1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent weight for a wireless mini trackball keyboard.
Keys have good resistance when typing.
worked in range with my htpc

Cons: trackball fits loosely in its socket and has sloppy action.
you can hear the trackball and the batteries bang around in their housing when you pick it up quick.

biggest reason for 1 egg is that the keyboard has issues right out of the box with one section of the keyboard nonfunctional, ie; completely useless. i think i am gonna need the letters, I,O,P,J,K,L at some point in time

Other Thoughts: bought this model after reading all the user reviews on nearly every wireless model that newegg listed for sale.
my last adesso keyboard died prematurely as well. i should have learned something from that. now i gotta get an rma and pay for shipping to send this defective unit back?
i gotta be nuts!
newegg, i hope you will pick up the tab on this considering i waited a week to get a broken toy...

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: This thing has very good range, very easy to use, plug and play, excellent product. Love it.

Cons: The ball could be a little bigger, but thats personal. A scroll wheel would be very nice.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend it.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great for one year 7 months

Pros: Worked great. It does what it needs to to work a HTPC or any other computer. Not a great keyboard for writing letters or other heavy keyboard use.
Windows 7 recognized it right away on the first bootup of a new build.

Cons: Difficult to clean out trackball. It has a lot of screws that need to come out and some un snapping to clean out the track ball when it gets lint filled.

Other Thoughts: It up and died yesterday. I went with a Logitech k400 this time. Maybe it will last a bit longer.
I would have given it 5 stars if it had not died.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak Radio

Pros: Trackball and mouse buttons are in great positions for use.

Cons: The radio in this device has a range of only several feet. I've owned three different units and sent one out with an htpc I've build for a friend. One I returned for replacement b/c I thought the radio was broken. It turns out the range is no more than about 5 feet reliably with the receiving usb unit on the front of the cpu case. I have other wireless keyboards and mice that have absolutely no problems in the same environment and at least twice the range.

Other Thoughts: It you're looking for the range needed for an HTPC (home theater PC), nothing is more frustrating than having to get up or finagle the device closer to get it to work.

1 out of 5 eggsFollow-up review

Pros: Keyboard still works okay.

Cons: Trackball no longer works properly.
Adesso site is down, so RMA or return is looking doubtful.

Other Thoughts: This device was working adequately on my Windows 7 32-bit HTPC since September, until a few days ago when the trackball stopped responding properly (it will track vertically but not horizontally). I just wanted to give others a heads up.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge Improvement Over Older Models

Pros: The device takes 2 AA batteries vs. the 4 AAA batteries of older Adesso model wireless mini-keyboards. Big improvement in power handling... less voltage but bigger batteries for longer usage. Also, this one auto shuts off after 10 minutes (like the old one) but also includes an on/off switch if you're leaving for the night, etc. I'm not fond of track balls, but I actually got used to it very quickly. One other huge plus is the simplicity of syncing the keyboard and receiver: plug in the receiver, then press and hold the sync button on the bottom of the keyboard for a couple of seconds. Done deal! There's also supposed to be a red light somewhere to indicate low battery life, but I think that's on the receiver instead. Otherwise, the alphanumeric keys are nice and large, while the function and other less-used keys are smaller to keep the overall size of the keyboard small. Perfect.

Cons: Spacebar doesn't feel quite right. It's ok, but doesn't have much play compared to the other keys. So I find I miss a space once in a while until I get use to hitting it a little harder. When typing this review, I probably missed two spaces so far between words that I had to go back and fix. Just a matter of getting used to it.

Other Thoughts: Typed this review on this new keyboard. :-) Decent feel, worked right out of the box. Of special note is that this works PERFECTLY with a KVM switch. I have it on one right now. The keyboard and trackball work just fine. My earlier model Adesso with the trackpad worked, but the track pad didn't want to function correctly over a KVM's keyboard-only USB port. With this model, the trackball and mouse buttons work! For KVM users, this keyboard is perfect because it has an individual Scroll Lock key. The older model required the user to hold Function key down to press Scroll Lock. So this model is even more convenient. And its footprint is probably the smallest I've seen!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard for HTPC

Pros: Plug and play with XP and Vista
Good range and not line-of-sight
Built-in track ball and mouse keys work well
Decent tactile response on keyboard
Small profile, perfect for living room
Can be turned off to save batteries (a mixed blessing --- see Cons)

Cons: Keyboard defaults back to Num Lock when keyboard is turned off, you need to remember to press both the red Fn and Num Lock keys to disable after turning it back on. Not a ding, just a minor hassle and something to be aware of.

Other Thoughts: Foxconn R10-G3
Core 2 Duo E7500
Corsair 2GB DDR2 800
Sapphire Radeon HD 4350 (fanless)
LG Blu Ray combo drive (standard size)
WD 160GB 7200 RPM 3.5" HDD
Adesso Mini Trackball Keyboard
Rosewill WMC Remote
Vista Home Premium 32-bit

4 out of 5 eggsNice Keyboard

Pros: Smaller and lighter then other low cost wireless trackball/keyboards. Trackball is better then the joystick ones. Quality is decent. ON/OFF switch on the bottom is nice.

Cons: The ball is a bit lose for my liking. Range could be a bit better (especially if you put it on your lap). The range issue seems to plague all the < $100 HTPC keyboards though.

Other Thoughts: Unless you spend $100+ I doubt you will be 100% satisfied with any of the HTPC wireless keyboards.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and compact

Pros: The keyboard is nice and compact and worked as soon as I put the batteries in it, turned it on, and plugged into the USB key (Even before the system booted into the OS). The on/off switch is a nice feature.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This is a mini keyboard.

The track ball is in the upper right hand corner of the keyboard, while the buttons are in the upper left hand corner. It's a little awkward since I'm used to using a touchpad at the bottom of the keyboard. I didn't list this as a pro or a con because the more I use it, the more I'm getting used to it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great size, picked up and worked right off the bat. (used with Vista Home 64 so far)

Cons: Gave it 4 stars because button action's randomly kinda sticky/sluggish, at least with the space bar. (maybe it needs broke in?) Also, while NewEgg shipped fast as always, I coulda saved $12 at another site. Needed the order ASAP though.

Other Thoughts: Like another reviewer, I thought it was gonna require an RMA because 10 buttons seemed to be bound to the wrong characters. Adesso REALLY needs to include the FN/NumLock thing in the instructions. (hold them down simultaneously to "fix" the above issue) Also wish it was/came in bluetooth form.
