Simply not the same
Pros: Not really much. I like the feel of a good keytronic keyboard. This is not that. Its not completely aweful, its just not Keytronic.
Cons: Keytronic construction and quality is simply not what it was in the past. I bought this to replace my 15+ year old Keytronic keyboard (actually same model #). All the computers in my house have keytronic keyboards. This keyboard is very cheaply made. Many keys are very loose. Caps Lock key is crooked. The tactile feel is nothing like keytronic of past. When typing it feels like you are typing against a brick wall. It is not as soft as the past styles. Some of the special keys have the symbols painted on. They were never sanded down. You can actually feel the raised paint while typing. I'll be going back to the old keyboard and maybe keeping this one as a spare. It's really not worth shipping it back.
Other Thoughts: This is not about comparing one old keyboard to a new one. As I previously stated, I have several keytronic keyboards in the house; some newer - some older. They all have the same signature Keytronic feel and quality of construction. This latest issue falls way short of its older siblings.
