Perhaps not the best of solutions
Pros: The tablet is a good choice for what it does. If you're looking into something to assist in your work your photoshop needs, etc - it'll be an excellent choice. The tablet has an especially thin profile, with a nice sleek look. The pen is detected so long as it is close to 1" above the tablet at most, with the pen having an excellent battery life - I believe it was around 6-8 months of use before I had to replace the battery.
Cons: The trace film displayed in the pictures is a bit of a gimmick. If one is to track exactly what they see on the picture under the trace film, the trace isn't exactly accurate. One would really be better with just looking at a picture on the side instead of attempting to trace with the tablet - or better yet just scanning the image.
Other Thoughts: To be quiet honest, I haven't came across many other tablets and had the chance to use them - so I can't compare. But for the price you may very well want to look into a few others before reaching a final decision. I really enjoy this one so far, and for its size and the purpose I purchased it for - it has been an excellent investment. But after almost 2 years later and seeing the price of other tablets - there are others to consider. I know eventually though I hope to get a tablet with a display as my next permanent investment :)
