4 out of 5 eggsWorks well . . . for a while

Pros: The adjustable backlighting is very cool, especially if you like to game in the dark. The key size is perfect.

Cons: I never could get the C1-C12 keys to work, even after years of ownership. Admittedly, I have put it through a lot of heavy use over the past five years, but the backlighting finally gave out. For the money this unit cost me, it should've lasted indefinitely.

Other Thoughts: I loved this keyboard, but the C-keys never did work, regardless of driver updates, and the lighting finally just plain stopped after five years of use.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming/function/editing keyboard

Pros: I got this in 2009 and I still use it today in 2012 (almost 2013). Works with Windows 8 and I love the extra function keys provided. I get so used to the 12 vertical functions keys that I wish every keyboard had them.

Prevents windows key from being pressed while gaming, a must have for windows gamers

Cons: Touch sensors on the top panel I/O are a pain to press. I had to mimic some of these functions in the custom function keys instead.

Other Thoughts: I've had this for 4 years and not even 1 key has worn off or been damaged.

5 out of 5 eggsunbeatable

Pros: I had this keyboard for my old system that sadly got stolen, keyboard and all. I just finished building a new system and am using an old "back of the garage" keyboard until i get a new one. I was thinking of getting something different, but the cyborg keeps calling me back. It is just so well built, durable, and the backlighting is an absolute LIFESAVER! I look forward to my brand new one coming soon (from someone other than the egg sadly since they dont seem to carry it anymore)

Cons: one of the back support legs broke, but seeing as that was after 4+ years of heavy use, that doesnt seem like much of a con

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice gaming kb

Pros: Programmable array of lighted keys is great.
Easy to clean once a year or so. Keys are attached to a panel and come out as a complete unit ready to be washed. Then dry completely, pop back in and screw back together. It will be just like new. (Don't wash the delicate rubber membrane or anything else but the kb and outer shell.)
Metal coated silver keys feel nice.
Multimedia 'keys' are actually capacitance switches that react to touch rather than pressing -- very cool. The volume scale lights up like a signal strength bar on a phone, also very cool.

Cons: (Not really cons, but things that need to be considered before purchase and during use.) Very wide -- measure the area you have available before purchase!
Mouse may slide under edge on occasion because the programmable side keys are raised.

Other Thoughts: I've had mine for several years -- no problems. I don't use all the programmable keys however, so my opinion relates to using it as a lighted, gamer kb for which it's great.
I also have the Steelseries MERC Stealth. I wore the coating off the game keys (WASD), and some of the letters became distorted (it's not laser-etched plastic like this one and the Eclipse series, which I also like). This one always works fine with no sign of wear.
The keys still have a slight texture, and I've never had a problem typing or gaming. The MERC's switches started to react sluggishly from wear; not a problem with the Cyborg.
The Mad Catz PK24 Eclipse III at W@lmart and elsewhere is the exact same kb.
Personally, I prefer the feel of my IBM keyboard, but that's only a minor consideration which I become aware of when I'm using it for computer repair.
I highly recommend this kb for everything; especially gaming.

3 out of 5 eggsfail do not buy

Pros: worked flawlessly for about 11 months.

Cons: then about 8 or 9 keys died and they dont have support basically. They don't respond to emails and their so called tech support line just plays elevator music for 20 mins or so and then hangs up on you.

Other Thoughts: Very disappointed because i've used saitek keyboards for about 6 years now with no problems at all and now this. screw saitek

4 out of 5 eggsSweet but not fully functional

Pros: Backlit keys
media controls
brightness and color adjustments
adjustable rake
detachable wrist rest
headphone and mic pass thru
Disable the windows key in Cyborg Mode

Cons: USB passthrough is only USB 1.1 not 2.0
Several keys didn't work right out of the box
the lowest brightness setting is rather bright and it just gets brighter
Software is a pain, I can't figure out what I can program the side buttons for or how to do it.

Other Thoughts: I bought mine on e bay and it was listed as brand new, When I got it several keys didn't work and the seller didn't respond to my emails to replace it even though his listing stated to contact him with any problems. I keep hitting the caps lock key because of my old keyboards set up but I'll get used to eventually I'm sure.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for first year

Pros: The keyboard worked well for the first year i was using it. No problems, i reviewed the keyboard b4 with 5 eggs for satisfaction.

Cons: After about a year they keys started going, first the eight, second it was the shift and 2(they only work backwards 2 then shift), then after that the comma, then after that the i, and near the same time went the k. So at any point if i want to type a full sentence it becomes a challenging feat.

Other Thoughts: Only get this keyboard if you plan to replace it soon. The features are nice but hardly long lasting. NOTiCE HOW THE WARRANTY iS ONLY A YEAR. oh and btw i have to copy paste the letters i need most often

3 out of 5 eggsUp to par

Pros: The backlighting is great and the does most of what I want it to do with ease.

Cons: After about 2 weeks my "number three" key went out on me and now the letter "C" is starting to go aswell. Not to mention that the micro key instructions aren't for this keyboard and are kinda hard to get to work for new users.

Other Thoughts: If u play EVE-Online this keyboard is great and like being able to see what you are typing at night without the use of lamp near your desk then I recommend this product.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper cool!

Pros: I love this thing, looks like it was ripped out of a klingon ship's console. The customizable back-lighting for each keyboard region - frikkin awesome!

Cons: didn't come with a klingon ship

Other Thoughts: If you want the coolest looking keyboard out there - this is it. I don't like logitech's - wow so it has a screen on it... isn't that what your monitor is for?
