The Virtually Indestructible Keyboard, a silicon-based flexible computer keyboard, features a unique combination of durability and soft, comfortable feel. The washable, "roll-able" keyboard has been called "the best thing to happen to typing since the backspace key."

The VIK combines state-of-the-art technology with practical design to produce the perfect keyboard. The unique layout offers quick, reflexive typing action that is not only silent, but also more comfortable than standard hard plastic keyboards. The "flat-out" design eliminates negative-angle wrist stress, an unfortunate and impractical holdover from the archaic days of manual typewriters.

The silicon-based material is impervious to most anything including water, coffee and cleaning solutions. From the classroom to the factory floor, the Virtually Indestructible Keyboard is poised to revolutionize how the world types.

4 out of 5 eggsdoes the job

Pros: Does the job, helps me when my small laptop keyboard fails, and fits into my bag with the small computer. I travel the world in rough conditions, and this holds up.

Cons: Takes some getting used to to type accurately, but once you learn to type more like playing the piano (finger strikes more vertical, and percussive), it types just fine. When it's been rolled up, the initial typing has inaccuracies until the keyboard settles back into flattening. As in it hits adjacent keys...the wiring is kinked and the signal gets crossed. That lasts about 5 minutes, I'd say. Sort of like a sleeping bag taking some time to get it's loft after being packed.

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend it if you need portable external keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsvery destructible

Pros: Waterproof, small, rolls up, flexible.

Cons: I have had this keyboard for 2 weeks, used it maybe 3 or 4 times, now the "a" key is stuck on and constantly typing "a"s, which renders it completely useless.

Even when it did work, it was hard to use since its keys are mushy and smaller than a normal keyboard, and the backspace and delete keys are in different places than standard keyboards. You will spend a LOT of time backspacing/retyping, and forget trying to type passwords that are hidden behind ***s because you won't be able to see the typos.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money.

3 out of 5 eggsOk, pros and cons

Pros: Spill resistant and super quiet. Comes with ps/2 adapter. Rolls up nicely and stores easily.

Cons: Keys don't always work when pressed. You really have to check to see what you're typing after every word or so. The space bar is really bad about it. Don't use for gaming or typing in word. Its more for light use or portability.

Other Thoughts: The one sent me isn't the exact one shown here. It has the control unit on the left side instead of the top. I actually like it better because it rolls up easier. Other than that i think it is the same 85-key layout.

1 out of 5 eggsCool But Useless

Pros: You can roll it up and use it under water

Cons: They withstand everything but normal use

Other Thoughts: I've actually owned a number of these and they all broke with a couple of months. Invariably some of the keys stop working. A complete waste of money.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked for me

Pros: Durable and seems liquid tight. It works great in the shop for rare text input. Flexible and stays put on various surfaces. Good for a wet/dirty environment where you only need to type a URL or enter some quick data.

Cons: Squishy bricks of silicone for keys make typing unpleasant. No good for anything but hunt and peck, URL entry, and maybe a password or two. Not useful as a real keyboard. Some of the keys are split into multiple blocks.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat but not

Pros: very slim.
can spill anything you want, just wipe it away.
rubber, so it sticks to your desk.

Cons: space bar takes a lot to get used to. because its completely flat, its harder to type than expected. also, I ordered the one of the picture above, got a different one. no biggie for me, i payed less for the more expensive one.

do not use for gaming, luckily i stopped using keyboard for gaming every since i got my belkin n52te

Other Thoughts: it takes getting used to, but in the end i might sell it, past return period, so ill just hawk it at a yard sale next week, 10 bucks for the awesome no spill rubber keyboard that works perfectly except for when you have to type!

p.s. this took me awhile to type, got this thing sucks.

no egg loss though, it is exactly what it stated it is, so i really cant hate on a product, im dumb for buying it.
