1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality, does not hold up to daily use.

Pros: The touchpad is located in a good area where you can access it easily with your thumbs. It is not in a area that the palms would accidently hit it.

Cons: I have purchased two of these keyboards. Both have failed for the same reason. The touchpad switches fail after a period of time. The first keyboard failed just after a year and was out of warranty. The second failed after 10 months and I'm in the process of requesting an RMA.

Other Thoughts: In short do not buy it, spend a bit more money and get a quality keyboard.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't make the mistake I did

Pros: It fits the description accurately. The touchpad functions as expected.

Cons: The keyboard is terrible, as everyone else is saying. Some keys register inconsistently, the space bar rattles, and the whole thing feels mushy.

Other Thoughts: I read reviews which said all that, and thought "Maybe they just got a bad unit" and order one anyway. Nope. Mine sucks too.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible for typing

Pros: The touchpad is responsive and the up/down scroll feature works well. Multimedia buttons are useful.

Cons: I bought this keyboard to help with my chronic carpel tunnel that is inflamed by using a mouse too often. The touchpad helps with the CT, but the keys are so difficult to press that it actually brought about the CT in both hands instead of just my write. I type a lot during the day and the keyboard is so exhausting to use that my typing is worthless by 5om. Also, the mouse buttons below the touchpad are noisy, sticky, and overall a terrible design.

Other Thoughts: The best keyboard/touchpad combo I have ever used was on a Dell inspiron notebook. Up/down and side/side scrolling on the touchpad, excellent key feel and spacing, and otherwise excellent ergonomics. The only equivalent stand alone keyboard I can find does not have track pad scrolling. Why is there no decent keyboard trackpad combo out there?

3 out of 5 eggsGood board, buggy pad

Pros: Good board. Keys have good feel to them and are spaced properly. Touchpad has some great features using their software.

Cons: Media buttons are thin and have to be push down too far, I have big fingers and have a hard time with them.
Touchpad is kinda buggy. It keeps randomly jumping to the bottom of the page and when hovering over something to view it the cursor keeps blinking and you have to keep it moving slightly to get it to work. Not sure if this is a software or hardware issue. I am sending it back.

Other Thoughts: As usual NewEgg customer service Rocks!
I am considering the wireless ADESSO WKB-4400UB but because of the touchpad issue I am not sure about it. This was my first Adesso purchase.
I have always been impressed with Logitech products and am considering switching to the Logitech K400 but it does not have a number pad and NewEgg does not have it. :(

4 out of 5 eggsHas it's cons, but I think it's improving

Pros: Sensitive touchpad on a multimedia keyboard that isn't huge. These are not that common, so you take what you can get I suppose. I *need* an integrated multimedia keyboard/touchpad, and this is the best I've seen. The fact that the keyboard isn't 5 out of 5 is more a commentary on the low demand for this type of design. If everyone wanted one, they would improve. All about $'s

Cons: Stiff keys, mouse input hangs every so often (button doesn't release when you let go of the touchpad) so you have to tap again to release. Keys get electronically "stuck" meaning that the number '8' key, for example, gets stuck when you didn't even push it, so you get a row of '8888's' on the screen until you press another key. I really think this is caused by static electricity (ESD).

Other Thoughts: My macaw bit through the keyboard cable, so I had to get another one. On the new one, the key sensitivity has greatly improved. It's much easier to type now. Looks a little different too, so it must be model line improvement. I haven't had the electronically 'stuck' keys either. Only had the new one a week though, so, we'll see how it goes.

I've had to replace this keyboard a few times (dang bird) but it's never because of low quality or workmanship. So I've had several and they mostly behave the same way.

As long as they're making 'em, I'll keep buying.

For now, it earns another egg and a half, from 2.5 to 4.

5 out of 5 eggsAdesso AKB430UG keyboard

Pros: virtually silent, which was my only requirement. The integrated touch pad is a nice touch that I enjoy immensely. Am blissfully happy with my purchase.

Cons: haven't experienced any of the other reviewers concerns or other negative consequences of any kind.

Other Thoughts: I don't like a steeply angled keyboard, wrecks HAVOC with my carpal tunnel, so like the lower angle.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for Gaming

Pros: Nice feel to it, Wrist support is execelent.

Cons: Can perform 2 actions at once. I.E. you can not hold down one button and use another button along side it.... I got it for gaming, but you cannot run run diagonally with this keyboard. Not sure if you can even use Ctrl+Alt+Del.....

Other Thoughts: Will most likely buy another keyboard with a touchpad and see if its the same.

1 out of 5 eggshorrible

Pros: quiet, has touch pad

Cons: the membrane keys are of a very low quality, they must be pressed directly from above to reliably register a keystroke; a slight angle and keys are randomly missed. The tactile feedback is nonexistent. This makes it unsuitable for any serious typing.

The firmware in it occasionally loses its bearings and thinks that shift or control key is pressed; the only way to get it out of this is to unplug it and plug it back in.

Top right corner of the touchpad for the right mouse button is a very questionable idea -- the area is too large and it is too easy to land on it accidentally.

The retractable front feet are too short; they do not raise the keyboard appreciably.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for XP! ...when it works

Pros: This keyboard has great response in the keys and touchpad, quiet keys, and the hotkeys work perfect for plug n play in XP. The touchpad works great! And, unlike the other response, my leds work perfectly.

Cons: When this keyboard was initially sent to me it was D.O.A. But, after Newegg took care of all shipping and exchanging, for free, it works perfect to the way I need it to!

Other Thoughts: I don't have a need for the additional driver download that offers more customized features. Everything works really well in XP already.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: True "plug and play" out of the box. Keypad really saves my wrist! No longer get soreness from using a mouse. Hotkeys are a great feature.

Cons: Keys a little stiff...but I quickly adjusted.

Other Thoughts: First one arrived with LED lights DOA. Trouble contacting Adesso support via phone. However, they did respond to email and promptly replaced keyboard.
