S.T.R.I.K.E. 7

Fully Modular for Unparalleled Customization Options

Created by and for professional, hardcore gamers, S.T.R.I.K.E.7's five-part structure makes it the world's most adjustable gaming keyboard – the weapon of choice for RPG, FPS, MMO, RTS, and MOBA players. The full metal chassis is much stronger than most gaming keyboards, and the modular design, borrowed from the award-winning R.A.T. Gaming Mouse, frees you to interlock only the components which best suit your gaming style. Innovation doesn't stop with modularity – S.T.R.I.K.E.7 features a TFT-LCD touchscreen, full halo-effect RGB backlighting, 12 built-in applications, and powerful support for macro programming. Armed with total control of your keyboard's fit, size, color, sound and programming, you can now play your favorite games exactly how you like to play them.

Uncomplicated Macro Programming

An intuitive graphical interface vastly simplifies macro programming. Assign single or multiple keystrokes – complete with custom timings – to macro keys or interface icons and then easily fine-tune your settings. This ability is essential for fast-paced games which require clear but complex multi-key actions. A single button press can buy your favorite weapon and armor setup in Counterstrike, or cast a sequence of your best abilities and spells in World of Warcraft. Three different modes can store macros – simply switch modes mid-game to triple your available commands. Custom profiles can be published to share with your community and saved for later recall, allowing for a seamless transition to another gaming PC. S.T.R.I.K.E.7 supports any PC game or app, including Star Wars: The Old Republic, Minecraft, Rust, Titanfall, Assassin's Creed, Ventrilo, Xsplit, and more.

Software Development Kit Generates Custom Content

An SDK empowers developers, third-party publishers, and anyone with C++ or C# knowhow to generate content for integration into the V.E.N.O.M. LCD touchscreen. Those without programming skills can still access content created by the gaming community. V.E.N.O.M. interaction built into PC games enables touch control of ancillary in-game interfaces such as maps and inventory selection.

S.T.R.I.K.E. 7

Key Membrane Optimized for Responsiveness

S.T.R.I.K.E.7 embodies the best characteristics of popular mechanical switches to create the perfect key response for PC gaming. The specially engineered P.U.L.S.E. membrane mimics the tactile feel generated by the mechanical keys often preferred by gamers, but without excess noise. S.T.R.I.K.E.7's key bed delivers maximum responsiveness courtesy of a perfectly optimized reset point. The membrane also features enhanced anti-ghosting in the core WASD and cursor sectors. To help ensure crucial in-game actions report exactly as needed, you can hold down up to seven keys at the same time.

S.T.R.I.K.E. 7

Customizable RGB Backlighting Color-matches Gaming Setups

Full halo-effect RGB backlighting – with an astonishing 16 million color variations – matches the keyboard to your gaming rig. And, the keys' laser- etched, lacquered light guides are ideal for gaming in dim environments.

S.T.R.I.K.E. 7

Control Module with V.E.N.O.M. TFT-LCD Touchscreen

Easily navigate the keyboard's many functions with the intuitive V.E.N.O.M. touchscreen. Program advanced macros, adjust backlighting, and take in-game control of external functions. Balance game and chat volumes, launch apps and websites, even initiate and control TeamSpeak – all with a few simple finger taps. Mad Catz collaborated with TeamSpeak's development team to integrate their state-of-the-art chat technology into the S.T.R.I.K.E.7. Once the TeamSpeak application is running on the keyboard's V.E.N.O.M. touchscreen, you can select specific game rooms to check who is online and who is actively talking. You can even control the chat volume from within the game you are playing, removing the need to pause and switch programs.

S.T.R.I.K.E. 7

Main Keyboard

The main keyboard's small footprint gives your mouse plenty of space for large, sweeping movements. Speedy, double-tap-friendly keys respond to an optimized 60g of actuation force and reset at the perfect level. Interchangeable WASD and cursor keys include standard, contoured, and rubber-edged versions. Precise, customizable, and even helping to reduce muscle fatigue, S.T.R.I.K.E.7 is an ideal weapon during gaming marathons.

