4 out of 5 eggsCherry FTW

Pros: Really cheap USB keyboard with proper backspace and enter key. Honestly, it doesn't feel that bad for a non-mechanical. A little bit mushy, but it could be confused for a really light mechanical if you just test it without actually typing on it. Good job, Cherry.

Cons: It's not mechanical? I dunno. Actually, since it isn't mechanical, some media keys wouldn't have hurt. Oh well.

Other Thoughts: An excellent keyboard to get you by if your PS2 port just bit the dust.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Although it is not a high end keyboard, it does the job. It looks better than other standard keyboards because it is more rounded at the corners, but not so round that it doesn't have a rectangular shape.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I like it.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for price

Pros: Basic keyboard. Seems fairly well made. Tactile feedback. Not mushy.

Cons: Membrane feel.

Other Thoughts: I've recently been spoiled by another kbd w/ Cherry Brown switches whiich makes this kbd feel bad. That said, compaired to the cheep, kept in service too long keyboards we use at work, this is an improvement. Next kbd purchase may be a Cherry with G83 line which should be a step up.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Keyboard Ever - really

Pros: Simple, no frills, no nonsense keyboard that feels and is high-quality. It is wired (no need to deal with batteries and connectivity problems of wireless); sturdy, and the keys have just the right tactile resistance. The "Enter" key is the small one (NOT the big one that so many USB keyboards have that displaces the back-slash key). I'm a programmer who works on a keyboard frequently for 10+ hours per day, most days per week, and this is the best keyboard I have used in more than 15 years. This is such a rare find that I purchased a total of 5 of these so I can have them in all my work locations and have a couple of spares.

Cons: There are no cons really. That's what you get when you deliver what is needed and nothing else.

Other Thoughts: It's a simple sturdy keyboard that has no extra buttons that can get in the way, no batteries to deal with, no software to install and break, and no stupid ergo design nonsense. The only way to improve it would be if the bottom edge was perfectly straight. It is slightly rounded. My guess is that keyboard makers do this sort of thing to make their keyboards more visually appealing. But that is a stupid objective because we aren't looking at the keyboard; we are looking away from it, at the monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent basic keyboard.

Pros: Well, if you use a KVM to manage multiple PC's, you may find like I did that anything more than a standard wired keyboard will not work. That is why I bought this keyboard. It is very basic and the KVM talks to it.

Cons: None based upon what this keyboard is designed to do.

Other Thoughts: The "price was right" and having been around Cherry Keyboards going back into the 80's, this keyboard is all about the same key quality/action that I've always appreciated with Cherry.

3 out of 5 eggsDurable, tactile, good price

Pros: feels great, tactile and responsive.
been playing sc2 ladder with this for a few days now, nothing weird. standard layout, and the logo isn't there as depicted in the image. if ur not diamond/master league this should be good. college student that wanted something to last long.

Cons: the keyboard slips on my desk alot, i just wanted a decent cheap keyboard to play SC2. with the height adjustment legs out its pretty much on ice even with the two slim grips. its extremely light.

Other Thoughts: the space bar, enter key, & backspace feel different than the rest of the keys. not sure if they're meant to last longer, but it doesnt bug me much, i kinda like it. $17 worth it, added some rubber to the bottom to stop the gliding.

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg goofed and sent wrong keyboard

Pros: Cherry builds great keyboards. I'm now retired but I used Cherry at work for a very long time and their quality control is second to none.

I tested this keyboard and it's fine.

Cons: Newegg sent me the wrong keyboard. It's only a color issue but I keep spare keyboards on hand and I needed a black keyboard, they shipped part #J82-16001LUNEU-0 instead of J82-16001LUNEU-2, and it's light gray (almost beige).

Not worth an RMA but Newegg should always ship the proper part.

Other Thoughts: Newegg needs an additional support option. For such a small problem I'd be glad to resolve this with a simple, "Yes sir, we can see from our computerized inventory that we goofed. We'll gladly knock $5.00 off your next order."

Not a big enough problem to stop using Newegg, but the customer support options need to be improved. I'll order another today and if it's also wrong I will RMA both!

5 out of 5 eggsQuality with traditional layout

Pros: * Nice tactile feedback without being too noisy
* Traditional IBM PC layout plus the three Windows keys
* Lightweight (can be placed on one's lap)
* Compact (about 6-1/4" deep at the widest point)

Cons: Top row keys (function keys, ESC, and so on) are smaller than normal. I suppose not as many users take advantage of these as in the DOS days. Perhaps the keyboard would not be as compact or lightweight if they were made full-size.

Other Thoughts: There is no visible logo as shown in Newegg's picture, a definite plus in my book.
