4 out of 5 eggsServer or limited use KB

Pros: One usb connector for kb and mouse.
I use this for server use when not remoting.
I have tried wireless and all other options then settling on this one. I have 3.

Cons: As with all trackballs, they get dirty and need cleaning from time to time.

Other Thoughts: When cleaning be careful not to knock loose any of the 3 beebees that the ball rides on.

4 out of 5 eggsIt does work w/Linux

Pros: Look, you're not considering this item for daily use. It is what it is. I found it to be exactly what I was after. A small keyboard with built-in mouse that I'll keep tucked away in a small enclosure for use once a year. I installed Debian Etch on a machine with it attached, and with nothing further than installing xorg and kde-core, it was fully functional.

Cons: Track ball is a little noisy in use. I think I read in a description it is an optical track ball, but I don't think so.

Other Thoughts: Just wanted to point out it does work with Linux. At least with Debian Etch. Maybe the other reviewer had a faulty unit?

3 out of 5 eggs1/2 Linux Support

Pros: Compact

Cons: Tech Support is terrible.
Can only be used as a Keyboard in linux, Called Tech Support and after 1 hour on hold the tech (Who spoke very poor english) said there was no linux support for this keyboard and hung up. The Keyboard actually works in linux but the built-in TrackBall does not.

1 out of 5 eggsVery poor avoid

Pros: Nice compact size

Cons: Will last you about two weeks....im not heavy handed and look after my gear maybe because it costs me so much lol but this item broke for no reason within two weeks of use the trackball is to weak and broke to the point where it could not move horizontally......please avoid this product anless you intent to use a seperate mouse which in my opinion defeats the object

Other Thoughts: New egg need to source some better manufacturers like lxxxtech and get there variation of this board i mean just who are ADESSO?

2 out of 5 eggsGood design, BAD implementation

Pros: Good idea for a keyboard with built in pointing device. If better quality parts were used it could have potential.

Cons: Trackball is too small and due to the cheap mechanics of the unit it is very difficult to use. The first day I received this, the trackball suddenly stopped moving horizontally. It continued to do this on and off until I returned it.

Other Thoughts: This is the second defective keyboard I have bought from Adesso, the other one was the wireless touchpad version. I'm gentle with them and with both the problem appeared within the first day of use. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. I would not recommend buying from Adesso, specifically keyboards including pointing devices

4 out of 5 eggsGood if you don't type much

Comments: I put this in my arcade cabinet, and it worked perfectly. I didn't have any room for a mouse next to the keyboard in the keyboard tray, so this fit the bill. You have to be a bit firm with the trackball, which is a bit of a disappointment, and it could use a function lock button, but if you are short on space and don't expect to type a whole lot, this is recommended.
