It’s built a little cheap (tactile feel is poor)…but it’s not that expensive keyboard so I wasn’t expecting much either. I had purchased a more expensive keyboard with a built-in touchpad…and it rarely worked. It just never communicated with the USB receiver. This keyboard has worked perfectly from the first time I plugged in the receiver and installed the batteries. It DOES go into sleep mode when not in use (to conserve battery life) and wakes up when any key is pressed. The layout of trackball and buttons are good. The small size and features makes it the perfect keyboard for my HTPC. No other keyboard had these features (size, trackball, wireless etc.). I considered the new Microsoft wireless BTPC keyboard…but I didn’t think the tracking device would have the accuracy needed to select, click and drag etc. This keyboard works just fine.
- Cons: Could be built better.

Just what I needed
- Pros: Very comfortable and the layout is excellent. Goes to 'sleep' to help battery life.
- Cons: Nintendo Game Cube controller look and feel to it? Not really a con, but if you go look at your old controller, the plastic on this is very similar. Just kinda cheap?
- Other Thoughts: Overall very satisfied with it. Curious how long the batteries last.
Nice, Compact and Durable
- Pros: This little wireless keyboard was the perfect choice for my new HTPC setup.
Although the feel of the keyboard isn't ideal for word processing, it works fine for the limited typing that accompanies organizing media files.
The trackball is great, my wife loves the scroll wheel and the left click button position as well as the fact that the compact size allows the keyboard to fit in the drawer with our other remote controls. It has quickly become an integral part of our television and radio entertainment. It is easy to hold and manipulate. Also, the unit seems to be well made and feels solid and not at all "cheap" like I expected. The range is good and overall the performance of this item far exceeded my expectations.
- Cons: It uses four AA batteries. Time will tell as to how long they last.
- Other Thoughts: Some other reviewers mentioned the fact that the unit doesn't respond after periods of non-use. This is because it goes into a power-saving mode after about 10 minutes of non-use. One click of the left mouse button wakes it right up and its then ready to go on the next keystroke.
Nifty solution!
- Pros: This product is great! There is but a *single* flaw, which I will get to in 'Cons.' The keyboard is a good shape, conducive to holding and using as a two handed track ball, and typing on it is rather easy, even in your lap. It's not terribly heavy, but does have a little heft so it doesn't feel like it's going to fly out of your hands.
The power saving works great, but we use it rather sparingly, so I don't have an every day experience on battery life. It works as we need it to. The RF range on it is rather phenominal, especially considering it's going behind the computer and through some other materials, and *that* is the most impressive portion of this keyboard.
If you need a wireless solution for keyboard/mouse that goes through walls and will just plain work, this is the one.
- Cons: The single flaw, in my estimation, is the battery cover needs to be a little more beefy in it's retention latch. I broke it right off first thing. As it's not a huge deal, I just used some duct tape to affix the cover. Nobody minds, or even notices. Even though it's silver against the black keyboard. I may get black tape next time.
