Pros: I've played with quite a few Mechanical Keyboards and switches. Browns, Reds, Blues... But this is my first time with Blacks, and well... I love them!

- Likes:

-Great weight on the Keyboard means it wont be sliding around while gaming.
-Black switches cause you to push a little bit harder so you don't end up "fat fingering".
-Not overly noisy like Blue switches.
-White color is very attractive and doesn't get dirty like I thought it would.
-Logo's are tasteful and not over done. Not to mention durable.
-Windows key on left side replaced with a Function button for audio settings, very useful and easy to use with one hand.
-Built in USB ports work flawlessly along with the 3.5mm jacks as well. Very convenient since my case does not have front ports. I now have a new place to put my flash drive without having to reach behind my computer.
-LONG cable makes cable routing easy without fear of length issues.

Cons: - Dislikes:

-Does not come with a removal key for cleaning the keyboard.
-Price is a little higher than some of the competition.
-Non-removable power cable for LAN travel makes it a little more difficult.
-Despite liking the cable length, it is a little thick to make up for the USB and 3.5mm jacks.

Other Thoughts: - What would I change?

A few issues I had with this keyboard are easily fixed. Include a removal key, it's a fifty cent tool that goes a long way with consumers.
Could use a small price decrease, but it's not so much that it's not worth it, because this is a great keyboard.
Remove that 3.5mm headphone/mic jack from the keyboard, would reduce thickness of the cable making a removable power cable easier to do.


- Would you buy/ recommend it for a family member / friend?

Absolutely, this is a great keyboard. The Pros HEAVILY outweigh the Cons and I can't think of a better mechanical keyboard I've used in a years. It doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary buttons that would be confusing to some. I thought macro buttons were the only way till I found out that I never really used them.


Overall this is another great product from the Thermaltake eSports lineup. If you're looking for a keyboard in this price range, It's well worth it.

Pros: Had quite a few different types of mechanical keyboards that I was debating on; finally decided to make the jump with the Meka G1 and I am in love. If the quality stays consistent and Tt continues to deliver, I'll keep my eye on their products.

Cons: None thus far, we'll see after a year or so of ownership. :)

Cons: I have had this keyboard for under a year and it decided to just die out on me. no longer works. was expecting much more from a $100 keyboard

Other Thoughts: dont buy it

Pros: The cable is extremely heavy duty. It has the audio and USB extension built into a single heavy fabric coated cable.

Cons: Headphone port has an annoying hiss.

6 months after owning it certain keys started either sometimes not entering when pressed, or more often double inputting. First it was my "O" key, then soon "I", "L" and now "E".

Needless to say this is EXTREMELY annoying and I feel like a fool for spending $100 on this piece of junk.

Pros: Simple layout.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is nothing short of perfect. It's not loud at all. The black switches are perfect for me, they're not even very resistant as you would otherwise believe. The whole keyboard is all in all a great keyboard and I highly recommend it to anyone weather you're just getting your fist mechanical keyboard or if this is to replace a current mechanical keyboard.

Pros: very sturdy build, all the keys are rigid. I switched to this from a g15 and haven't looked back, the difference really is night and day. The layout is the best for gaming

Cons: The chord is fairly short, it can put stress on the connector/wires. my r key died after just a year of use, which surprised me for such a well built keyboard.

Other Thoughts: If you don't need macro keys or flashy lights, this keyboard is amazing. I'm questioning the QA though, mine lasted far too short for this keyboard/price

Pros: Nice braided cord, usb slots, excellent response time, no issues (other than backspace key going out <1 year). Currently attempting to RMA but otherwise this is my first mechanical keyboard and I've enjoyed it with mostly gaming applications.

Cons: Backspace key went out but I would assume this is not a common problem. Very pricey, but it is mechanical.

Other Thoughts: Wish more people manufactured mechanical keyboards available in North America.

Pros: As the title says, this thing is a beast. I am not sure if they have changed the manufacturing since some of these earlier reviews, but I don't see how anyone can question the build quality. It's tank like, and brings to mind the old IBM keyboards for those of us with some gray hair. Typing feels great, and no annoying "gamer" logos or LED lights.

Cons: I do wish it had an easier way to control music other than the function keys. The wrist tray was cheap looking (I never attached it anyway).

Other Thoughts: I purchased this at a local store after my Razer Lycosa seized up one me for one last time--that thing is straight-up junk by the way. Wow, what a difference. This just feels like a heavy duty keyboard that is going to last.

Pros: Very high quality, built like a tank

Cons: Not enough media controls. Could be a pro or a con depending on what you want. Keys are slightly harder to depress than normal membrane keys.

Other Thoughts: This is my first mechanical keyboard. Everyone says mechanical keyboards are the best, so I had to try one out. I game and type a lot, so I got this keyboard with Cherry Black keys. I love this keyboard! It truly is great for gaming and typing. I heard the Cherry Red keys are the same as the Blacks, but the Reds require slightly less pressure to depress. I may prefer the Reds over the Blacks, but I havent tried them out yet. I read that a lot of people prefer the Blacks over the Reds because with the Blacks you are less likely to depress the wrong key, due to the fact that they take a fair amount of force. I can type and game for hours and my fingers do not feel tired though. So dont be worried about that. Overall, this is a fantastic keyboard and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Mechanical switches provide nice tactile feedback. Fast response rate.

Cons: I bought this keyboard expecting a decent piece of hardware for the cost. What I got was just an OK keyboard. I honestly can't say it's better than a regular keyboard. Other than the tactile feedback, it really isn't anything awesome. To top matters off, the "E" key failed within 1 month. I've never had a keyboard fail that quick, ever.

Other Thoughts: Expensive for what it is. Replaced it with a Microsoft Natural 4000.
