Pros: *QUIET* (I'm picky; no idea why others say it is noisy AT ALL!), less than the price of a greeting card on sale, smooth tactility, textured keys to orient "F" & "J" keys by touch, big/quick Enter key, low-profile, skid-resistant feet.

Cons: I cannot find any, and I'm VERY selective. Yes, it's slightly flimsy, but it's gonna sit on your desk, right? If you can't keep your animals/kids off of it, you've got a different issue, sport(!) If letter "ink" wears quickly as one said, that may be a con, but I've not noticed that.

Other Thoughts: On sale, I could buy one of these monthly and never feel any pain. Works great; what have you got to lose?

Pros: very good clicky feel to the keys, almost silent

Cons: 3 annoyances:

1. The keyboard slides around on hard surfaces because it's so light and its rubber feet in front don't make good contact when the legs at the back (also slippery) are extended to tilt up the keyboard.

2. The backspace key is narrow, making it easy to accidentally hit the "\" key just to the left of it. This is an ancient layout abandoned by IBM in the mid-late 1980s and by about everybody else 20 years ago, so I don't understand why Gearhead chose to use it.

3. The keys in the bottom row go below the bezel when pressed fully. That's not a problem except with the space bar, where the bottom of the thumbs rub against the bezel.

Other Thoughts: This USB keyboard was given to me by Gearhead to solve a mouse problem with their CA-2150 USB-PS/2 mouse & keyboard adapter. It does not. Gearhead tech support does not seem to understand their own products or how computers work in general.

Pros: Somewhat inexpensive, but not even worth that.
USB connection.
Keystrokes are very quiet.

Cons: Defective. Cheaply built. Too much pressure on any part of the keyboard and you will break it. No adjustable legs. Backspace key is the old style tiny key and enter key is huge. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I am on a tight budget and needed a few inexpensive keyboards. There aren't that many cheap keyboards to choose from so I purchased three of these keyboards. The first one I opened, the "J" key is defective. Just resting your hands on the home row and barely touching the keys, the "J" key acts like it is being pushed down all the way and, thus, types a never ending stream of "J's". No way of stopping this unless you pry off the key. I even tried to realign the key to no avail. There is no mechanism of any kind under the keys, so I've ruled it as a defective keyboard. The keyboard is also very flimsy. If you put any amount of pressure on the keyboard(other than normal keystrokes), you will break it. There are no adjustable "legs" or "feet" so you cannot raise or lower the keyboard. It can only be positioned at the flat surface height. The backspace key is the old style tiny key style while the enter key is the old style humungous key style. The backslash key is to the left of the backspace key instead of being above the enter key. Junkiest keyboard I've ever used in my life. All around, this is a piece of junk keyboard that you should stay away from at all costs. Had I known all of this ahead of time, I would have spent the extra couple of dollars on a better keyboard. Not worth RMA-ing so I'll have to eat the cost.

Pros: It makes letters and numbers. Purchased mainly for setting up a new build/and possible temporary backup. This keyboard is the cheapest i could find that could be shipped to Illinois!? tried to purchase a Rosewill but apparently those keyboards violate one of our draconian laws.

Cons: for the price, none that I can see

Pros: Works very well for the 8 dollars I spent on it.

Cons: Some of the keys squeak, but I can't complain for the price really.

Other Thoughts: After owning this for about 1 week I REALLY wish I would have gotten something better for a few more dollars. The noise makes it impossible to use at night, which is a uge con for me. Seriously for like $4 more you can get a logitech which is way better.

Pros: It works

Keys are fairly quiet

Cons: Buttons are not that smooth to press, this causes missed presses.

The inked keys are already starting to wear pretty badly, it is starting to look like a 3 year old keyboard and have only used it for just about a month, (owned for a little longer.)

Other Thoughts: The keyboard does work however and maybe it is just me being able to type at a pretty rapid rate, yet not wanting to jam in the keys, may make this review seem a little over critical.

So if you want something to maybe used as a wired keyboard on a gaming device (PS2, PS3, X360) then this should work pretty well, but if you are someone that does a lot of typing or word processing, consider getting a higher quality keyboard.

Pros: Makes a good backup keyboard.
I bought two of the GE branded versions of this (model 98139) at [redacted, baby!] a couple of weeks ago. One is a backup in case my old Model M malfunctions (Yeah, right :) and one to experiment on. I spent about a week typing on it, and for the price, it's actually pretty good. The keys have a deeper travel than they look, and they're not as wobbly or mushy as other keyboards in this price range (inLand, Emprex, I'm looking at YOU). I was afraid that I'd keep hitting the sleep/power buttons accidentally, but they seem to have been designed not to trip over.

Cons: Thinness makes it a little flimsy, layout is a little tighter than most full size keyboards. Some merchants want a lot more for this keyboard than others.

Other Thoughts: Both the GE and Gear Head versions of this keyboard are identical. Same plastics, and both have Gear Head's USB vendor ID (0B38). I looked at both versions online, and chose the GE version because I wanted to buy locally. (You can get one at [redacted, baby!] for about [reasonably cheap] bucks.)
Of the two I purchased, one is a backup, and I [censored, dude!] the other one and put its [nope.avi] in a [lol hax] on my desk to basically add sleep/wake/power control to my Model M.

Pros: I am typing from a Gearhead kb2500U, bought it at a closeout retailer for 9.99 while I find a replacement for my Logitech G510. It works in my BIOS, has power management keys, and requires no buggy software to use and resumes from sleep gracefully. Buy one and store it somewhere for when you may need it down the road as a backup keyboard. I am glad I did. Has what appear to be drain-holes in the bottom so it might withstand a glass of water or something non-sticky. Quiet typing, even quieter then the G510.
Gets all the basics right with no senseless designs, and no bogus engineering, and no glitchy driver/interface software do deal with.

If this thing had a volume control, and a back-light, in addition to the power management keys, I would probably have my ideal keyboard.

Cons: This is a light duty keyboard, and there is no mistaking that. Slightly non-standard layout, small backspace key that I got used to in 2 minuets, home-end-insert bank a little different, and no fancy features - this can be a plus - less to go wrong. Depends on your needs. On the flimsy side if you are going to throw it around, or have kids. Cable is on the thin side, so you won't be lasso-ing any steers with it for very long, but adequate. Installer detects and installs a "keykoard" but the software seems to not be a problem.

Other Thoughts: It's nice to not have hardware that tries to do too much. No conceptual overreach here. Key effort is slightly above what I would call medium, so medium-firm.
This would be a great keyboard for an office. It is a keyboard you can sit down and use without thinking about, messing with, or having a steep learning curve. For what it is (an economy keyboard) and it's intended purpose (office/basic use) and for the fact that it does what it is supposed to do, and came out of the box with nothing broken or sticking keys like the G510 -I can't give it anything other than 5 eggs, especially for the price.

As a matter of fact, I am going to look into some other Gearhead products listed here because they keep it simple and don't really seem to do anything bogus like some of the big names. If they make mice I might even replace my awful G9X, too. I don't care if it's low-end so long as it works properly and was designed by someone with some sanity.
