3 out of 5 eggsDecent Keyboard - Not the best

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: Lighted background, Decent feedback. Sturdy.

Cons: I have had this keyboard for about 8 moonths now. My friend bought a mechanical keyboard at the same time. After punching the keys on his keyboard and this one. The difference is quite noticeable. His keyboard had a cleaner crisper soound and a more distinct feeling to the bottooming out.

Also, just recently the keyboard has started duplicating my "O,L,Y" presses. I am leaving anyy of the extra letters in it so you can see how often it happens. (It's not my typing I never have this problem at home on a different keybooard.

Other Thoughts: Good for the price. But the extra key additions are making me crazy. I am about to get rid of it.

4 out of 5 eggsexcellent

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: Keys are responsive, blue backlighting looks clean, has a solid/weighted feel to it

Cons: Only issue mechanically is that my W and 1 keys sometimes stick for a split second, but not often enough to even be considered a real problem.

Also as someone else mentioned, the blue backlighting flickers kind of like a monitor with a really low refresh rate. It is very noticeable from the corner of your vision while scanning the screen, but I really only notice it while surfing the web. In game I'm too distracted to notice it at all.

Other Thoughts: Recommended for anyone who wants a decent mechanical keyboard and who likes the aesthetics of this particular keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard when it works...

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: - Solid build
- Good layout
- Affordable

Cons: - After a few months of use, keys will begin double registering (technically called "key chatter") which means a key that is pressed once, for example, the "g" key, will double register and output "gg" ... this is a sign of faulty switches in the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: First off, this is a great keyboard for the money if it worked properly. I RMAed my first Poseidon Z because of double registering issues within two months of using it. After a bit of a wait and also paying for shipping to Ttesports, I am on my second Poseidon Z keyboard and once again the keyboard has started double registering keys after two months.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but I am extremely disappointed in receiving and using two keyboards with faulty switches and will not be buying from Ttesports ever again. The money I would spend on RMAing a SECOND time will be put towards a new mechanical keyboard.

There are several other reviews stating the same issue and it's a shame Ttesports has not acknowledged these issues other than encouraging people to use the five year warranty, which from my experience, you will most likely need in order to use this keyboard for any significant length of time.

This keyboard would be a great, affordable entry into the world of mechanical keyboards if Ttesports would hold their products to a higher standard and not allow such major problems to exist with their keyboards.

Caveat emptor...keep shopping - there are better options.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: When the keys work they have satisfying feedback

Cons: KEY KEEP BREAKING/STICKING!

Seriously this is idiculous. I've decided to type this review without doing any corections- notice the lack of r's? And that's just the key of the week- I've had problems with at least 4 keys since I've owned this thing. For gaming you can get over it, but it is just awful to do any wod processing on. DO NOT BUY

Other Thoughts: This might just be a super lemon keyboad but fo the $80 I paid forr it I'm very dissapointed.

5 out of 5 eggsPoseidon Z

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: Solidly built. Backlit. Mechanical. Not going to break the bank when you buy it.

Cons: Some keys feel inconsistent. My cap locks light and scroll lock light do not light up.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a second mechanical keyboard. My first was a CM Storm. It had Cherry Red keys in it and it is fine for gaming but wanted something better to type on when doing my everyday stuff. This one was around the perfect price. Have to say, it really is a nice keyboard. Full size backlit mechanical keyboard for this price was way to good to pass up on. I don't regret buying it but there are few things about it that are going to bug me. The cap locks light being the only real big thing. Not sure why that bothers me so much but it does. Just me I guess. Other then that, I would buy another one in a heart beat.

1 out of 5 eggsKeys stopped working

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: Heavy duy. Looks nice. Easy o ype

Cons: TThe keys sopped working, especially he "T" key, you can ell jus by reading his post. Someimes i works, and hen it types 2 or 3 in a row. Now I have to RMA the stupid tthing, they are charging me FULL MSRP while they wait for the broken one. This is not what I expecetd when I paid $80 for a heavy duy mechanical keyboard. I would have been beter off gettting he $12 microsof keyboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The Poseidon Z is an amazing keyboard and we're postive you'll love it once your RMA replacement is received. Our advance service RMA requires a charge as a deposit for the replacement. The full charge amount will be refunded to you once the defective unit has been received.

