3 out of 5 eggsMini USB port issues

Pros: Keyboard worked well for awhile. Quickly adjusted to the Cherry Black switches, which are great to type and game on. Keyboard layout is fine, although I've never cared for the windows key.

Cons: As mentioned by numerous other reviews, the USB connection is an issue. It worked for awhile, but now I'm getting intermittant disconnects, and the mini USB socket seems like the issue. Feels loose and shoddily manufactured. Obviously this is a huge dealbreaking issue.

Other Thoughts: I'd have stuck with the Cherry Black switches, but have gone with a different brand keyboard if I could.

4 out of 5 eggs3 months and still going strong

Pros: Solid - heavy enough to use in a Zombie Invasion (just don't forget my morning cuppa). Similar to an IBM Selectric, means I can actually type faster then one of those cheap so called Silent keyboards. Bog standard 104 key setup. Comes with both a USB and PS2 connections for older systems. Great if you have it and are USB port challenge as I am (Have 8 in the back and all in use).

Cons: Blue LED's. They annoy me
As others have said, poor mini-usb cable connection. Can be solved by replacing with a better cable.

Other Thoughts: Would have been better to hard wire the keyboard and simply include a PS2 to USB adapter though I will be getting another when they're on sale.

2 out of 5 eggsA joke in the poorest of tastes

Pros: Responsive and durable. Serves me well when it actually works. Used primarily for chatting on the net and playing video games.

Cons: My first keyboard's escape button broke after a few days so I went through the exchange process and got a new one.

I've been using the second one for a few months now and there have been consistent USB connection problems.

The keyboard can't be moved an inch without the little micro usb cable moving and making the keyboard lose connectivity. It's incredibly frustrating.

Other Thoughts: I want to love this keyboard but its only flaw is so glaring I can't.

2 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard, but build quality is lacking

Pros: I have 2 of these: one at work, one at home.

Cons: The backspace key on one stopped working and I occasionally have connection issues with the other one. Both out of warranty.

Other Thoughts: If you're spending this much on a keyboard, just go with a better brand.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard, terrible USB port

Pros: The keyboard's keys feel great. Quiet, relative to MX Blue at least, nice and responsive.

Cons: The USB port and/or internal PCB is utterly awful. I'm about to submit for a third RMA for this keyboard in less than a year. I'll be putting any replacement keyboard in the closet for emergencies. It's a shame, the keyboard itself is otherwise fantastic compared to the competition, and for the price.

Other Thoughts: Uhg.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat buy when on sale

Pros: -MX Black
-Cheap, I bought mine for some $60 on sale
-Heavy and sturdy, will not slide on your desk like a cheap plastic board
-Sexy red PCB

Cons: -USB problems (I'll get back to this)
-No backlights (what do you expect for the price?)
-TERRIBLE USB cable, throw it away immediately

Other Thoughts: When I first plugged in the keyboard, I fell in love. It felt great to type on, great to game on, and looked amazing. As an amateur dev / pro gamer, I need a mechanical keyboard I can type on AND game on competitively. This keyboard was much cheaper than the competition, so I couldn't resist when I saw it on techbargains. Here is the deal -- after 3 weeks, the keyboard would go unresponsive in the middle of gaming. I was plssed at first, because the early reviews all warn of a faulty USB port. However my buddies at Overclock.net 's mechanical keyboard club had assured me that the USB problem was fixed several months ago with this line of Rosewill mechs. I trust those guys, a lot. The problem came, then was fine for a few days, then it returned. I was getting nervous, and as a competitive gamer, that keyboard behavior is NOT ACCEPTABLE. However, a few days after the problem appeared, I decided to try a different USB cable. I have been gaming on it daily for some 2-3 months now with NO problems. No more dropped keystrokes, no more "lock lights" (The problem caused all 3 Lock LEDs to come on as others have mentioned.)

So as I mentioned in the Cons, throw away that USB cable and get a real one. I'm not sure if the problem is caused by bad cabling or in fact the USB socket, but changing the cable seemed to have fixed my issues. I would not be surprised if the damage to USB ports people are mentioning is from the shoddy cable that came with the keyboard.

All in all -- great keyboard, recommend it for those willing to take a minor risk / are techy enough to troubleshoot or deal with problems in case they appear. If you are scared off by that, then invest in a Ducky / Das Keyboard because those almost never fail, but you pay more for that reliability. OR just pay the extra money for the newegg extended warranty, might still be cheaper than the competition.

All in all - 4/5 eggs. Great job Rosewill.

3 out of 5 eggsVery nice keyboard but...

Pros: I love the layout. Modernized and easy to use. NKRO is a plus. Nice touch for gaming and all.

Cons: The fatal flaw is the micro usb isn't well made. Typical failures will be from the connector coming from the motherboard coming loose. There is little a person can do unless they know how to solder it back on.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Keyboard

Pros: I've had this keyboard since Feb 2013 and I haven't had any trouble with it. I don't know what the people that are having troubles are doing but I have gamed over 500 hours on this keyboard and it's still awesome.
No usb port failure, the port is still quite snug. My cat likes to get between my keyboard and monitor and move the keyboard around, no issues with the port.

Cons: Letters are wearing off. Is there a keyboard out there that this DOESN'T happen to? I game A LOT, I need a keyboard the letters will stay visible.
My wife finds the clacking sound annoying when I'm typing out stuff but she can deal with it. ;-P

Other Thoughts: Except for the letters wearing off, this keyboard is awesome and I'm looking to get another for my other system.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard, Bad USB Port

Pros: -Keyboard feels excellent
-no obnoxious logos or styling
-construction is very solid except for....(see cons)

Cons: It amazes me how such a nice quality keyboard can be held back by such a cheap and simple part. The USB connector inside of my keyboard has broken which has brought it down to brick status.

Other Thoughts: It's really hard for me to understand (from a manufacturing stand point) the logic behind making such an expensive device fully depend on something incredibly cheap and brittle.

Would have originally paid an extra $5-$10 for a USB port that was more sturdy. Now, mine's broken and I'm buying another brand instead.
