1 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Terrible

Pros: It looks somewhat nice and lightweight but like the stereotypical popular girl in high school, that is all it has going for it.

Cons: You have to be like 3 inches away from the dongle for it to work and even then its intermittent. Its terrible, absolutely terrible, never have I been compelled to actually write a bad review as this one.

I tried different USB slots, I tried restarting, research was no help. I will say it did work at a range of further than four inches for a second then quit. Again repeated the steps after that to no avail. I really hope I can get my money back.

IOGEAR I have seen your responses in other peoples reviews and I must say I do admire companies that actually look through reviews and offer to help. However, you present your self in the most uncaring manner. Also, you always say "it shouldn't work like that". YOU DON'T SAY! You think I would buy a product if on the front it said "NEW FEATURE PLUG AND NOT PLAY, guaranteed to not work and you don't get your money back". I would hop on that about as fast a tortoise swimming through molasses in winter after he just smoked a whole bag of weed. Seriously I know know why you call your selves IOgear, I OWE GEAR. You product is about as terrible as that pun I made.

3 out of 5 eggsThis is a good product, and a bad product.

Pros: 5 button mouse, very smooth movement on the mouse as far as how easy it slides compared to my first mouse. My keyboard doesn't seem to fall into eternal sleep like described in other reviews. KEEP KEYBOARD PARELLEL TO THE FLOOR TO TYPE!

Cons: The keyboard MUST be flat!!! Do not try relaxing and kicking back in the recliner and typing with your keyboard tilted it will not work well at all. I just figured this out because i was about to throw it across the room and I was going to show my girlfriend how bad it was and i put the recliner down putting my lap in a parrellel position to the floor and it is working like a normal keyboard. ery glad i figured this out because I was about to hulk out on this keyboard. still very upset I spet 40.99 and now it is 36.99. sorry for my gramatical mistakes but you can manage to read it...The main thing is u gotta keep the keyboard flat!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for the inconvenience. Try placing the USB receiver in a front usb port of your computer and see if this corrects the issue are having. It is possible that your body is blocking the signal however we have duplicated this problem here. To better service you and understand your set up, please feel to contact our customer support at 1-866-946-4327 or email us: support@iogear.com. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

5 out of 5 eggsA little flimsy, but otherwise very good

Pros: great battery life, micro sized receiver, good range, good responsiveness

Cons: a little flimsy, but still holding up.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this as my previous keyboard was stolen along with my computer.
So far it was dropped once onto a hardwood floor and is seems a little bit weak as far as the plastic, but it does work well and over a very far distance if needed.
I like how the mouse can run on one battery since I lost one of the batteries when I dropped it.
Yesterday the batteries that came with the keyboard finally died, the mouse is still working on it's original single AA battery. That's about 8 months on the included batteries.
It's very responsive for a wireless unit and I am happy at the micro size of the receiver which is much nicer than my previous unit which was the size of the mouse.
I was thinking about picking up another one, but maybe after the holidays.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Light weight, mouse fits my hand well, no hassle to setup

Cons: My first day of use was perfect, but when I turned on the computer the next day, at random it would think I was using keys that I wasn't. E.g. Pushing Ctrl would bring up the Start Menu, pushing W would give me a J. It was just weird. Still not sure what is causing it. If it continues I will probably end up returning it and getting a different one.

Manufacturer Response:

First, thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. The product should not behave as you described. Please contact our customer service at email: support@iogear.com and let us know in more detail on when and how you’re having this experience. We strive to ensure our customers are serviced with a properly working unit to exceed your satisfaction. Again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

3 out of 5 eggsNot spill resistant. 1 spill, fried.

Pros: Mouse is comfortable and works great. The range in my living room is 15' and works great for both the keyboard and mouse. They don't have to have a direct line-of-sight to the USB receiver either. I like how each is lightweight and the buttons on both work nice. Battery life seems pretty good too, at least with the mouse. Not sure about the keyboard for reasons noted below.