3 out of 5 eggsNice so far, but the backlighting....

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: Keyboard is very fast. The key spacing is very good and I feel like I can type significantly faster and more accurately on this than my previous keyboard. For example, I typed the previous sentence at 100% accuracy. The keyboard itself is heavy - in a good way. It feels very solid and feels like it was last a long time.

The key markings are still pretty visible without the back lighting, which is good because....see cons.

The backlighting is under each key, and the light doesn't bleed around the keys too much (very minimal) like some cheaper backlit keyboards. This is a very nice thing, as the only parts of the keyboard you really see in the dark is the actual symbols on each of the keys.

Cons: The backlighting is really distracting. The color is that same blue that you have on most LCD monitors power light, the really blinding one that is on every single electronic device made in the last 10 years and it is a horrible thing. I was hoping the color on the box - a more of a light sky blue - would be the color of the backlighting, but no. It's the deeper "cool blue led" color which I personally hate.

Though the actual color might be just my personal preference, the flicker is not. The LED's seem to be flickering. You know when you see a cars LED tail lights in the car ahead of you, and it's a little flickery especially when you look from side to side? The back lighting on the keyboard is like that - at all 4 brightness levels. If you have a bigger monitor, (i am on 24), and look from side to side in a game a lot (like in a RTS when looking at the map), you will notice it and it is pretty distracting.

Also, the back lighting seems to be under the top side of the key, so the second symbol (for example, the "&" under the 7) is VERY dim by comparison at all light levels - and considering the color of Blue LED's makes the eyes strain more than Red would, the blindingly bright Blue makes the symbols pretty hard to see until your eyes adjust.

Also, and this isn't as much of a con as it is an inherent feature of the type of keys, but it is pretty loud especially if you type pretty fast. I don't know if I would consider it a con, but more of an FYI - mechanical keyboards are pretty loud.

Other Thoughts: The keys themselves feel really good to type on. They feel solid, and I feel like I can really beat the keys down without breaking them which is handy when gaming and you really really need to jump, or whatever.

A note to thermaltake - If this keyboard came with the function of being able to set the color yourself, using tri-color LED's instead of BLUE only, I am certain this keyboard would be more successful. I would love to have this thing in RED to match the lighting of my computer. The keyboard itself is really nice and I don't really want to return it because there aren't any options of similar quality that I can find which have the red lighting I would want. I will probably at some point void my warranty and replace all of the LED's myself with red ones. (Note: I don't recommend this action for the common user - I work with electronics a lot and know a thing or two!)

So, customizable colors (for example, like the Logitech GX9 mouse) would be FANTASTIC. Also, constant-on LED's would be great (the GX9 also has this).

A second (even slightly dimmer) LED under the bottom of the key would also be good. (Maybe make this one a second customizable color - that would be amazing!)

Otherwise, the function of this keyboard is really nice. The keys feel great, the back lighting under each key is really nice (other than the mentioned complaints I have about the back lighting)

FYI To thermaltake - the cost of the above would be an extra 5 dollars per keyboard, but I'd pay an extra 40 for it.

Hope this helps someone!

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: This is the cheapest good mechanical keyboard and delivers great gaming performance for the price. Also very quick to type on.

Cons: No wrist pad, but a lot of people don't like those anyways, so it's a personal preference thing. Can't change LED color either.

Other Thoughts: Best value in a mechanical keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsPerhaps simply a mishap, but a fatal one for this user experience

This review is from: Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Blue Switches

Pros: responsive
Blue switches (personal)
affordable
5 year warranty
Backlighting ranging from Dim to very bright
Rubber stoppers to limit movement while in use.

Cons: Specific keys double register often ("s", "m", "1") Making game-play utterly impossible.

Same keys and others simply don't register at all on a few rare occasions

Other Thoughts: While I am inquisitive as to whether mine is simply a defective unit and I simply need to cash in the 5 year warranty only a week out of the box or this is a frequent issue this was a major disappointment to me.

Looking at other low rated reviews of this product I see that some people had identical issues, so be weary with this product. Seems to be a quality build at an affordable price, but seems to have a few nasty ones in the system.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We apologize about the negative experience thus far. Please contact Customer Service so we can have the keyboard replaced for you immediately through warranty service.
