1 out of 5 eggsTrackball stopped after six months of use.

Pros: Rang was good when it was full charged

Cons: Placement of keys was strange, Fn key was where the ctrl key should be. Mouse buttons where both off to the left of the track ball. Other keys weren't were you'd expect them. The main thing is that the trackball stopped working about a week ago. I've had this keyboard for about six months.

Other Thoughts: For 70+ bucks I'd expect this keyboard to last longer than 6 months.

1 out of 5 eggsVery dissatisfied

Pros: Small
Media buttons

Cons: Intermittent connectivity
Short range
USB cable for charging very loose; constantly unsecure
Finicky reconnection upon loss of connection

Other Thoughts: I've tried to like this keyboard, but it is probably the worst non-IR wireless keyboard I've ever used. I don't mean to undermine the other reviewers, but I am using it on a separate floor from my 2.4 GHz WAP (i.e. not an interference problem) with straight line of sight from less than 10 feet away. It frequently misses keys ore repeats keys. I've tried it with USB-recharged batteries, my own rechargeables, and straight AA's - all the same effect.

Cons: No con

4 out of 5 eggsNice start. Room for improvement. Nice HTPC keyboard.

Pros: - Small and light weight.
- Comes with rechargeable batteries but you can also use two standard AAAs.
- Only the mouse goes to sleep, the keyboard is always active (but doesn't seem to consume power unless a key is pressed).
- GREAT range. Blows my older wireless devices out of the water. I can use it outside and it still works. I've tested it to ~ 20 feet and through a window. No problems even with the dongle back amongst the speakers and other equipment.
- NO SOFTWARE, works like a USB keyboard and mouse.
- Seems to have good battery life (I've let it go over a month without recharging so far with very heavy use).
- Special-Function keys work without any setup.
- Keyboard is actually not horrible. I expected it to be worse but for casual typing on an HTPC, it's just fine. Short space bar though and right side lower keys (alt) slid over a bit to accommodate small footprint.

Cons: - Numlock should be a function-controlled key (very minor con)
- So far I can not figure out how to reassign the special function keys (very minor con).
- No right-side control key.
- Left function and control keys are swapped from what I'm used to.
- MEDIA control layout could be better. Especially for us sausage-finger persons.
- Trackball is a bit gritty feeling. It does work and I'm using it fine with my HTPC.
- Mouse buttons could be positioned better.
- No extension cable. I've already kicked it hanging off the front of my computer once.
- USB cable does not stay in. Likely a problem with just mine but it falls out. I have to carefully put it in and set it down.
- Either it doesn't charge properly from the USB, or you just get no notifications one way or the other when it's plugged in. I don't know if it's working or not... Could be by design; or mine could have a problem. With the above con, that wouldn't surprise me.

Other Thoughts: - The special function keys work great, but it would be nice to be able to tweak them a bit. Although I have not looked very hard yet as this is a very minor issue.
- USB dongle is stout, I kicked it HARD on accident once and bent it right up (~ 45 deg). Opened it (one screw) and carefully bent the USB plug back into position and checked the solders and the board. Still going strong.
- The mouse ball push-function should double as left click and be slightly easier to press (you really have to push). Used only for 'wake up'.
- I had to significantly slow down the mouse cursor function in Windows because the default speed of this ball is VERY fast. It is optical but not as accurate as you would think. Works fine but just slow down the cursor cause it likes to move when you remove your thumb to hit the button.
- (Unless my charging unit is faulty); Lighting up or flashing the mouse light or something to signify charge in progress would be nice. Even just a windows 'ding'... Something.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great from far away

Coming Soon!

Pros: Full-size keyboard with small footprint. It goes to sleep to save power. Wake it up by pushing in trackball. Trackball works well. Comes with rechargeable batteries and USB recharging cable.

Cons: Dongle is a little fat and can interfere with others next to it when inserting into motherboard USB slots. My biggest complaint is that the left mouse button should be on the left side of the trackball and the right one on the right side. They are both to the left side. I keep pressing the right mouse button when meaning to press the left. I don't see any mention of Bluetooth on the packaging or docs. It says 2.4Ghz ISM band RF. Pretty sure that ain't Bluetooth.

Other Thoughts: If you need a keyboard for your HTPC, like I did, then this is what you need. Not too good for lefties though. After you learn where the left and right mouse buttons are you will love it. I've learned to turn the TB with my pinky and the finger next to it and pressing left mouse button with index finger and right button with middle finger.
