4 out of 5 eggsREAD THIS - the good and the bad

Pros: Very quiet, fairly sturdy except for as noted below. I got it because its quiet, and it has been good for that.

Cons: After about 6 months daily use they keys started rubbing off. Meaning the letters started disapearing. So I called Kensington and they sent me a new better keyboard free of charge. I thought it was going to be with no hassle but then I had to email them back after a couple weeks asking where it was. They emailed back and said it would be there within 10 days. So, it eventually got here. I did not have to send them the old keyboard, its going to goodwill i guess.

Other Thoughts: Probably only deserves 3 eggs for the hassle but its a really nice new keyboard they sent, waterproof, etc. so hard to complain. The sent model# M01067

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is quiet
I like black keyboards with white text. Has a bunch of buttons I hardly ever use.
The power cable is extremely long, I think maybe 8 feet? This might make it good for people who don't want to switch to wireless but still want some freedom to move the keyboard. I have enough wire so i can put the keyboard in my lap, I dont type that way but its nice for those that do.

Cons: The biggest con is the volume control on this thing is horrid. It's loose and very large with a small sweet spot on the bottom making it stick a little. I don't how but the signal turns the volume up in larger bursts than I'd like.

The feet slip down a lot, I might have to crazy glue them into place. If you don't want a long cable this keyboard might be annoying to you.

Not really a con but, the keys take some breaking in or getting used to, they are a bit harder to push than a laptop style keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I expected it to feel more rubbery, it just feels like a plastic keyboard. I don't plan on washing it in a dishwasher.

4 out of 5 eggsCould be better

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do... mostly.

Cons: After a few months the up-arrow key has to really mashed to maintain signal. I'll admit that I may put more stress on it than some users, as I am a gamer, but I haven't had any other K/B fail in this fashion. -1 egg for that.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Keyboard

Pros: Very quiet keys with smooth strokes. Looks nice, feels solid. Tons of extra buttons around the top and side.

It has a small enter key (not the backwards L shaped one) with backslash above it, and the Delete End and Page Down keys directly over the arrow keys.

Rubber grips on the bottom keep it in place much better than the ones on my old keyboard.

Cons: It doesn't light up. Or make coffee.

Other Thoughts: It is next to impossible to find a keyboard with this style of layout.

I prefer this layout because I use the arrow keys for FPS movement, and this layout allows for the most keys within reach from the arrows.

3 out of 5 eggsWarrantee's Good?

Pros: The warrantee service was fantastic and hassle-free.

Cons: Well, I found out the aforementioned fact because several of the keys stopped responding after I tried washing it as advertised. I'm loving the replacement they sent me (A slightly different model - M01067 - the clicky tactile response on this one is gorgeous, though the layout is a bit weird), although I dare not run it under the sink.

Other Thoughts: I was honestly not that pleased with the fact that it didn't hold up to its biggest selling point, but Kensington was willing to stand by its advertisement and send a replacement, so I can give it an "acceptable" rating.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I really liked the feel of the keys. I hit the keys pretty hard when I type, so this cut down on the typing noise a lot. The keys also have a nice roundedness to them, they feel pretty soft to the touch. I also appreciated the Wake/Sleep/Power keys, makes locking your computer while you're away really easy. The media/mail/etc keys on the top of the keyboard are low-profile, adding to the overall appearance of the keyboard.

Cons: The font on the key labels is a little off... and the CapsLock/NumLock/ScrollLock LED indicators are a bit hard to see. This has a small rectangular enter key, which is not an issue for everyone, but should be noted.

Other Thoughts: I feel like I got great value for the price buying this keyboard. Which is nice, because after the last Gigabyte keyboard I bought on Newegg, I was a bit upset with how quickly it broke.

4 out of 5 eggsLayout Warning

Pros: Like almost everything about it. Key feel is O.K., not great, but good. Fairly quiet keyboard. The extra keys for media functions work fine.

Cons: Layout is not quite standard. My big issue is that the Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and Pause keys are where the Insert, Home and Page up keys should be. I use all of these and having them in the wrong place is killing me (I would give it one egg for this but that does not seem fair). I am going to have to quit using the keyboard because of this. Numeric keypad seems closer to the letters (minor issue).

Other Thoughts: On my computer it has to be plugged into the motherboard (not a hub) to cause wake-up.

5 out of 5 eggsa klutz's dream

Pros: Totally ignores spills; I just keep typing while it dries out. This has happened multiple times, and usually involved a good dousing with over 8 oz. of water. I'm ordering more because my puppy chewed the cord. Keys are nice and snappy too.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsQuality Keyboard at a bargain!

Pros: Functionality is exactly as advertised. Keys are all where they should be with not too many additional function keys. Quality of construction is on par with Logitech devices costing substantially more.

Cons: The keys are a bit soft. If you need a keyboard that has a good "click" with with every keystroke, then this may not be for you.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with Ubuntu!

Pros: Economically conscious unit, yet it comes with plenty of features and ease of setup that I was not expecting. Adequate feedback and quiet, particularly with the rubber tipped feet on the bottom which really helps for both noise reduction and non-slippage in my case since my keyboard tray is made of metal. The enter key is one line high (preferred)

Cons: Navigation buttons above inverted tee are one level down as the print screen, scroll lock and pause buttons are shifted down to make room for wake, sleep, and power buttons. I figure this will take me a few hours/days to re-adapt, and the only thing I would have preferred from the outset would have been a raised bar on the Home button which now finds itself dead center of the 9.

Other Thoughts: Fully plug-and-play with Ubuntu. I unplugged previous keyboards and plugged this one in without incident. I was amazed to find that the extra media (volume control), browser (home, refresh, back, forward), and quick launch (email, search, calculator) buttons worked automatically without any need on my part to edit configuration files.