S.T.R.I.K.E. 7

NumPad & Palm/Wrist Rests

Just like the Control Module, the NumPad is capable of loose- or fix-mounted positioning, and the included set of longer wires bolsters your arrangement options. Supportive hardware promotes extended comfort, and the height-adjustable, active palm rest's thumb wheel and action button add more fingertip controls. 2 out of 5 eggsNever buying Madcatz again

Pros: LCD screen, precise keysstrokes, tough construction material

Cons: If its not working out of the box Madcatz doesnt offer shipping to get it replaced. The program that comes with it is very basic and barely functions. Some of the apps for example the controlling the media player stop working randomly and you have to restart the process to get them working again.

Other Thoughts: It has already had the same problem twice. The first one i got started randomly rebooting. Had to pay about 30 bucks shipping to get it replaced. What company these days doesnt pay for shipping when you get a defective product right out of the box. After replacement it has been 5 months and it has started rebooting again. Now if i want to get it replaced again thats another 30 dollars for shipping. I should have just returned it the first time it came broken out of the box and just gotten a different brand keyboard.

First time buying madcatz, definately never going to buy again. Only gave it two stars cause in terms of the materials they used it is a very solid and would be durable if the tech parts would last longer.

3 out of 5 eggsBehind the Curve

Pros: Versatility, form, function, customizable, appearance, style, etc... Wow, I am impressed with what was done with just a keyboard.

Cons: Lets get with the times Mad Catz.... Windows 7 is over lets work on getting all the kinks out of working with Windows 8 and higher.

3 out of 5 eggsThis kitty doesn't play with Windows 8 at all

Pros: Awesome looking keyboard that offers every little thing you could hope for.

Cons: Keyboard is awesome in every way except one.... Will not load any of the software in Windows 8 Platform. All of the macros and settings are created on your computer and then migrated to the Pod, but since Windows 8 won't load the software you are essentially left with a pretty awesome looking keyboard with a brain dead Pod that can't get any information. Even trying to run the software in compatibility mode doesn't work. In all fairness, the packaging doesn't say it will run with Windows 8, but it doesn't say it won't either. Their website offers absolutely no help or hope of a work around.

Other Thoughts: I am keeping the keyboard hoping that at some point Mad Catz will fix the software. In the meantime it is just a nicely lit, good response gaming keyboard....but without the functionality of the POD it is no better than a $20 keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat KB, Drivers are not...

Pros: Very nice keyboard, I love the look and it's very comfortable on my wrists. I have a RAT 9 mouse and I figured what the hell why not get something that matches a little bit. I love the customization with the keyboard as well as the lcd screen. Recently there was a update that allowed one to add the strike 7 to AIDA64 so you can add screen and all kinds of stuff to the lcd.

The keyboard is rather sturdy of course the metal frame helps. I know a lot of people knock the membrane keys but i really hate the mechanical key noise so for me I could care less.

Cons: Really the biggest problem I have with the board is getting it set up. I tried for some time to just load the driver for the board. I only could get to the splash screen that said connect the usb and then nothing, the next button would not work. I was using the latest driver 7_0_33_91_x64 but nothing. I then found 7_0_28_20_x64 driver and the darn thing installed. After that I installed the new software and I was golden.

Installing the firmware was easy after the driver and software was done. After installing the new firmware I rebooted and had my boot screen freeze then restart. After some digging found out that if you have a x58 MB this keyboard doesn't like you. I tried unplugging the power but I just got a keyboard error. So until I upgrade I have a old KB plugged in on the floor.

Other Thoughts: Besides the work around with the drivers and the board not liking to boot on a x58 platform it's a great keyboard. I was looking at the G19 for some time but I like the over all look and the customization on this guy a lot more. Sure it's a bit high on the price but it has a lot to offer as well.

