5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Its nice all around, the metallic painted keys dont wear out

Cons: Its big

Other Thoughts: Mine broke and madcatz replaced it free of charge, i dont even recall paying for shipping, then they sent me a less durable (skin and graphhics) COD MW2 keyboard which is the same thing but worse because the camo its skined in peels and it just looks ugly, also my keys are begining to fade, whree the metallic ones were

5 out of 5 eggsFor More Than Just Gaming

Pros: Key reaction is amazing. Lighted keys can be customized. Comes with presets for several creative software's, including Adobe products

Cons: Blue is not a color choice for lighted keys.

Other Thoughts: Great keyboard for its price point

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Fantastic looks. Nice and solid, feels hefty, no sliding around. Easy to program game keys. Multi-zone lighting with several independent colors and several independent brightness levels, all controllable right from the touch-panel, is a great touch. Comfortable, nice feel to the keys, responsive.

Cons: Not sure if this is a keyboard or a driver conflict issue (see below), so I'm not taking off an egg, but it's not unusual for the game keys/lighting functions/touch panel to not work when it gets plugged in (this is used on a media center computer in the living room with a 4 year old roaming the house, so it doesn't stay connected when not in use). Unplugging and plugging it back in gets all the functions back. Just a minor annoyance.

Having the USB port is nice, but since you have to use two USB ports on the computer in order for it to work, you don't gain anything - I could as easily plug the mouse into the same port on my front panel as I use for the second keyboard plug.

Other Thoughts: Like many casual gamers that need access to the tilde ( ~ ) key to bring up a console, I had to remove the Microsoft IR keyboard drivers in order for the ~ key to work in some of my games. However, I found out that the next time I plugged in my V.7, Win7 re-installed those keyboard drivers. Instead of uninstalling the IR drivers, CHANGE them to a generic HID compliant device, you'll still have full functionality in the V.7, the ~ key will work, and the IR drivers won't automatically re-install.

5 out of 5 eggsnice keyboard

Pros: great feel, good solid keys, the metal keys where gamers use most is a great touch. backlighting is awsome, easy to program. usb and audio port pass through is nice.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: great value. would be better if the software came on cd but not worth removing an egg for

5 out of 5 eggsMadCatz / Cyborg V7

Pros: I bought this for a customer who wanted a gaming keyboard for his laptop, and eventually to use with his desktop. He loves the keyboard, and was amazed at the price.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: It requires two USB plugs to function fully, so make sure you have two USB ports next to eachother.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad...

Pros: I like the style, the touch panel at the top for adjusting lights/audio are simple and to the point.

The keys are exceptionally smooth and quiet.

The keyboard feels solid and the metallic keys are kinda cool.

Cons: The wristpad is nice to look at but one hand goes right in the center of the notch. It's a gaming keyboard, so I suppose the assumption is that most of the time the right hand will be on the mouse, so I didn't remove any eggs for this, per se.

The lighting is uneven and fades at the edges, not to mention the bleeding around wasd. The space bar and touch panel lighting is especially poor. Looking under the keys reveals a poorly painted translucent back plate...I'd almost prefer to have it completely unpainted for more light.

The software is terrible, imo. The keys are for macros only...I couldn't find a way to use them to launch programs or for browsing/media player commands.

Other Thoughts: Not very good if you're going to be typing for more than 15 minutes at a time, but as far as gaming, it's a good board with good options.

2 out of 5 eggsLove it but broke my usb ports

Pros: The keys are very smooth and the options are amazing.

Cons: Too big for my roll out keyboard area.

Other Thoughts: After I spilled some water I had to quickly power down my computer by flipping the surge protector off. The 2 USB ports that the keyboard was using no longer work. I had about 5 different things in and only the keyboard USB ports no longer work. Don't buy it if you ever feel like you would need to power down your computer fast.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for your buck

Pros: Solid construction, mechanical keys, 5 colors of backlighting with endless customization options, touch-screen buttons are responsive and actually useful.

Cons: Backlighting tends to "bleed" into other sections of the keyboard. For instance, if I have the "WASD" section set to red, it combines slightly with the rest of the keys if they are set to a different color. Although, this is a minor annoyance at best. The only other issue I've noticed is that the attachable wrist-rest has an indentation in the middle, making it somewhat strange feeling to type with your right hand, as it is only resting on about half of the keyboard. You'll get use to this however, so this does not effect the rating.

Other Thoughts: I ran into some slight hiccups when installing the keyboard for the first time; my computer didn't recognize it for some reason. Restarting the computer and trying again alleviated this issue however, so it may have been my fault. For this price however, Mad Catz delivers a high-end, affordable keyboard with more options then the over-priced Razer series.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I went from a very basic/lightweight wireless Microsoft keyboard to this beast. It has weight and heft in a way that gives you confidence in the strength and durability of the design. Fully backlit keyboard is amazing, with sectional lighting to top it off. The touch controls at the top may look cheap-ish but they are very responsive and I have not had problems with missed presses.

Cons: Not the most ergonomic keyboard out there. May get hand cramps 3 hours into playing Battlefield 3. This is nit-picking but the light from different coloured sections may leak. For example I have the WASD keys set to red and they leak into the surrounding green-lit keys. Nothing to cry over though.

Other Thoughts: For a sub $100 keyboard this has amazing features. Multicolour back lighting and different colours in different areas with 4 brightness + Off settings.
Worth the coin!
