4 out of 5 eggsDisapointed

Pros: Love the modern, contemporary look. After buying stainless appliances for my home, I started wanting silver stuff everywhere, so this was an immediate must have the first time I saw it. Love the feel of the keystroke, love typing on it. Although I now keep my Aurora away from my clients' view, anyone that saw my keyboard used to oohhh & ahhh and immediately beg to type on it. I don't know of anyone that had seen one before & most thought they must have one (until they asked the price!). Strictly speaking functionality, I love this keyboard. I love to type and I type over 100 WPM, and when typing on my Aurora I feel as if my speeds soar to 120 WPM or more. Even when I am speed typing, the keys can barely be heard.

Cons: Huge disappointment with the paint wearing off keys. I paid full price for this board, no rebate, no special, therefore to me this is an expensive board. I have never paid over $30 for a keyboard b-4 this. One would think that at retail price, the board would keep a nice appearance and finish for minimum one year. One would also think that with the Enermax name on it, the board would have zero issues. Before the end of 2 months of usage, the space bar had an oval black spot which has steadily grown & only becomes uglier. The 'home base' keys are now starting to dull and I can see it is only a matter of time b-4 they too will have black spots on them. I still use this board, however I took it out of view from my clients. Better to have a normal everyday that looks decent that everyone sees rather than to display my Aurora the way it now looks (like a hand-me-down from Goodwill!)

Other Thoughts: I have been an Enermax consumer (approx 10 years) because I've felt their reliability & their products to be among the best. Being an IT Pro, I have always recommended Enermax products to my clients. I'm really sorry that I can't recommend this product. I will continue to recommend and buy Enermax PSUs, cases and fans. However I do believe this will be my last keyboard from Enermax. Just doesn't seem like the Enermax way - design a beautiful peripheral, make such a functional and solid piece, but then skimp when it comes to the keys!! It indeed was beautiful for the first six weeks, but when the paint started wearing off, I was no longer showing it off. I feel it is important to take pride in how my rigs look, and I get creative when building them. Because of this, I'm constantly being hired to mod or custom build. Having my keyboard look as it does now, does nothing to seduce my clients.

3 out of 5 eggsFaded Glory

Pros: The key suspension is really quite good. There is enough negative spring to give a nice detent feeling during fast typing, making the keyboard work well. Having a USB port on the USB keyboard is nice for a mouse..

Cons: ..but only a mouse. The USB port is v1 and is pretty useless because of that. Oh, well. I've reverted the keyboard to work on a server, and I don't use it much now.

Remember the Radio Shack Model II? I once sold them in a world class computer store in Miami and was constantly worried that the silver paint would rub off the keyboard shells and look really bad in the showroom. Well, guess what--this silver version keyboard does just that--the paint rubs off the keys revealing a sad under color of cream plastic. The legends on the keys disappear, leaving the typist to guess what the function keys were. I regularly took a Sharpie and re-wrote the numbers and function labels. The manufacturer will not provide new keycaps. You are hosed for replacement parts. Your showcase keyboard will look cheap after a very short time.

Other Thoughts: I might buy the black version. The black keys are solid color and probably are much more durable. The case, however, is anodized black, and that wears off. I think I will scavange the black keys (that won't wear off) and electronics from the black keyboard and move all that to the silver (brushed aluminum that won't change) case. I'll have a pretty durable keyboard then.

The mfg makes a big deal that its keys can cycle almost forever, but its cases and keys caps don't share that survivability. That they know these issues and do not change their product doesn't speak well of their integrity.

I was not happy after talking with their stern oriental, hard case woman customer service representative. They don't give an inch. You will lose. Shame on Enermax.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY ENERMAX!

Pros: Looks good. PERIOD.

Cons: Keyboard is NOT "all aluminum." the keys are plastic!

The keys WILL fade within weeks!

Enermax REFUSES to give refunds! (Only had keyboard 2 weeks!)

Other Thoughts: I bough this keyboard for one reason. They advertised it will not FADE. I use my keyboards 8 to 10 hours a day. Normal keyboards like Logitech have keys with decals that disappear after about 6 months of use. So, instead of buying a new keyboard twice a year, I opted to pay the extra $$ on Enermax because THEY ADVERTISED it wouldn't fade. In 2 weeks (that's right 2 weeks!) the letter "A" started to fade away to reveal a black undercoating. So I contacted Enermax. They said "it must be a fluke" and sent me another keyboard. Within 3 weeks, it too began to fade. When I alerted them, They said "Sorry but we cannot refund your cost on the keyboard." Instead they plan to send ANOTHER keyboard to me. Problem is, in 2 or 3 weeks I will need another one.

In short.. DON'T BUY ENERMAX!!!

2 out of 5 eggsFinish wears off.

Pros: good looking when new, good key feel when new,usb ports very handy

Cons: Key finish worn within 6 months of purchase. Keys will occasionally stick and need to be taken off and wiggled back in place. Tiny backspace key.

Other Thoughts: I reallly want to like this keyboard. I paid a lot for it, I am really spoiled by its handy usb ports, and the solid aluminum base is cool. But the keys are black plastic with silver paint on them, and the finish is wearing off all of them. I can no longer see the N on my N key; it's just a black dot.
While I like the keyboard feel, every few weeks one of the keys starts sticking and I need to remove and replace it to get it to work. I thought I'd get used to the small backspace key; I'm fine with the one on my laptop. But on a full-size keyboard, it's still hard to find.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Cool

Pros: This has to be the sexist keyboard in the Universe. I absolutely love it. Very sensitive touch, I am a good typist, if you learned to type properly you're going to love this thing. I want another one for my other computer. Solid Al case, USB ports are great, and as a bonus it functions as a sound module.

Cons: Not a thing.

5 out of 5 eggsStands out from the crowd

Pros: key touch like a very good laptop keyboard, much better than all those blobby cheap junk keyboards most everyone else is making(Dell, HP, Logitech, etc). like the USB hub and audio(makes it easy to throw on the headphones at work). very solid feel/hefty, pretty good footing. I paid over $70 for my black one, this one is a relative steal after rebate.

Cons: not sure about the key lettering rubbing off yet; but, I have owned a black KB002U for many months and the lettering is fine on that(used at work so it gets lots of keystrokes)

Other Thoughts: I think the finish on the aluminum is coming off my black one, but I'm hoping that won't happen with the silver color. I like the improved USB audio connection over the KB002U, but I don't like having to switch back/forth between my regular speakers and the KB headphone jack. Still love the feel of the keys and the handy USB ports though.

3 out of 5 eggsHeavy & quite & looks good

Pros: Looks very good on my desk. Heavy build with nice brushed aluminum. Has two USB ports and it's own audio support for a head set. Keys are like at a good laptop, flat, quite to opperate. Keys have a good feel.

Cons: Taking it out of the box one of the small plastic legs that hold it up in the back was already broken. I was able to get it back attached, but it would fall off if I would try to tilt it back in resting position. Minor problem for me. BUT that the paint is comming off from so far 4 of the buttons (left shift, a,s,e) is worse! After only 4 weeks of regular typing. I notice that are the keys where the finger nails touch the buttons the most.
Silver is coming off and ugly black like dirt is coming thru.

Other Thoughts: I allmost bought a second one before I noticed that the paint is coming off. Being in an real estate office it would look like I do not clean the keys if I keep using this keyboard. Well, the high value view fades away after only 4 weeks of using it. Other than that it would be perfect for me. Strange that they did not tested the keys paint before releasing this keyboard.