1 out of 5 eggs****Terrible******

Pros: um looks cool.

Cons: doesnt work, waste of money, made very cheap.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 at the same time 1 just stopped working after a month, powers on powers off randomly wont type. Then second I attempted to plug it in after moving my pc desk and the prong on the plug just fell off in my hand. There are many many keyboards out there that are much better options, logitech Gseries, Razer keyboards, a cheap 5.99 keyboard, all are much better options then this one. If you have problems with the keyboard expect to pay to send it in for warranty work. As they do not cover shipping it to them and then you will be without a keyboard for a couple weeks which isnt an issue bcuz instead of going through this hassle just buy 2 other brand keyboards and still save on the price of this waste of space.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat idea terrible support

Pros: The keyboard has some unique features and the customization is nice.

Cons: the LCD screen is wasted without any added aps that were promised. After purchasing the keyboard I was using it on my laptop and the keyboard would suffer random reboots. After trying it out on my home pc I was having the same issues. I sent several emails to support and received nothing in return. The keyboard is unreliable in any gaming situation due to the loss of control when the board is rebooting. I would not recommend this keyboard to anyone unless they want an expensive paper weight.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks good for me

Pros: I know that everyone hates that it does not have mechanical keys but personally I hate how loud the mechanical keys are and this keyboard gives you the safe feel as mechanical keys but without the mechanical part and noise. I like that I can pin any program that I want to the touch screen. I wrote a batch program for my computer that will shutdown the computer in 40 mins or so.

Cons: The keyboard often forgets your macro settings for the dam thing! I only use macro keys while playing mmos and this is not an mmo keyboard at all.

Other Thoughts: For the comfort that the keyboard give you I would but another one but for the price of the other functionality its not worth it.

1 out of 5 eggsNice Keyboard, Bad Power Supply, No tech support

Pros: Got keyboard, put it together, hooked it up, everything worked but could not update the bios.(yeah it has one). Nice alum. back keep it all in place nice braided cables. Display is bright and responsive to the touch.

Cons: Came home one day about a week later, no lights on keyboard and USB bus on back does not work. Called them, got a person who said ship it to us and we will repair/replace it. He didn't want to trouble shoot, when I asked his assistance to troubleshoot he told me to install it on a different computer. I know electrical and PC so I tested the Power supply and 0 Volt. Went down to Radio shack got a new power supply and everything works again including updating the bios. They had me open a case online and the website acknowledged it. Nothing since.

Other Thoughts: Hardware monitoring screen would be nice, a variety of screens other than the few you have. You can make any picture into and icon for our macro's.

4 out of 5 eggsFun keyboard!

Pros: How cool is having a screen for your keyboard? Very cool. This is a quality built piece of kit, the metal frame keeps the keyboard from twisting or warping(not that you should be using force) The hardware goes together easily and has good form/function throughout. My reason for purchasing this keyboard was not actually just the screen but the size. I have a rather small desk that is full of monitors so I can't use some of the goliath keyboards out there. I installed the screen on the main keyboard and replaced my belkin game pad with the numpad/arrow key section. I installed the macro buttons on that as well. I now have a short keyboard for most use and just plug in the numpad side when I play certain games.

Cons: This may have been a one off but my cap lock key occasionally sticks, I can honestly say no food or drink has touched this keyboard within the two weeks I have used it but as I don't use this key often it doesn't bother me.

Other Thoughts: I would buy again because this fits my needs and looks great doing it!

1 out of 5 eggsworst keyboard i have ever owned

Pros: no pros

Cons: worst keyboard ever 1 month after purchase i removed the number pad part to put it on the other side of the keyboard but when i tried to plug it back in it broke the whole keyboard and the keyboard wont work until i unplug every thing and then plug it back in without the number pad. also the touch screen is useless and moving the cables at all disconnects the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: no where near worth the money, its a $300 keyboard and i wouldnt even pay for it if it was $50 DO NOT BUY
