1 out of 5 eggsvery disappointed

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: none if the product doesn't last

Cons: just keep away

Other Thoughts: Im extremely disappointed in Rosewill's products. ive had this product for about 6 months and whenever i turn on the backlights (green or red) the keyboard becomes completely unresponsive. yes i have tried on computer. and yes i have tried another mechanical keyboard. its this keyboard. and to make matters worse..... i cant get it replaced at this very instant because guess what you have to wait til rosewill contacts you.

5 out of 5 eggsA personal favorite for a lifetime

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: Heavier weight keyboard plus rubber stoppers means less shifting during sessions.

Smooth typing and clean design.

Barebone design means I can enjoy both work and gaming without the extra "Macro" buttons.

Barebone design also means very compact and small, which saves space on a small desk.

Cons: More LED light options(!)

Because it is barebone design, in MMO games, where you need Macros, it can be a bit difficult to adjust to.

USB cord provided is a bit on the short side (for some people). But length is fine for me at least.

Other Thoughts: The cons are just nitpicky.

Overall, this is a keyboard I would highly recommend to everyone and anyone that's looking for a solid keyboard without all the extra buttons. The "fn" options are more than enough to keep everyone happy. Worth every single penny.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: Initially, this is a great keyboard for the price. It feels really heavy and has a solid build to it which I defintely like

-There's nothing weird about the key layout, normally sized enter key and all of that good stuff
-back light has a good amount of brightness
-having function keys are also a plus
-removable cable seems beneficial although I haven't had a use for it yet.
-The legs lock into place so it doesn't fall over, really thankful for that

Cons: Okay, so here's the big thing that has been bothering me since I noticed. To start off this is my first mechanical keyboard so I don't have that much experience with how all the different switches feel. At first with these blue switches I noticed I was getting a lot more hand fatigue than I was expecting but I though I would just get used to it as time went on. I didn't, and some of the other blues I have used don't give me the same kind of fatigue.
I finally decided to check the weight for the actuation point and it turn out its actually 60g for these blue switches which is really noticeable because I thought it was supposed to be 50g This is a marginal difference and I'm not sure who is to blame here. It is definitely the switches that are bad but I think it should be on rose will for not noticing this. If you get one make sure to double check that the actuation point is actually what it says.

Other Thoughts: If I had known before the return period I would have tried to get a different board that might have had better switches on it.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing.

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: Honestly, I absolutely loved this keyboard. It always felt perfect. Every stroke of the keys was an almost titillating experience from the first time I used it to the last.

Cons: Unfortunately, I pulled the keyboard onto my lap one day and it caught on the corner of my couch. This broke the port going from the cable to the top of the keyboard, completely ruining it. So I'd say it's slightly easy to break in that aspect.

However, the keyboard itself is pretty darn sturdy and heavy. I wouldn't expect it to break from a moderate drop but just be careful with the cord at the top. The accident was completely my fault and in no way is the manufacturer responsible, but oh well. I should've gotten the warranty. Oh well. Hopefully my new one gets here in a couple days.

3 out of 5 eggsRMA'd after 3 months.

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: A standard full sized keyboard with Red and Green Back light. Bought it on sale. Solid, Heavy keyboard for gamers and typists.

Cons: The keyboard worked well for a while, until I noticed that the "T" key was unresponsive most of the time or would input more than one "T" I don't use the "T" key often while gaming, but when I type things with the letter "T" then it gets a bit annoying.

Other Thoughts: I bought an older model Rosewill Mechanical keyboard at a thrift store, it was the model that was notorious for having a lose USB socket.

RMA'd the keyboard, and hopefully my replacement will be a lot better.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't go wrong for $60

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: 1st time mechanical keyboard owner and will never go back to the free Dell or HP keyboards. I make less typo's since I know am hitting the keys (especially when tapping keys the same key back to back).

Low-Med-Hi Red or Green back-light modes looks great during the day and night. (off/breathing modes are useless)

Keys seem less stiffer than the Cooler Master Storm QuickFire XT Blue I use at work (despite both using the Cherry MX Blue keys)

Cons: Low-Med-Hi Red or Green back-light modes are lost upon a reboot. (Takes under 10 seconds to reconfig)

Had to remove the plus key on the keypad since it was stuck. Placing the key back in fixed the issue. No Keycap Puller (had one from the CM QuickFire XT keyboard)

Odd looking that the number keys above the letters are lite up, but not the special characters which can cause you to look closely if you do not have the keys memorized.

The blue led above the number keypad (caps on, etc) lights up the ceiling, but is not distracting when typing.

If you slam the keys, you can hear an echo.

Other Thoughts: $60 after $20 mail in rebate for a cherry mx blue keyboard with backlights = can't complain about any of the minor cons. It's a BUY. I was not going to spend an extra $40+ for the quieter MX Brown or over $115 for a mx blue with none of the cons.

4 out of 5 eggsYarg!

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: Loud Clicky
Mechanical
Heavy
3peen
many lighting options

Cons: Doesn't save lighting settings
not sure if blues are best for gaming

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is very sweet. can be lit at 3 levels of intensity in red, or green. Can also just light/unlight the WASD or arrow keys independently, which is cool. The only missed feature here is that you have to turn on the backlight every time you fire up your computer, which wouldn't be a problem until I started booting off a SSD, now it seems kind of annoying so it loses one egg. I haven't tried other style switches but it occurs to me that blue may not be optimal for gaming due to the press weight and register point. Still well worth the purchase price of $64!

5 out of 5 eggsNice keyboard

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: Very nice keyboard, it's not too big or too small, it have all the key needed without extra unnecessary key. What I like the most about this keyboard is the weight, it is heavy which mean it stays in place and don't move everytime you touch it.

Cons: As others have noted, it doesnt have a memory for the leds behavior, but for me its only a minor flaw, only takes 1 seconds to turn back the light to the setting I want. The space key was kind of sticky when I first started to use it, but after a few days of use it just started to work normally, I suppose it just needed some use to start working correctly. Special characters and letters/numbers position are inversed compared to standard keyboards, but I wouldn't even have noticed it if I didn't read others reviews, so for me it's a non-issue.

Other Thoughts: I reccomend this keyboard if you're looking for a replacement, It should last a long time, very solid build.

1 out of 5 eggsSome keys do not work well

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: The led light is really fancy and the switch is very convenient. Also, the main keys work very well.

Cons: However, the SHIFT key, Backspace key, Enter key, Space key, Alt key do not work that well compared to the alphabet keys. I feel something is sticked with those button when i press down and they are pretty hard to press down. I do not if it is deliberately designed in this way. However, the sticked feeling of these button really makes me uncomfortable.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill Helios RK-9200BU - Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switches

Pros: This keyboard is amazing. I really did prefer the MX Blues to all other kinds of switches and when this keyboard went on sale i wanted to pick one up. I have had no issue with the keyboard itself seeing as I was able to get it for eighty dollars when it went on sale for black Friday. I highly recommend it if you prefer the MX Blue switches.

Cons: None as far as the keyboard goes, however when it shipped the packaging box that it came in was opened when i came home from work on my doorstep. Not a problem with the keyboard itself so i didn't take off an egg yet i was still rather mad with UPS and their poor service for sending me a damaged box.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for an mechanical keyboard and you do not know what type of switches you want I recommend you try Blues before you get this keyboard. They are rather loud, yet not as loud as greens, so I could see where this would be an issue for some people.
