4 out of 5 eggsDecent KB

Pros: - Cherry MX Blue switches provide good tactile and auditory feedback
- Adjustable lighting (I keep it turned off, because it's distracting)
- Solid build, doesn't move about on my desk like cheap plastic keyboards I've used in the past

Cons: - Some of the key labels are laid out oddly; namely the number and punctuation keys. Their alternate (shift+) character is listed next to the number/character, as opposed to above it, as most other keyboards have it. I imagine this is to illuminate both characters as evenly as possible. That leads me to the next con...

- Lighting is not distributed well on some keys. Function keys for example: their secondary function appears under the F# text, but the LED underneath the key is located toward the top of the key; thus the bottom text does not illuminate as well as the top text. Another example is the Windows key, where the Windows symbol is centered on the key (as opposed to the other text-based keys which have the text on top), so the bottom half of the symbol is not as brightly lit as the top half; likewise with the Context Menu button. This isn't necessarily a factor in my rating, just something I noticed which adds to the existing distraction of even having the backlight on in the first place.

- The included software (generically named "Mechanical Gaming Keyboard" is horribly user-unfriendly. Luckily I don't have a need for any macros.

- Occasionally, not very often, a key's switch will apparently get stuck. While typing, a key will just begin repeating indefinitely until I press that key again to stop it, like while typing "Hello" I might get "Hellooooooooooo". This is generally just a nuisance that results in needing to delete the extra text.

2 out of 5 eggsStopped working out of nowhere after a few months

Pros: Worked fine while it worked

Cons: Stopped working after about 3 months for me (never spilled on it or anything)

Other Thoughts: I'm sure this was just some bad luck and nothing really on the companies part, but after a few months I booted up my PC and it was just not working. The LED's didn't come on, and the keys that did work were typing numbers instead of letters. I hope I can still get an RMA on this, as it was a really good keyboard up until it worked.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill Apollo RK-9100xB Blue Backlit Mechanical Keyboard

Pros: This is my first mechanical keyboard and i love it! The blue switches sound amazing, and the feel is pretty great also. The blue LEDs are perfect, every part of the keyboard has the same brightness, I really like the 2 front usb ports, it comes in handy. The keys them self feel really smooth and very well built.

Cons: -the only con is that you have to use two hands to use the media keys, but not a big deal.

-i ordered this last week or so and now its on sale!!

Other Thoughts: this keyboard is so nice and quality is top notch, I would definitely buy this or something just like this again. Ill never go back to a regular keyboard again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

Pros: Very solid construction and high-quality materials. Cherry MX Blue key switches. Adjustable back-lighting.

Cons: About the only con from my perspective, and the only reason I didn't give it a 5, is the two-fingered approach to the media keys. Not sure how it could have been done differently on this layout.

Other Thoughts: I am completely happy with this keyboard and the feel of the Cherry MX Blue switches. I've always thought Rosewill made pretty good products, but never thought of them as a high-end manufacturer. They've changed my perception with this product.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Upgrade Ever.

Pros: Awesome sound and tactile response. It's absolutely amazing to get this thing typing in a run. Extremely satisfactory auditory and feel experience! The blue backlight and black keys/case match my case and mouse!

Cons: The keys and the palmrest show smudges from my fingers. onoz.

Other Thoughts: I had an old Saitek backlit keyboard (one of the first backlit types) that had served me pretty well, but I'd been eyeing the mechanical keyboards for a very long time. And man. I am so very glad I went with this one. Rosewill knocked it out of the park. And it matches the rest of my setup!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Keyboard

Pros: Nice tactile touch, loving the cherry MX blue switches. The blue backlight looks really nice, as it matches my mouse. I would recommend.

Cons: I have yet to find a con. Oh wait. UPS took until 6:30pm to deliver it overnight (chuckles)

Other Thoughts: If you are a typist, this is a great keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Keyboard

Pros: Keys are GREAT. I was using a Razer Lycosa before this and thought that was a great keyboard, but this one blows it out of the water (mostly because of the keys).

I love the ability to change the levels of brightness on the keys too.

The keys are also smooth. They don't have that weird rubbery stuff on them like my last keyboard had. It made cleaning the keys a pain.

Cons: My headset makes a weird buzzing sound when it's plugged in through the keyboard. So I just plug it into the back of my computer.

Some people have been "complaining" of the 'num lock' and 'caps lock' lights on the top right corner are pretty bright but i don't seem to be bothered by them.
To be clear, they are bright but it doesn't bother me.

Other Thoughts: I love it. I would recommend it to any of my friends who are looking to buy a new keyboard. The keys feel amazing. I never plan on moving away from mechanical keyboards.

The only thing I wish to figure out is why my headset makes a buzzing sound when plugged into the keyboard but not my computer. -1egg

5 out of 5 eggsSolid mechanical keyboard

Pros: Solid keyboard, MX blue switches feel and sound great, backlighting is even across all keys. The 3 LED levels go from barely on to very bright - I've settled on level 2. I haven't found a use for the 4th level, which pulsates the lights on and off. No issues with LEDs staying on when the computer goes to sleep as mentioned by another review (I'm using Win 7 Pro).
I also haven't installed the included software (and don't plan to), and the keyboard works fine without it, including the media function keys.
The included keycap puller is a nice touch. The extra orange WASD and arrow keys are nice extras, although I have no plans to use them - the stock keycaps look and feel just fine.

Newegg shipping came through as always - 24 hours from order to delivery w/3 day shipping (I'm in Northern California, which certainly doesn't hurt with items shipped from Newegg's So Cal warehouse).

Cons: My only complaint (and it's very minor) is that some key presses result in a high pitched, springy echo-y sound. I know, it's a mechanical keyboard with blue switches, it's supposed to make noise, but this sounds more like the entire keyboard itself is resonating as opposed to the actual "click" of the key. Again, not a huge issue, and it could just be my particular setup & desk, but I use a Das Keyboard Pro 3-series with MX blues at work and it doesn't have the same ringiness, so that's why I point it out.

Other Thoughts: This keyboard looks identical to the Max Keyboard Nighthawk. I haven't used that keyboard so I can't speak from personal experience, but looking at pictures and the actual Rosewill I'm hard pressed to find any differences other than the Rosewill branding and a different wrist rest - the cushiony foam wrest included with the Nighthawk looks nice but the Rosewill wrist rest (which is just a rubberized piece of plastic) is perfectly functional. I frankly would have purchased the Nighthawk X7 but they've been out of stock for some time and I got tired of waiting.
As mentioned above I used a Das Keyboard with MX blues at work and would have gotten that for home too but I needed a backlit keyboard. This keyboard fits the bill perfectly, especially since it avoids some of the over-the-top look of other mechanical backlit gaming keyboards (I'm using this primarily for typing but it works just fine for games too).

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate of my previous review

Pros: Same as before. A great keyboard.

Cons: One thing I've noticed upon using this keyboard for the six weeks I've been using it is there's something odd going on with the backlighting when I put my computer into sleep mode. I have the backlight set to the medium, and when I put the computer to sleep, sometimes the backlight goes to the highest brightness and stays on. In normal circumstances this wouldn't bother me, but my computer is in my bedroom, and the LEDs on brightest setting practically light up the whole room when my lights are off. I don't know if there's some issue in the drivers that causes this, but it doesn't do it all the time.

Other Thoughts: I've had no other issues with this keyboard. If you're in the market for a Cherry MX Blue board, I'd still recommend this one.
