5 out of 5 eggsExcellent hardware

Pros: Three full years of service and still work great. (Bought 7-2011. 2 lithium battery every 18 months. Control perfectly the computer behind the TV.

Cons: Absolutely none

Other Thoughts: I do the review now because my brother just told me he wants one.

3 out of 5 eggsreliable but quirky

Pros: Rarely misses a keystroke. Touch pad has good sensitivity. Nice size to use on the lap.

Cons: If you type a lot of numbers, this isn't for you. They are shifted right enough that I have to adjust to it after using a normal keyboard. If they had made the keyboard a half inch wider, this could have been fixed. The Ctrl and Function keys are swapped from the more common position of the Ctrl at the left bottom corner. Two finger touch pad scrolling is finicky. I much prefer scroll zones on the edges of the touchpad that in my experience are more precise.

Other Thoughts: Key feel is decent, but not so smooth like my Dell laptop. I switch between computers often, and so non standard layouts are very annoying. I'd love to find a wireless keyboard with touch pad that is as nice as my DELL laptop and has normal or typical key layout. Sometimes the keystrokes start to repeat or miss, but this isn't often, and when it starts, it seems that cleaning the battery contacts helps. Don't wait for the low battery light. It could also be some transient radio interference.

2 out of 5 eggsWould not recommend

Pros: The keyboard layout is nice, the feel of the keys is nice, and an integrated touch pad makes it seem ideal for a media machine that you need to control from the couch.

Cons: The range is terrible, 10 feet from the receiver which is in direct line of site and it still only registers half the time. When typing a password or url only half the keys register. When used infrequently the mouse will stop responding until a key is pressed, probably a power saving feature. The mouse is also jerky and sometimes goes berzerk

Other Thoughts: Not worth the trouble I have had to deal with. Turns movie time into frustrated yelling at the keyboard time.

3 out of 5 eggsAlright for the price

Pros: Everything works, very lightweight and compact, feels pretty durable.

Cons: Scrolling can be a bit herky jerky, tends to overscroll a bit, sometimes repeats keystrokes, for the most part it works well though, I'm thinking my issue is RF interference related. I did type this review on it with very little issue.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried out the range of it, currently using it at about 5' from the receiver with LOS.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: I can't say enough about how impressed I was when I installed this on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. All I did was put batteries in the keyboard, and plugged in the USB wireless receiver. I expected a message about installing drivers, or something, but nothing seemed to happen. I thought "Great.... I'm going need to screw around with this to get it to work." Then I put my finger on the touchpad, and the mouse moved. SWEET! There was nothing else I had to do! Very impressed. The range is great for my living room. I'm using this as a keyboard/mouse input for my HTPC with XBMC on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Works perfect at 8 - 10 feet.

Cons: Device ID button on bottom of keyboard to easy to push with finger while holding keyboard, or picking it up. That did cause a 1 - 2 minute gap in functioning, but it paired itself back up without issue. Just have to remember it's there.

Other Thoughts: Buy it! Good product. It's a laptop keyboard basically.

2 out of 5 eggsdo not buy

Pros: keyboard and mouse pad all in one.

Cons: cheap plastic, range sucks, this product is very hit and miss most of the time

Other Thoughts: i creates a kiosk for my wifes restaurant and found this at a local computer store (fry). hooked it up and no signal.... waited about 3mins and it finally started working. noticed when people were putting in their info the buttons would over type. instead of Robert they would put in robbberrt. not to mention it was sitting onto of the computer and it would still loose its connection. i ended up trashing it and bought a different keyboard/mouse combo

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought it to replace another keyboard I was not happy with. This keyboard is a great size, since it is like having a laptop in front of you.

Cons: I am about 8 ft from the TV and it misses some of the typed keys. I had to put the dongle in the front of the computer to work somewhat OK. I got it to use with an HTPC. It appears to work just fine at about 2-3ft from the computer. Since I only intend to use it for the HTPC, and got it for under $15 with a rebate(that I have to send in), I may keep it. I will see how annoying it is, and decide if it is better to just send it back.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Does everything I need it to to run my HTPC. I have the receiver a floor below my living room where i have my media closet set up and the signal is received fine through the floor about 15' away

Cons: The mouse has a slight tendency to jump while a movie is playing if i touch the pad. As in if I need to turn off subtitles or want to skip to a certain section and use the mouse pad, i cant cross the screen in one full swipe, when I lift my finger to go back to the other side of the pad the mouse will jump to a different part of the screen. Probably can be fixed with some settings and it only happens in video playback so i don't care that much.

4 out of 5 eggsAcceptable product

Pros: Works fine. I have had no problems with reception. I use the keyboard on my coffee table which is about 5 feet from the computer.

Cons: All of my complaints are rather nit-picky. The product works fine, it just has a few quirks:

It goes into a sort of standby mode when idle, and is unresponsive until you click the left mouse button, at which point it wakes up. I would prefer for it to wake up when I touch the touchpad, as well.

The two-finger-scrolling feature on the touchpad takes some getting used to. I'm still not sure exactly how to use it correctly. Sometimes it gives me the little circle with an up and down arrow, like when you click the scroll wheel on a normal mouse, and sometimes it scrolls normally like I expect.

In the lower left corner, I expect the key in the very corner to be CTRL. On this keyboard, it's the Fn key instead, which means I have to consciously think about it when I go to copy and paste. Also, the backspace key is the same size and shape as the letter and number keys, rather than a bar, which I am not used to.

Other Thoughts: If I had a chance to play with this product before buying it, I probably would have picked something else. Having said that, I still feel like I paid a fair price for it, and I'm not dissatisfied with what I got for my money. I don't intend to replace it anytime soon.
