2 out of 5 eggsWas nice for a few months

Pros: This is the first mechanical keyboard I've owned, so of course the difference is night and day. The tactile feedback, the sound and the lack of rollerover issues really set this keyboard apart from what I had been previously using.

I bought this keyboard with gaming in mind, but I also do a bit of work on it here and there, and it has been nice to use for both.

I've seen a few complaints about the backlight being too bright, particularly, the indicated LEDs for caps lock, etc (which cannot be dimmed, unlike the rest of the keyboard). However, I didn't really have any issues with this. Unless your head is hovering directly above the lights, it's not noticeable at all.

Cons: I purchased this keyboard in May (5 months ago, at the time of writing this review) and over the past few weeks, I've noticed intermittent (but very obvious) issues with keyboard chatter.

My "E" key is the one that's really giving me the most trouble. At first I thought I was going crazy, but the rate at which I was seeing double ee's actually prompted me to do a search on this issue. I've also experienced issues with a few of the other keys (a and t have been the main culprits).

I expected issues much late in the product's life, but only 5 months of use is hardly the lifespan I expected.

Other Thoughts: From what I've read, it isn't too difficult to replace the switches in some keyboards, so I'll be looking into that before I make my next purchase, but overall, I expected more from this keyboard. Obviously it's cheaper than some other mechanical keyboards, which is nice if you don't run into any issues, but at the moment, all the benefits of having a mechanical keyboard are so overshadowed by this annoying key chattering that I'd honestly be happier using my old one.

Maybe this is a just a fluke, so if you're willing to take a risk (or willing/able to replace the switches) then this board might be an okay purchase. Next time I'll be paying closer attention to what other people are saying and how often these type issues show up in the reviews. It seems to have been an issue for the MX Blue version of this board, but less so for this model.

4 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard, good service

Pros: - Better resistance than membrane keyboard.
- Feels nice to type on.
- Hassle-free service so far: one of the flip-out plastic struts which holds up the keyboard broke after a few months. Thermaltake sent me a new strut without fuss. It was easy to replace.
- Feels nice and solid.
- Feels nice to type on.
- Significantly less expensive than many other mechanical keyboards at time of purchase.

Cons: - Actuation (completed keystroke) tactile feedback does coincide with the tactile feedback. However, the feedback is subtle and hard to notice unless you depress the key very slowly, so I don't really feel it while typing. Don't know whether this is a CherryMX thing or a ThermalTake thing. It's closer to what I expected from a red switch in terms of typing feel.

Other Thoughts: - Despite the very subtle tactile feedback mentioned above, there is enough depth and resistance on the keys that I don't bottom out the keystrokes with a slam, which has a noticeable and beneficial effect on typing fatigue.
- Spacing feels a lot different than my MS Curve keyboard or Mac keyboard. It definitely feels nice to type on, but I still make typos; still getting use to it.

TL;DR: Now that other keyboards have come down a bit in price I might comparison shop if buying new, but I don't regret this one.

4 out of 5 eggsI am Happy with this $90 purchase

Pros: responsive -KL!!!!CKLY LIKE YOU LIKE IT - The blue color stands out - basic format that fits any where and can be taken on the GO! - unit has weight that make a solid unit - only 1 USB cord - keyboard combination allowed me to Function lock and enabled me to use the Media keys on my ASUS G74 Finally - !My wife hates the click!

Cons: I am not a gamer but a Mechanical Keyboard is a must so these are my CONS - would have been great to have another lever of angle for the keyboard besides just the single arch. Instructions on how to perform a Fn Lock. "Ctrl+Alt+Alt+Fn" because my asus G74 is not set up as Media keys as default and I cannot reset in the BIOS

Other Thoughts: OUCH - this review is on the KAYLE blue switch edition made in China - I am a Typist, Heavy Excel User and Audio Editor. i have nothing to complain about - the keyboard is nice and I am happy that they have made a solid entry level back lit keyboard and is not gauging people for Mechanical keys. theres a Video on YOUTUBE that calls the switches

5 out of 5 eggsWow...!

Pros: -Blue LED
-Cherry MX Brown
-Smaller than other mechanical keyboards
-Inexpensive (got it for around $89)
-Win lock button
-Multimedia Keys

Cons: -Indicator lights (Caps lock, Num Lock, etc.) is very bright.
-A bit tall without wrist rest

Other Thoughts: This is the first mechanical keyboard I have owned and so far it has been perfect. None of the LEDs have died on me and the keys are not fading like other membrane keyboards I have owned. At this price you get full LED, full Num Pad, and multimedia keys. I am thoroughly pleased at this product and would buy again if the need ever arises.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Love the blue LED lets~
Brown Switches not so loud/no click and still has that tactile feel.
Heavy and solid, so you know its quality!

Cons: No wrist rest!

Other Thoughts: So far I'm loving this keyboard! Cheap and worth the money! Brown switches still have that tactile feel but without the click. And those blue LEDs that peer through the keys and the option to adjust brightness is just great!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 1. Not too loud for a mechanical keyboard (Brown switches)
2. Simple layout without an excess of useless media keys (if you don't want them
3. Switch to turn of Windows key is useful at times

Cons: Could use more brightness options on the backlit keys, or at least memory of last brightness setting.

1 out of 5 eggsIts a joke, don't buy it!

Pros: nice key action, heavy-doesn't move around

Cons: Over 25 symbols that I use were not illuminated. To add insult to injury the unlit symbols are marked in dark color against black keys so I had to turn on a bright light to see them.

Other Thoughts: I had to return it. It is easier for me to use a plain black key keyboard with white symbols than to have to turn on my desk lamp to find an unlit symbol. I call it a joke because only a joker marks black keys with dark colors.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake apologize for the negative experience you had with our product.
Thank you for your review. It has been brought to attention, and will be considered when making future products.

3 out of 5 eggssomewhat of a cruel joke on me

Pros: really nice keys, good feel, nice click, heavy-stays put

Cons: There are over 20 symbols I use that are not illuminated (the ones on the number keys plus the comma, period, etc.)
Thus I have to keep a lamp burning to see these 20+ symbols so there is no advantage to me for the lighted ones. I was looking forward to not having the light burning so I guess the joke is on me.
Still, the keyboard has such a nice feel that I am going to keep it. My rating would have been 5 if I could see all the symbols I use in a dark room.

Other Thoughts: Don't tell me to memorize those 20+ symbol locations - I'm much to old for that-grin.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I wanted

Pros: This keyboard has far exceeded expectations so far. I bought it for my fiancé who, after testing several display models at stores around town, decided she loved the brown switches. I got her this one because it had everything she was looking for, and now that she has spent several hours using it, she loves it. The keys have a perfect action and click, the backlight is bright and impressive, and the keyboard is solid and heavy enough to stay in place. The price was also great for a mechanical gaming keyboard.

I also paid for the super egg save shipping (4-7 days). Ordered the keyboard on Saturday, and got it on Tuesday. Definitely didn’t expect it that early! Thanks Newegg!

Cons: Couldn't have it gift wrapped. Only one color for the backlights.

Other Thoughts: I think a big part of what we both love about this keyboard is the switches. I may have to look for another one with same switches for me!
