4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I own the white version for my Raspberry Pi. I loved it so much I bought this one for my desktop.

The key design is way better than the classic keyboard design. There are no crevices for hair, crumbs, and whatnot to fall into.

Cons: At the time of purchasing: Price. Why does this black version cost than the white (KR-6401-WH) one?

Other Thoughts: Would have gotten 5-eggs if the Home/End, PgUp/Down, Insert/Delete keys were positioned in the classic horizontal layout. I hate relearning small things like that when it comes to keyboards.

4 out of 5 eggsOnly 50% Beerproof

Pros: This keyboard did everything I needed or wanted it to do. Decent styling, long enough cable, the keys themselves didn't feel like they were stolen from a 1980's IBM machine. I was very happy with it.

Cons: I spilled beer on it once while playing an MMO, of course this was during a 16-man raid and mid boss fight. The keyboard kept on working for the remainder of the fight. Afterwards, I turned it upside down, pressed a towel down on the keys and there were no issues. The SECOND time I did this (similar situation, MMO, 16-man raid, same brand of beer) I was able to play for another couple minutes, and went about the same process of detoxing my keyboard but to no avail. Most of the keys stopped working. Mainly the A, W, and D keys, and I'll be darned if I was going to play an MMO for 4 hours only walking backwards.

Other Thoughts: Overall the keyboard was good. I would have no hesitation to buy another, but I would recommend only spilling one beer on the keyboard. I give it 4/5 eggs because it wasn't the best keyboard, but the way I see it, 4/5 eggs is better than 1/2 beers.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and good

Pros: Cheap, somewhat portable being pretty small, but with full range of keys, feels nice. Responsive keys.

Cons: You might not like the keys if you roll/slide when typing between certain letters (if you're used to laptop-style keyboards). Stops working if you spill soda on it.

Other Thoughts: This is my favorite go-to cheap keyboard now. I'm on my 2nd one after I spilled a drink on the last one. The keys are separated which might bother some, but personally I like the feel. You can actually still slide from key to key, it just feels different. Keys are really responsive. You have to actually do a full depress to activate a key, but the travel is very short and the keys have a solid snap to them. Good for games in my opinion though I am not a pro PC gamer.

4 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard.

Pros: This keyboard lasted me a long time before I replaced it. In the end, I didn't replace it because it was broken. I replaced it because I wanted a mechanical keyboard.

I used it heavily for over two years for gaming, programming, and general computer use.

Cons: When I first got the keyboard it would lean on three feet and tap the other one up and down as I typed. I just picked the board up, twisted it in the right direction, and was good to go from then on.

Other Thoughts: It is a keyboard. It works.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Nice, comparable feel to a laptop.

Cons: Arrived with the inner contact pad out of alignment, meaning half of the keys were non working. After taking it apart it appears that they had no idea what they were doing when they made it, as the pad is too big to fit inside the case. Everything is working now, minus the print screen button.

Other Thoughts: You can get a better quality keyboard for the same or less money.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Great price, decent keyboard. Very compact, but the spacing between key groups is enough that it doesn't feel cramped at all.

Cons: The feel of the keys really isn't exactly cheap, but it isn't great. I was using an old cheap logitech before this. When it wears in it'll probably feel pretty nice

Other Thoughts: The blue lights match my computer so I was pretty amped about that. I need to take an egg off because you are stuck with one not-so-great typing angle. Easy to fix with some coasters or something. I still think it's a good buy.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice slim size- very slick looking. Cheap $

Cons: Keys feel cheap (I thought they would be the same quality as Macbooks- they are not!) Keys are also a little loud. If you don't care about slim keys, there are better keyboards out there.

2 out of 5 eggsFunky layout, better choices exist.

Pros: Small, light, compact.
Reliable, durable, will tolerate some abuse.
Keys are acceptable for extended typing

Cons: Poor typing angle needs to be propped up.

Oddball layout of editing keys can lead to a lot of silly mistakes for someone used to a more standard layout.

Other Thoughts: The poor angle the keyboard sits at, and it's lack of legs to prop it up are a major issue. Very bad ergonomics can lead to BIG problems down the line for the user. How much do you like your wrists ?

Back in the 1980's, many manufactures could claim honest ignorance of these issues, but we are long past that point. Two eggs knocked off for that !

To be fair, the keys have a decent feel, if a little springy and a little noisy by today's standards. I can live with springy, I hate spongy. Unit has proved reliable in service.

Change the angle it sits at, fix the goofy edit key layout and you would have a nice little product.

I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Note: Boot issue noted by another reviewer seems to only happen on some motherboards. While it works fine with the BIOS on my MSI G31 Intel based motherboard, it failed to play nice with an FM1 Gigabyte A75-D3H board. YMMV

3 out of 5 eggsno bad

Pros: Great feel. price was not bad

Cons: Can't use bootup options since keyboard is not connected until windows process has already started. For that i removed two eggs! Should not have bought a usb keyboard!
