5 out of 5 eggsJust what I wanted

Pros: Has audio controls with a volume wheel which I specifically bought it for. I use them all the time, life is better. I enjoy the short laptop-style keys.

Cons: Minus key on number pad doesn't work. Audio controls feel squishy when you press them.

Other Thoughts: I could probably fix that minus key myself, but I never use it anyway so I don't. I don't really mind the audio control's squishy feeling, it just wasn't what I was expecting at first.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good keyboard

Pros: Firstly, I received this keyboard free from Targus (sponsorship of a team).

It's a nice light-weight massively functional keyboard. I'm currently using almost all of the function keys along the top (repurposed some of them for other functions). The music controls are great too and were essential in the transition from a laptop with music controls to a desktop setup.

Cons: They don't make a wireless version.

Other Thoughts: I'd use a Logitech keyboard, but none of those have all the features of this keyboard. I reverted to using this keyboard after finding that the Logitech K350 had poor connectivity and a keyboard layout I dislike.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: - Worked out of the box.
- Works with perfectly linux
- Sound control works perfectly with any computer i have plugged it into thus far.
- Quiet. (my typing won't bother other people in the room)
- All the media keys work with all front most programs (assuming that program needs the function)

Cons: none thus far.

Other Thoughts: I think i should stress this a little further. The sound dial is Exactly what i was looking for.
It seems to work flawlessly, theres no lag when using it, its large and obvious, and it's fun to use. I often find myself playing with it like a turn table... lol

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: keys are all where I like them
lots of shortcut keys
keys feel really nice

Cons: The feet! The feet that flip out are very flimsy and I broke one off the third day I had it, I glued it back but it doesn't sit completely flat anymore.

Other Thoughts: works great in linux including shortcut keys and volume

I thought the volume thing would be stupid but I actually kind of like it.

3 out of 5 eggsDrivers are TERRIBLE

Pros: Great looking and incredibly fast to type on. It has media keys, mute, sound volume and more built in. Even a Calculator button, email, My Computer button and more.

Cons: First, NO DRIVER DISKS came with the TWO keyboards I ordered. After searching, I found a WINDOWS 2000 driver listed on their site. Vista did NOT install drivers automatically like someone else stated, however XP with service pack 3 did. Once I installed the WINDOWS 2000 drivers for VIsta, it worked. By the way, the driver package is absolutely the worst piece of programming I've ever seen in my life. It's terrible. A blind coding monkey could have done a better job. One more con, when hitting the spacebar with your thumb, it tends to "snag" your thumb on the bottom below the spacebar and between the keyboard frame. Kinda sucks, but the keys are nice. You wouldn't think I'd give it a 3, but it is a decent board for the price if you have a high knowledge of computers and can figure out the driver issues.

Other Thoughts: The wheel for raising and lowering your sound works for windows total volume, not just wav or cd volume which is a nice plus.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Keys have a soft touch to them and I love the low profile. It was the only low profile keyboard with a normal keyboard layout I could find on Newegg at the time. I hate keyboards that mix it up or cram the arrow keys in there funny or move insert/home/delete/etc.

Cons: Drivers fail...I think they are from 1900. Didn't work on Windows 7 64-bit at all. Oh well, I didn't really plan on using them. I only cared about the low profile keys and keyboard layout.

The only other inconvenience is the fact that the keys have quite a severe bevel on the bottom side. This isn't a problem except for the ESC + F keys as it makes the key harder to find without looking because it seems so small. So, if you're blind, you might not want to get this keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat and cheap

Pros: This was a great keyboard for those looking for a more traditional laptop feel. Note to those: These keys are slimmer than most "slim" desktop keyboards. That is exactly what I wanted, though. Enough media keys without overloading the keyboard. Simple and small. I've had mine a couple years now. I love it!

Cons: Not a con for me, but maybe others. Not many media keys or extra functionality.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a scissor-switch keyboard

Pros: The keyboard is very attractive; the black and silver color scheme is nice on the eyes. The multimedia keys are small and stay out of your way. For a keyboard with this many functions shoved into it, it's got a rather small footprint.

The keyboard is very quiet, probably the single quietest keyboard I've ever used. This is a good selling point for those of us who tend to keep our significant others awake late at night with our loud typing.

Cons: I purchased this because it looked from the pictures to be very similar to a certain other manufacturer's discontinued line of inexpensive, slim scissor-switch keyboards. Be forewarned that in spite of being "slim" this is not a laptop-style scissor-switch keyboard. It is a regular old membrane keyboard, and not a very good one. The tactile feel to the keys is terrible, even for a cheap keyboard. The keys feel rubbery and are all of uniform resistance, so it takes as much effort to press a key with your pinky as your index finger. It actually hurts my fingers to use it for extended periods of time, which is not a good selling point. The cursor keys are especially rough.

The volume control is very awkward. Coming from other keyboards with volume wheels, this one seemed very difficult to spin without moving your finger around the circumference like you're dialing a rotary phone. The resistance on it is uselessly high; the keyboard actually flops around when you move the wheel.

Other Thoughts: I haven't attempted to use the custom drivers, as everything works more or less out of the box in Windows 7. Defer to other reviewers for their opinions on this topic.

4 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: standard layout, full size, slim profile with half-height keys. lots of media/shortcut keys and volume control.

Cons: only complaint i have is, the ENTER key doesnt like to be hit on its far left side. that means a bit of a stretch for my pinky finger to hit in the center. not as big a problem as i expected it would be, though.

Other Thoughts: i've been programming for over 20 years, and a familiar (standard) keyboard layout is ideal for me. this meets that requirement. i prefer laptop-style keys and while this gets pretty close, its not quite the same. still, if this keyboard holds up for a year i'll be happy.

5 out of 5 eggsOutlasted other brand slim keyboards!

Pros: It's a keyboard. It works. I bought it for the laptop style low-profile keys and for the black and silver look. I previously had owned a different low-profile black and silver keyboard of another brand (also purchased from Newegg), but after a few months use, the silver rubbed off. I've owned this keyboard for more than a year and it still looks great! And it still works like a charm. It's comfortable if you like the low-profile keys, and it has the full keyboard layout. It fits the criteria I had, so much so that I bought a second one for my other computer.

Cons: None that I know of.
