5 out of 5 eggsFlaked out after 3 days.

Comments: Bought this keyboard last week and after using it for only 3 days, it began exhibiting some very weird behavior.. it wouldn't register keystrokes until my computer had been on about 10 seconds and a few keys would not register when used in combination with either of the shift keys ( uppercase letters ), or would work only when you released the shift key before the uppercase letter you were trying to type. Aside from that, the multimedia keys/software are just plain cheesy. They don't work in XP ( Pro ) and the software would throw my computer into some kind of endless loop on startup, opening an IE window every couple seconds until I exited the bundled software. Bottom line.. although 'your milage may vary', I'd spend $3 more and get the Logitech that I didn't notice before having already ordered this. ( Newegg item #N82E16823126127 ) . Newegg was wonderful of course..

3 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I buy lot of different keyboards for evaluation. Compared to Microsoft, Logitech, and A4Tech this is a cheap feeling and cheap sounding keyboard. Mine arrived defective. I have to hit the A key very hard for it to work. However, the price was so low, it is not worth doing a RMA. I will just use it as my personal keyboard instead of offering it with a system.

5 out of 5 eggsJet Black, Comfortable and Quiet...what else could you want!

Comments: I bought this a year ago on my Gaming System. I was a bit scared though since i never heard of ortek...but im very happy. Ive used this for a year and i cant stand using any keyboard but this. Not only does this look great but its quiet and the push of the buttons are perfect. I sold that computer and now buying a new gaming system. I thought about the Microsoft keyboard but forget it why change somthing that is already excellent. The only probelm is when im using 3-4 keys (playing Vice City trying to burn out and turn)it beeps. Not a huge problem but worth noting.

5 out of 5 eggsWho says you get what you pay for?

Comments: This keyboard is pretty good for the price. At only $12 (including three day shipping) it works nearly perfectly. All the keys are soft and quiet and the color is as black as it gets (it also has no logos or print other than button labels and so it looks great with my black Logitech optical mouse). The media buttons are so-so. I'll explain. The scrolling buttons work for most applications but not everything, the zooming buttons are more useful than expected as they DO work with Photoshop and picture viewing which is handy, four of the buttons can be programed to open just about anything and perform certain tasks, but the most disappointing drawback of this keyboard is that the play/pause, previous/next track, and stop button do NOT work for anything other than the keyboard software's own movie clip player (supports AVI, MPEG, and MOV formats). I was disappointed with that fact as I was hoping that they would work with Windows Media Player and the like. But at least you can turn your computer off using this keyboard (hey, for the price it's a nice working feature, among others) and enjoy comfortable use for years to come. The quality is well beyond what was expected. And of course, NewEgg delivered it very quickly, shipping it without a scratch on the box.

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Overall this keyboard is pretty good. However, it has a distinctly "mushy" feel to it. I bought it because it was black, it was cheap, and my old keyboard was broken. For seven dollars, I really can't complain, but it is not the best keyboard for typing.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Keyboard

Comments: For the price, it can't be beat. The hotkeys work perfectly in XP Pro, but I don't know what the X'fer one does, XXXXXXX Comfortable, quiet, and cheap. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Silent, very comfortable, and comparable to both Logitech and Microsoft keyboards. I was rather surprised with the quality of this board, as I was expecting less for a $12 keyboard. Overall, it's a very good keyboard. Recommendd.
