3 out of 5 eggsExcellent Price, but Prone to Failure

Pros: Newer versions seem to have some epoxy under the USB connector on the board, which does seem to help a lot with preventing breakage on the solder joints since the solder isn't directly handling any movement stress.
Also, the RMA process is a breeze for replacing failed units covered by warranty (and the RMA team is very helpful)

Cons: Older unit:
-USB port broke - repairs ended up requiring me to solder wires from the cord directly to the board.
-Key/Switch Broken: Asterisk key on NUM pad has stopped functioning, entirely, and looks like it will require soldering repair.

Newer Unit:
-Key/Switch Broken: Minus key on NUM pad broken. Thankfully this one is under warranty, so this is being processed as an RMA as of now.

Other Thoughts: Purchased 2 of these before I started having issues. I would not purchase these again if I could go back - save up, and go for something higher quality, even if it means spending nearly double.

3 out of 5 eggsCherry MX Brown Switch with soft tactile feeling

Pros: None

Cons: I own the Keyboard RK-9000BRI with Cherry MX Brown Switch at home and wanted same for work this soft touch thing may make me return it. Its not what i wanted. The positive confirmation that the key was pressed just aint in this version . My 9K BRI has had a few mini USB issues but nothing perm yet. Yea even as I type on this now its confirming that its not what I wanted

Other Thoughts: After you spend days researching what Cherry MX you really want this thing throws you a curve

2 out of 5 eggsNot a reliable mechanical keyboard

Pros: I use it in my office. It's kind of quiet compared to the other types of mechanical keyboards with blue switches. For more than one year use, I was pretty happy about it, until the key 4 doesn't work any more and the cable connection becomes loosely.

Cons: In the recent 2 months, the key "4" doesn't work anymore, sometimes when I press it, nothing shows up, or there are several "4" showing. It's an expensive mechanical keyboard, which is supposed to last a long time.

And the usb connector starts to not working well recently, I have to put a small block under the joint of the cable and the keyboard to maintain the good connection

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend to buy this keyboard. It's neither a reliable mechanical keyboard, nor a cheap one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard for typing enthusiast/professional

Pros: Sound

Cons: Had to RMA originally

Other Thoughts: As a gamer I have a Black Widow Ultimate 2013 at home. I love the feel and action you get with blues, however I feel like the sound would bother my co-workers, like a lot... so in come the browns.

As a consultant this keyboard is pretty portable for client sites, as well as giving me the same "blue" action I am used too. It's much quieter and professional looking. The red behind the keys makes a good contrast, other than that it's a no frills keyboard, and it gets the job done.

Have seen the comments about the connectors as well, I have not experienced this, although because of the comments I am being very cautious about it (you should do the same).

I did have to RMA this guy once, but as always Newegg customer service came through very nicely! RMA was due to a faulty switch on the Backspace key. It was very annoying to try and press, Newegg took it back like a champ.

I would highly recommend this product

4 out of 5 eggsGreat so far.

Pros: My first mechanical keyboard, enjoying it I seem to type faster and the keys feel really nice. The usb/ps2 wire is threaded which is nice and doesn't feel cheap like other people say. Really enjoying it so far and glad it has a numpad.

Cons: The USB port of course like everyone else says feels really loose and flimsy. If you touch the micro usb wire with it connected to the port on the keyboard it wiggles along with the entire socket. Don't understand why Rosewill doesn't just come up with a better solution to fix the one flaw everyone has been complaining about for ages with this keyboard. Just holding my breathe and praying the solder points don't detach one day but so far for the price I got this at it's great.

Other Thoughts: Newegg would not ship to my state for some bizarre reason so I had to order it on that bidding website Weird Al made a song about which newegg has a store on which I assume uses the same warehouse which really makes me wonder why in the world they don't just ship it from their own website to New York?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard, terrible cord

Pros: Cherry MX Brown switches
Decent weight
Small size (for a standard keyboard) because there's no useless extra keys.
Subtle red accent under the keys looks great

Cons: MicroUSB jack in the keyboard is flimsy
Braided USB corded included is too stiff

Other Thoughts: I'm incredibly happy to have upgraded to a mechanical keyboard. The Cherry MX Brown switches I feel are a great compromise between typing and gaming. The keyboard is heavy enough to stay in place, and I appreciate that it has a standard layout without any media keys taking up space.

The included cables are braided, but stiff. Combined with a USB jack in the keyboard that doesn't seem to be very securely soldered, this is a problem. Luckily for me I don't move my keyboard around on my desk very much, but even then I have had to jiggle the connector to get the keyboard to reconnect to my computer.

Overall though, I'm very happy with this product. I wish I had my own office at work so I could buy one for there as well. The MX Browns may be quieter than some others, but they're still louder than any rubber dome keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage quality. Again.

Pros: None. Was saving it for a build I was doing. Dead within 3 days. What a waste of money. Second Rosewill keyboard this has happened to.

Cons: No pros.

Mini USB contact broke within 3 days of use. Opened it up and tried the super glue mod to get the contacts to touch but no dice. Looks like the problem is more severe than that.

Looking at the circuit board shows a bad re-solder job: looks like the contact was re-soldered BADLY. I've ordered the version with Cherry Reds before, and this same problem happened though I was able to fix it. Looks like this one is just dead though.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid entry level mechanical keyboard

Pros: Got this when it was on a deep discount with a gift card rebate kicker and couldn't be more satisfied. It's heavy, which might not sound important, but it helps keep it stable during typefests. Naturally it's accurate with your keystrokes and records them all.

Make sure you like Brown switches and know what you're getting into, but this keyboard has served me well so far with some light gaming and report writeups. If you want an entry-level mechanical keyboard, this is it.

Cons: Only actual con: no included key puller.

It's hard to say these others are "cons" they're just features which aren't present (and you consequently don't have to pay for).
-No media buttons
-No extra USB ports
-No Windows key deactivation
-No advanced algorithm to detect snarky emails and respond in kind

Other Thoughts: I haven't noticed the connector as being weak or flimsy, but I can't say I've touched it since I set up the keyboard.

This would be a good weapon if they made another modern version of Clue.

Also, I think another reviewer mentioned it but if you look into the Num/Caps/Scroll Lock LEDs from directly overhead it's going to burn more than the sun and Eye of Sauron combined. I don't know why you wouldn't be at an angle of approximately 45-80 degrees to the keyboard instead of 90, but don't do it.
