5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: I purchased this keyboard looking for a replacement to a great keyboard I had that got wet !

Exact same touch, wonderful to use for long periods of time, 2 usb ports work great with Logitech track ball and one additional wireless mouse.

Sturdy, aluminum. Don't fall into the trap I fell into- purchasing numerous cheap keyboards hoping for a gem.

Nothing under $30 compares....
Nothing. I mean that. Seriously.

I have purchased 5 keyboards under $30. All unsatisfactory.
If you make your living using a keyboard, buy this one.

Cons: No cons with this keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect.

Pros: Sturdy, responsive scissor-key structure, classy design.

Cons: Not back-lit, wired (not really an issue for me).

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty picky when it comes to keyboards. I bought this one on good faith from the reviews, and I'm not disappointed. I greatly enjoy the scissor-keys; it has the sensitivity of a laptop keyboard but it still feels solid. The USB ports make for easy connection for my mouse, which I move to different computers often. I use the keyboard for gaming as well as general use. My only complaint is that it's not backlit, making it difficult to type in low light. Highly recommended nonetheless.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Solid construction (metal), typing feels great, has volume buttons, heavy (won't slide of table), USB ports work with pretty much any device (there doesn't seem to be a power draw issue, as is common with other USB hub keyboards that I have seen)

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: It has laptop style keys... Not necessarily a good or bad thing, just be aware of that.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Good Scissor Switch Tech (Doesn't feel mushy)

Cons: Sits a little slanted due to board design (I like mine to sit flat but it's not bad)

Other Thoughts: I owned a Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard for three years before I purchased this SIIG. I've now owned the SIIG for about six months and this one feels much better to type on. The Logitech felt a little mushy. If you are looking for a good replacement to the Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard this SIIG is the one to purchase!

5 out of 5 eggsWhat I was looking for

Pros: Exactly what I was looking for, solid construction, laptop-style "scissor switch" keys, full size keyboard, native Windows configuration (as opposed to Mac). I've only had it for about half a day, but all I need to know I can tell quickly. See other thoughts for fuller explanation.

Cons: It's wired, which obviously I knew going into it and doesn't really bother me... it's more that I'd prefer to at least have the option to buy this same keyboard in a wireless version. Not really a con for this keyboard, but a con for SIIG not offering the other hypothetical keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Several years ago I was looking for a keyboard with laptop-style "scissor switch" keys that was full size and was a native Windows keyboard. It took tons of searching and I eventually found one from a somewhat sketchy site. In any event, it cost about this same as this one does, and I got it, and I was very happy with it. I was in the market for a new one and quickly saw this one on Newegg. It looked more like what I was looking for than anything else, I got it, and it turns out it's almost identical to that previous keyboard, down to the millimeter on the layout and they keys. The heft is similar, it's almost literally the same keyboard, with just a slightly different case and by a different manufacturer.

So, it was exactly what I was looking for, just easier to find this time. Love typing on these things. The other keyboard held up very well for a number of years, hope this one does the same.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic keyboard

Pros: + Satisfyingly "clicky" typing action, which gives you the feel of a well-made keyboard without all the noise of mechanical key switches. It's relatively quiet, compared to keyboards with deeper keys, but still announces each key press well.
+ *Incredibly* well built, with a beautiful brushed aluminum face plate and an unbelievably sturdy plastic chassis on the back. Seriously, I haven't seen a desktop keyboard with *no body flex at all* in my entire life, but this one is precisely that. It feels like it was made to survive a nuclear blast. It oozes quality from every square inch of its construction, and if you like keyboards with scissor-style laptop keys, you owe it to yourself to buy this one.
+ The USB connectors on each side of the keyboard are a very nice touch. They're on the sides, out of sight, so they don't detract from the look of the keyboard when you're not using them.
+ It is plain, in the very best possible way. The brushed black aluminum face and charcoal grey/black keys go with everything.

Cons: - None to speak of, although I'll have to see how well the lettering on each key holds up.

Other Thoughts: If you like slimline keyboards with laptop keys, like I do, just buy one of these. It's the very best one I've used.

5 out of 5 eggsFeels good

Pros: Solid, weighty and no flex. Keys all seem to be where they are supposed to be. Full size keyboard, but slim and not any bigger than it needs to be. Two USB ports work and can supply power to a "big" load like hard drive (at least with my motherboard, YMMV)

Cons: USB cable is just barely long enough for my standing desk environment (worked for me).

Other Thoughts: Was a fan of classic IBM keyboards, and I'm also very happy with "feel" and layout of this keyboard.

Replacing an annoying light-up keyboard that kept having compatibility problems with Linux. Now I can just plug in a $2 USB gooseneck LED light pointed at the keys.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the best keyboard in the WORLD!!!11!1(one)

Pros: slim. comfortable. reasonably quiet. USB hub. Media Keys. Metal casing. HARD STEEL KEY REFRAIN PANEL!!!

Cons: Has alcoholism (Will drink your unattended Jegermeister if given the opportunity).

Other Thoughts: This was the best keyboard I have ever owned. I have had MANY grand days of typing out my many illicit URLs and keying in 4chan flame comments with this grand master of keyboards...

One day, after a rather fitful respnce to a newf** on /b and in a rage enduced fit of wanted style retrobution on a friend, I successfully recreated the "Wanted" Scene where the protagonist managed to spell out the phrase "F**K YOU" with the broken keys of his smashed keyboard and a tooth. the only difference was the fact this SIIG keyboard defiantly did NOT surrender its keys to flight. Nay, it angrily growled as I slammed it back on my desk and continued rage-fully fisting its manly keys to the tacking roll of hate-mail.

Truely this was the best of my input devices untill that fateful day... I had pored myself a feisty tumbler of Jagermeister and prepared to hammer away at another bile filled retort to human inanity when my bowels demanded my undivided attention... upon returning to my desk, the keyboard had inexplicably DRANK MY JAGER!!!

It was then that I learned of the SIIG keyboards greatest weekness... hard alcohol.

So I did what any good troll would do in my position, reenacted my favorite "Wanted" Scene again on the OTHER side of my friends face and sent the keyboard to a reputable addiction clinic. Last I heard it had escaped the clinic and is now living in a dump with a herd of hobos... tragic...

So in closing, really great keyboard, just remember the rules; keep it out of the light, don't feed it after midnight, and don't get it wet.

I WILL be getting a replacement or 10 of these bad boys!