Cons: The first week of owning this, my roommate spilled his soda on the keyboard and it was ruined. Only two keys would work. The advertised "Spill-Resistant" on the box is bogus in this case. I looked inside the keyboard and multiple circuits were fried. Iogear customer service agreed to look at the keyboard as a replacement if I shipped the keyboard/mouse combo to them. The cost of shipping (each way) and no guarantee it would be replaced wasn't worth it since the overall price is $40 or less shipped most places. Iogear seemed helpful, but my falsely advertised keyboard never got replaced and they closed my warranty case in a few days, before I even made a decision on what to do. Not all their doing I'm stuck with a bunk keyboard, buying online and having a clumsy roommate are at fault as well.

Other Thoughts: Overall great product in my opinion for a HTPC. Just don't spill anything on your "spill resistant" keyboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. Spill resistant does not mean spill proof. Soda is a very sticky substance. A can of water would not have the same effect. You can send the keyboard in and we will look at it. If it is not determined to be customer abuse it will most likely be replaced however we cannot make any guarantees until the keyboard is received. Again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse, terrible keyboard

Pros: Very impressed with the mouse. It seems to have a very good range, is comfortable, has mouse sensitivity adjustment buttons (yes!!), and most importantly has excellent response times when gaming.

The keys on the keyboard have a nice feel in my opinion, also very thin and lightweight.

Cons: The keyboard cuts out while gaming (even new batteries). If a keyboard can't register presses, that is a deal breaker.
When holding the keyboard from one end, it creaks quite a bit. It isn't a problem, but it does feel cheap.
Also, I don't like the placement of the backslash and enter keys.

Other Thoughts: [Actually didn't buy this through newegg, but from a different store. Putting my review here since a lot of people will see it.]

Buy this mouse on its own. The keyboard is not worth it.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Keyboard, affordable price.

Pros: Unit is very sturdy and types quite silently, keys are responsive as well as mouse. Good for casual to light gaming and i currently use it as my main set up with tropico and black and white two as well as a few rts's with no lag.

Cons: none that I can think of, the key spacing feels like it's a bit off but that might just be me getting used to a new keyboard. The spill proof feature is great as my girlfriend is super clumsy and has already dropped it several times to no ill effect.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT LONG RANGE

Pros: Keyboard is lightweight, and simple design I was looking for. Nice rubber grip on the mousewheel, and good button action on the keyboard and mouse. I like the small amount of play on the keys similar to a notebook which is what I was looking for.

Cons: This thing is not long range at all. The keyboard is terrible for gaming because the keys cut out when you're holding them down and if you're further than 4 feet away from the dongle there's no response at all. The mouse isn't much better in terms of signal strength and cutting out, and the shape makes it awkward to pick up. The bottom edge flairs out so your hand slips off of it.

Other Thoughts: One more pro: smashing these things in the middle of the street was SO SATISFYING

Manufacturer Response:

First, thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. The product should not behave as you described. I will forward your comments to the product manager for his review. Please contact our customer service at email: support@iogear.com and let us know in more detail on when and how you’re having this experience. 5 out of 5 eggsWireless At Last

Pros: 1. Being able to move keyboard and mouse about as I sit on the couch lazily = COMFORT FACTOR.
2. Simple to hook up.
3. Distance is not a problem.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy that I no longer have to trip over any wires of a keyboard and mouse while accessing my computer from my couch.

3 out of 5 eggsGood and bad.

Pros: Well, it's a keyboard/mouse combo. This thing has great range. Battery life seems reasonable so far. The mouse is one of the better ones I've used.

Cons: This may just be a personal thing, but I hate the way the keys were designed. Namely the return key. It's shapd somewhat funky, and I ALWAYS manage to hit the backslash key when I try to hit the return key. Whether you're writing out code or just searching google, this can be a major PITA.

Also, the keys don't give the best feedback. But hey, it's hard to find a good keyboard these days.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am unimpressed. The range is great, and the mouse does it's job. The keyboard definitely leaves something to be desired. I bought this on the advice of a co-worker, as he has used IO Gear products for years. And yes, I would buy IO Gear again. But I'll be looking more closely at the keyboard layout next time.
