4 out of 5 eggsPicasso preforms surprisingly well in most areas.

Pros: Price is great for the performance. Proof that Wacom has overcharged for years. The pen and pad feel good and the precision is surprisingly on par with other much more expensive tablets. The Picasso has many user interface functions and most are programmable to your liking.

Cons: The buttons on the pad don't respond as smoothly as other pads. They feel a bit cheap. The tracking areas (the two circles on the upper left and right are nearly useless and really hurt my optimism towards this product.) The pressure sensitivity of the pen is a bit off and even at its most sensitive setting I'm forced to press harder than I'm comfortable with.

Other Thoughts: The Picasso Tablet is perfect for what I need it for. I make videogames and just need it for whipping up concept art, drawing textures and some touch-up. The performance/price is unbeatable. However, if I was a dedicated digital pen artist and spent most my time using this type of hardware I'd invest my money (3x as much probably) towards something with a little more performance.

4 out of 5 eggsQuite a good tablet

Pros: Metal assembly feels solid.
Detachable USB chord.
- This is awesome because the chord is always the first part to run out on a tablet. (Such was my Intuos3) and it allows you to travel with the tablet! Woohoo.
Intuitive controls.
The plastic protector (see cons on that) is just about "right" feeling. I would compare it to an Intuos once it's all fixed up.
Hastle free Windows install.
Overall I recommend this tablet over most everything else out there. Great buy for the money. Get 'em while they last.

Cons: The bloody plastic protector is complete junk.
Like many other buyers, my plastic protection screen is peeling upwards as well. This component should be super important to the manufacturer because it's the part I draw on after all! I mean c'mon guys, if it weren't for that this product would totally have five eggs.

Other Thoughts: I felt compelled to write this review even thought he product is out of stock simply because I was skeptical to buy this tablet in the first place.

I'm running Windows 7 at the moment, however I hear the tablet works well under Linux as well for all you Gimp users out there. Mac on the other hand seems to have some driver issues with the Picasso, but heck, if someone drops the $1,800 bones for a Mac that has legit specs for Photoshop rendering, then they ought to just drop the further $600+ for an Intuos(x) of comparable size.

With basic knowledge of glue the issue of a crummy screen protector can be fixed.

I'm not sure if all the top hardware keys are supposed to glow or not, but I only have one that glows. Not a big deal and I don't really care. Heck, who cares about what the tablet looks like? It's the art that counts!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product!

Pros: Being my second tablet, I was a bit anxious to test out this product. I'm very happy with my little gamble, though. The tablet works far better than I expected it to. The hotkeys allow me to get to what I am working on much quicker. I'm able to edit my works with greater ease, without having to resort to switching to a mouse or keyboard. The larger active area helps to complete digital art pieces with greater accuracy, as well, without having to zoom in so far for better detail. A separate USB cord helps eliminate the problem of faulty, or cheaper, wiring; it's much better to replace a cord than an entire tablet. The pen is wireless, doesn't need batteries and even comes with replacements for its nib and tweezers to pull them out of the pen.

Cons: The major issues I had to overcome was the fact that the drivers will not install on a computer if it did not have a C drive. The problem was fixed by changing the name of one of my drives. The tablet will also lag from time to time without it's drivers.

Other Thoughts: I definitely recommend this item to anyone looking to invest in a tablet. Having previously owned a tablet and knowing a couple of other friends with several tablets between us, we found our cords wear out long before anything else. This tablet gets rid of that nuisance by making the wire plug into the computer via USB; the other end is a mini USB that plugs into the top of the tablet.
