2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing Keyboard

Pros: Great size, decent key layout and functionality, good trackball

Cons: Limited key travel makes touch typing very difficult

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers have reported that this keyboard occasionally drops keystrokes. The problem isn't with the RF, it's that the keyboard mechanics are stiff and the key travel is very limited. I was hoping to use this as a secondary keyboard, but it is simply not practical to type any significant amount of text. The size and functionality are great, but what a horrible typing experience. Hunters and peckers are probably okay, but touch typists beware.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Points & Bad Points

Pros: Probably the least expensive media center wireless keyboard with trackball that you can find that has complete set of media center control buttons.

Works as advertised. Range OK. Trackball OK. Scroll wheel OK.

Cons: Doesn't take much abuse. My kids have broke the battery compartment cover and broken off 9 keys on the right side, all by dropping onto a hardwood floor. Finding keys on the floor is annoying. I am buying a replacement unit since the original is losing keys fast. Kids are older now, hopefully it will last longer.

Other Thoughts: I have tried a number of wireless keyboard/pointing devices with my media center and this is the best. That doesn't mean its great, it just means the others have more issues.

Trackball is way better than gesture mice, touchpads, or joysticks. I have used multiple models of all of them. My closet is full of abandoned keyboards for this computer.

I also have an SMK mini keyboard. It's OK for thumb-typing short queries in Google or something but other than that it is a glorified remote control. The joystick works but is not as precise as a trackball.

Others have mentioned the annoying location of the sync button. I have accidently hit it a time or two. You get used to it.

It would be nice if it were more rugged.

5 out of 5 eggsLasts and Lasts

Pros: Works great with WIN7 MC HTPC
Will work from 20ft away
Has survived multiple drops from 2-3 ft onto wood floors
All functions and keys still work after 18 months
Uses standard batteries (AA I think), only had to replace once

Cons: Two of the rubber feet fell off, poor adhesive. Fixed with superglue, now they could only be removed with fire.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks _pretty_ good.

Pros: Good reception, Ergonomic.

Cons: Track ball is difficult to position in high-resolution environment.

Other Thoughts: I think I finally found mouse sensitivity settings that will work. But it was difficult to find settings where the mouse moved quickly enough across the screen but could still be positioned on links and buttons. If you try and spin the trackball too fast... it doesn't move at all.

2 out of 5 eggsBetter find something else

Pros: At the time of purchase it was the only wireless full-size keyboard with built-in mouse. Good keys and their layout. Extra control keys and buttons are not obtrusive. Easy to hold on laps.

Cons: 1. Poor quality for trackball and main mouse keys. Trackball easily gets clogged with dirt and mouse keys work poorly after 1 yr of usage.
2. Inconvenient location of Connect button. It is common to push the switch while the KB is on your laps and disconnect yourself from PC.
3. Non-existent tech support. Bought 3 of these and had a weird problem when devices refused to choose independent channels, so one KB was controlling two PCs at the same time. Was unable to reach tech support at all.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome HTPC Keyboard

Pros: Price, Build, Functions, Range of about 20+feet, haven't had any reception issues, and the usb receiver is plugged into the back of the pc, with a lot of wireless devices around it (ps3, router, wii, 2 laptops)

Cons: Sync button, not enough to take away an egg however

Other Thoughts: Some thoughts, to those high tech knowledge people that are writing reviews, read the manual before posting on here. The sync button is in a strange spot, but after ownership for 2 week's I've learned where it is and know not to push it, and if I do accidentally push it it takes all of about 30 seconds to re-sync. The keyboard layout did take some getting use to, but again not a big deal at all, 1 week and I knew the layout well. Also the biggest thing, I know there are people on here posting that you need to re-sync the thing using the usb receiver, this if false, just click a mouse button, and it comes back on...all in all an excellent product that I will recommend to others

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost great

Pros: - Decent wireless range (when battery isnt dead - see below)
- lots of various multimedia keys
- good trackball

Cons: - no backlight (for an ht device, that's a no-no)
- no way to turn off - while it does "sleep", this sleep mode kinda sucks - battery dies rather quickly in my experience
- need to glue a washer around the connect button so you don't accidentally hit it

Other Thoughts: As others have mentioned, you need to stick a washer over the connect button. What I have done, is used a regular ol' metal washer I had lying around (it just needs to be taller than the buttonnd taped it to the spot - this way, it's not as permanent as contact cement, and the tape gives an extra layer of protection against pushing that button.

2 things that would improve it - recess that connect button and put an on/off switch on it!

4 out of 5 eggsWorth It

Pros: It works!
Signal carries very far.
Useful buttons all around
Compact layout
light
ergonomic. It sits on your legs really nice.

Cons: The signal can be blocked if you put enough metal and/or flesh between the transmitter and the receiver.
The reset button can be pressed fairly easily unless covered.
Track ball feels gritty.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a HTPC. It works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsADESSO WKB-3200UB

Pros: Small size - Light weight - Good ergonomics - Trackball - Decent range - Battery Life.

Cons: Cost

Other Thoughts: I gave this keyboard 5 stars because I feel it is a very well thought out product that does exactly what it was designed to do. If you want to have a practical and functional home theater pc then this keyboard is a must have item. Every users mileage will vary based upon your own specific needs but in my case I have yet to experience anything that would cause me to take away a star. I think that if you use it for its intended purpose you will probably agree. If you are thinking of using this as a gaming keyboard then think again because it was not designed for that type of use it is for htpc users or general use and in that regard it does well. I use it from a distance of about ten feet and I have had no problems. I have been using the original batteries for over a month now. No problems at all so far.
