3 out of 5 eggsmouse keys need to be on the same side as the track ball

Pros: the extra hand held remote is nice. If I can't file a better keyboard then I will get a new one of these.
This keyboard was used for a long time before it died. And we used it over other wireless keyboards we had. We did like the mouse and keyboard combo better then the other ones we tried so far.

Cons: 1. mouse keys need to be on the same side as the track ball.
this keyboards track ball is a pain to use with the mouse buttons on the left and the track ball on the right you have to user both hands to work the track ball all the time.
2. Does not work with games that use the mouse because the mouse buttons use your left hand that you need for the keyboard on most games.
3. With out light up keys you can't see the letters on the keyboard with out good lighting shining on the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: 1. Put the mouse buttons on the same side with the trackball or on both sides.
2. Make the letters on the keys light up and make them bigger.

5 out of 5 eggsI miss you so much!

Pros: RF communication, smooth trackball, pre-programmed Windows Media Center hot keys, good ergonomics and non-slip surface.

Cons: Too easily destroyed by children, numeric keypad on remote is useless.

Other Thoughts: Argh! This is my second one of these (the first one didn't last too long with the kids dropping it all the time, which really messed up the optical trackball), and the second one lasted just long enough for it to be discontinued. You can still get them on dubious auction sites, but it's a shame they're no longer sold on Newegg. If I had known, I would have bought 3 or 4. nMediaPC's successor to this combo does have the advantage of having a learning IR remote to power on/off the TV, but it's not a combo keyboard + remote wand, and it's really the wand remote with its built-in trackball that gets used the most. This product's discontinuation is a great loss to the HTPC community.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Long battery life, good range, numerous pre-programmed Media Center buttons, good grip surface on remote, adequate resistance on remote trackball, RF (and not IR) communication.

Cons: Lack of user-programmable buttons, keyboard surface is a bit too slippery.

Other Thoughts: Rechargeable batteries need to be changed every 3 months or so, which is reasonable. Communication is reliable at 15'-20' which is excellent in my home theater setup. The RF interface means I don't have to point it at anything, which is a nice bonus. Still, I have the dongle on a USB extension so I can put it up somewhere where reception is good. This version fixes a key problem with its predecessor, notably the dongle sync button which can no longer be hit accidentally (now must be pressed in conjuction with Fn key). The keyboard's trackball is slick, as it should be, but the remote's trackball has just a little resistance, which you need when operating and holding a trackball in the same hand, and that's a nice touch. The remote also has a comfortable non-slip surface. Really wish the remote had user-programmable buttons. When things are too complicated for the remote, you have to switch to the keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: Small, great shape, fits on your lap.

Cons: Battery life is horrendous. Purchased the key board upon set up I had a caps lock problem. Company refused to replace product. Purchased a competitors product, and have no Caps Lock problems. Company blames the computer.

Other Thoughts: Company would not work with me, their is no one to talk to, you have to leave a message and hope that someone calls you back.

2 out of 5 eggsgreat if it worked

Pros: Great ergonmics on the keyboard. Nice that it comes with an addtional remote.

Cons: The track balls on each suck, it takes twice as long to click on something cuz you can't get it where you want it. True range is maybe 6' if there is nothing in the way, sometimes 2' if something is in the way....like my legs. Then the keyboard completely died after a month.

Other Thoughts: This would be a great product if they would fix the accuracy of the trackballs and give the thing some usable range, and of corse make it last longer than a month.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Love having a keyboard with a trackball mounted on it. It's a little heavy, but works well. The remote-sized trackball is useful as well. Have had this for over a year now. Battery life is good.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: The design is great and the added remote makes it seem like a great buy.

Cons: Battery life is horrible. Any small vibration turns the mouse one which eats batteries like there is no tomorrow. Occasionally the remote trackball would stop working and send my cursor to the top of the screen. Only way to fix this is to take the batteries out, same is true for the keyboard. The RF transmitter in the keyboard is in the wrong place. If you sit on the couch reclined your feet/knees/lap will block the signal.

Other Thoughts: I ended up buying a small keyboard/touch-pad combo device about the size of a droid phone for half the price. Works great.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't BUY!!!!

Pros: layout is great

Cons: maybe got about 3' of range and still didn't work great
typing is aggressive and somewhat annoying
after all that it is completely dead and useless after a month

Other Thoughts: nice while it lasted but not enough to say anything great about it.

4 out of 5 eggsBest wireless KB out there

Pros: This is my third purchase of these units. The first keyboard failed after 6 months due to rough handling by my teenage kids. If treated properly these units are tough and hardy. Range is ok, but not the greatist. Included remote is handy when just listening to music or watching a movie. Gave 4 stars due to the price which I think could be a bit lower. Overall a good performing unit.

Cons: Range could be an issue for some. I found that installing the USB dongle on the front of the PC helps increase the range. The keyboard eats batteries fairly quickly. The remote portion does not.
