2 out of 5 eggsNew Batteries Monthly

Pros: - Nice looking device
- Soft feel on keys
- Touch pad

Cons: - Monthly Battery Changes (Purchased the device on 1/25/2015 and changed the batteries twice)
- Slow input device (the device pauses). Tried on two difference computers same problem.
- Price

Other Thoughts: I would stay away for this device. I purchased a Logitech wireless keyboard in 2004 that performs way better than this device.

3 out of 5 eggsAmazing idea, inconsistent execution

Pros: I originally bought 1 of these for my HTPC and it has worked out quite well except for the shift key not registering much of the time and the letters wearing off. It gets heavy use though and I don't ever look at the keys so I don' care about the lettering. When I say I use it heavily, I mean daily... for hours... and I only have to change batteries once every 3 months or so. This battery life surpassed my expectations.

It has a PERFECTLY placed track pad and I really like where the arrow keys are. It includes a number pad. It has great range... 10m or more in most cases for mine. It has a nice weight to it - not too much, not too little. I think the dimensions are perfect. It's very durable, surviving numerous drops from my sofa onto carpet without a scratch.

Cons: The problem however is that I bought 2 more some time later, and I suspect they must have switched to some cheaper components internally. I hardly use them other 2... maybe weekly, for a few minutes at a time... and I have to change the batteries AT LEAST monthly! It seems almost like every time I go to use them they're dead. I'm about to just throw them in the trash. It is not a signal problem and no keys are stuck down.

Also, the shift keys are pretty shoddy, even on the one that doesn't eat batteries. Especially on that one, it doesn't pick up that I'm holding down the right shift key most times, and I would consider myself to be an expert typist (~100wpm) and a discerning technology enthusiast. I'm also a pianist so it's definitely not an issue with my fingers.

All of the keys are kinda loose and really squishy, and they don't have too much travel, but you have to expect that in a keyboard of this variety. I wouldn't deduct points for that.

One more thing... I think it only can handle 3-4 keys simultaneously, so (as an example) if you're planning on flying a helicopter in Battlefield 4 with this you're probably going to crash constantly because the chopper won't respond to all your input. This is typical of this class of keyboard though so I don't take points off for that either -- just highlighting that limitation.

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these originally , and then several months later bought 2 more. The first one I got has been amazing. The other 2 have been tremendous disappointments. The battery life issue is enough to overshadow any satisfaction in the excellent layout of the input features.

Originally I would have said "I can't recommend this enough!" But after my experience with the 2 more recent ones I purchased, I would stop at "I can't recommend this."

If you buy this, do so at your own risk because you might get a good one or a lemon.

I would be glad to return my two "lemons" for new ones if Adesso reads this, but I would have no confidence it would improve the matter.

When I need to replace them, I will look for another brand with comparable features and layout.

I really wish all 3 of mine were as good as the first one I got.

5 out of 5 eggsMy favorite keyboard

Pros: Battery Life: I've used this keyboard on my main PC (livingroom HTPC) for over a year now. The use has been extensive and on a daily basis. In that time I've had to replace the batteries maybe 5 times, so battery life is awesome.

Wireless Range: Reception is excellent -- I normally use it at about 10', but it easily reaches 30', 2 rooms away.

Performance: I also have a wired Cherry MX mechanical keyboard hooked up that I got for intense gaming, but I struggle to really notice a difference. The track pad essentially targets desktop use, and it excels at that... it's as good as any track pad I've used.

Durability: Being the main keyboard in my livingroom, it's suffered it's share of falls off of the back of the sofa, drinks/food spilling onto it, cats laying on it, etc. The unit really shows no sign of abuse/misuse.

Overall: I'm writing this review as I purchase two more of these units - one for on my treadmill in my gym room and one for my bedroom HTPC because it is excellent in all dimensions, especially for the price of many other basic wireless keyboards.

Cons: The only thing I can think of here is kinda funny, and pretty common. The lettering wears off of the keys after about a year of heavy use. Pretty much everything down and left of my "E" key no longer bears its labeling, and the matte finish has worn off a little bit... but I haven't looked down to type in 20 years and would be fine if none of the keys had labels, so I don't really care about this.

The only other thing I just thought of is that this keyboard only comes in a "right-handed" version, so if you need to use the trackpad with your left hand, you will probably want to go with a more ambidextrous model.

Other Thoughts: As I indicated in the "pros" section, I love this keyboard and I just bought two more to add to my first. I think this layout is way better than the style that copies the layout of a typical laptop with the track pad in the front. off to the side is so nice because it's right there when you need it and you never accidentally trigger it.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother with this keyboard

Pros: The only pro here is the reason I bought it--the placement of the touchpad. That's where it ends.

Cons: Battery life is relatively short, but if that were the only issue I could deal with it.

After using this keyboard for six months, the printed letters on the heavily used keys wore off. This doesn't really bother me as I'm a fast touch typist, but it seems like fairly shoddy workmanship. In fairness, Adesso claims to be sending replacement key caps. I haven't yet received them, but I expect that I will.

The other problem with this keyboard is the touchpad itself--it is not very sensitive, and the scrolling is too invasive.

Although ostensibly a full-sized keypad, the keys are just a hair too compact for my taste. I'm an extremely accurate and fast typist, and after 6 months to adjust, I'm still hitting multiple keys quite often.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Range

Pros: RF, 30 foot range, Power switch for additional battery saving

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using with a Media PC connected to a Big Screen TV. Range allows me to use it from anywhere in the room. 2.4Ghz operations appears to play 'nice' with other 2.4Ghz devices. Wakes up instantly - a previous model I had required a couple of taps on ctrl or alt before you could start typing or use the touch pad.
