3 out of 5 eggsstill kicking

Pros: light up, cheap, light weight

Cons: The left tab button never worked. I did a build for a customer and she like this keyboard but she used photoshop and I guess that button is important. It is for me as well so I use it for my shop keyboard. I started to RMA this but never got around to it.

2 out of 5 eggsFollowup to my post of 7-13-2007

Pros: Keyboard is nice when new (if you don't get one that dies in a week). Backlight is makes keyboard easy to use in the dark, but not excessively bright.

Cons: As stated previously, the keycaps are decals which rub off fairly easy. My first unit's backlight failed within a week. After posting a review 7-13-2007, several of the keys have become hard to press for a touch typist and the most commonly keys lettering has long been gone. As of last week, the backlighting on this 2nd keyboard quit.

Other Thoughts: Now, the same question....would I buy another one? NO. I have been looking for another keyboard and have considered Logitech's G11 and G15, Saitek's Eclipse II and found that Logisys has a new Multimedia keyboard similar to this one (KB606SL) with more programmable keys. I considered it until the backlighting failed on this one. Now I will not even consider the Logisys. The Logitech G11 is really nice except that Logitech does not support any of their products when used with a KVM switch (which I am using). So, I have just purchased the new Saitek Cyborg as a replacement. Will let folks know how that works out.

2 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Price was good. Nice looking keyboard.

Cons: Defective, Had stuck keys causing pc to lockup and or screen flash. happened after just a few days but took a while to figure out what was causiing the problem with system and now is past 30 return policy.

Other Thoughts: Really not happy with New Egg selling junk. This device should not be offered on there site in my opinion.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: The keyboard is a lot nicer looking than I expected. Nice silver finish. Keys light up well. Nice smooth typing - more like a notebook keyboard

Cons: I hate the tiny backspace key.. The Media Keys don't light up.. which is dumb cause everyone knows where the letters and numbers are.. but media keys are normally differ from keyboard to keyboard.

Other Thoughts: The light hasn't died.. Hope it doesn't.. but it was only twenty bucks.. I can get over the little backspace key..

2 out of 5 eggsLogisys KB606

Pros: Seemingly has all the right buttons with add ons such as volume and mail, internet and so on.

Cons: Light died after a few months, no reply from the Logisys company when a question was sent to them, keys were always a bit extra rigid even for my big hands. I ranked it poor rather than very poor because it did manage to light for 3 or so months

Other Thoughts: I have been thru 7 keyboards that light up and they have been expensive as well as cheap, this keyboard ranged in the middle on price and near the bottom on performance. would not buy Logisys product again.

2 out of 5 eggsBacklighting died

Pros: function keys are a nice convenience.

Cons: I have had two of these. The backlighting on the first one died after about a month. I sent it back for a replacement. The Backlighting died on second one about 6 weeks later.

Other Thoughts: There is obviously a problem with the illumination failing on this model. Otherwise its not a bad keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth The Money

Pros: Does what I want it to do. Just bright enough. For $20.00 you can go wrong if your looking for a illuminated keyboard for the basic this does the job.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the money

Pros: Nice back lighting, easy to see but not too bright. The caps lock, num lock LEDs are really bright but not a problem unless you get right over them. The keys have a soft touch to them like a laptop, but have lost some of their softness. I am a speed typer so it is noticeable. Most silver finishes rub off easily, but this finish has held up. I use the driver for an AOpen KM-950p keyboard with macro programminng running under Win XP Pro. Works great. Keyoard is used on two pc's with a 2-port KVM switch and does not have any problems remembering each machine's kb settings.

Cons: The first unit's back lighting failed within a week. My 2nd unit has help up nicely. As stated, the touch of the keys has gotten a little stiffer. The biggest con is that the letters are basically decals on the keycaps and they rub off the more the keyboard is used.

Other Thoughts: The only other thing I have noticed is that I recently went to a Viewsonic VA1912wb flat panel monitor and when I turn the backlighting on, I get a ripple on the edges of the display screen. I found that setting the monitor's refresh rate to 75hz reduced the effect to barely noticeable (if your video adapter will handle it). Otherwise, a fair nice keyboard. To get a full-size keyboard with nice backlighting for this price is not too shabby. Would I buy another one......probably so, especially if I needed the backlighting.

1 out of 5 eggsBacklighting Died

Pros: Compact design. The keyboard works. Low price.

Cons: Backlighting is junk. I had two of these. Ordered the first one and the backlighting died after about a month. I RMA'd the item at my own expense to distributer and it took about 4 to 5 weeks to recieve another. The backlighting on that unit also died after less than 3 months of use.

Other Thoughts: I did not order this from NewEgg but rather from another company. That was probably my first mistake. NewEgg has the best customer service...period.

I would NOT recommend this illuminated keyboard based on the fact that the illumination on two of them died within a very short period of time. Although the price is low, you get what you pay for...JUNK!
