5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This keyboard has served me well for over half a year.

The media buttons at the top encouraged me to actually begin using media on a regular basis.

The circular volume control is very convenient, especially for someone that adjusts it constantly like myself. No more tapping control keys.

The shortcut keys on each side are designed in such a way that it would be very difficult to press one by accident.

Cons: The forward and backward media keys only skip, they do not rewind or fast-forward when held down as the media player's buttons do.

The backspace key is smaller than normal, and you may find yourself adding \\\\ instead of going back. As I recall, however, this was only a problem for maybe a week or two. At this point it doesn't even cross my mind.

The Home/Insert/Delete/End/PgUp/PgDn block is vertical, so if you use them very frequently you may be thrown off a bit, and you may not be able to use them as you would with certain games.

In short, as always, look over the screenshots before buying so you know what you're in for.

Other Thoughts: I've noticed many reviews saying the keyboard stops functioning. Mine is working good as new after 7 months of rather heavy usage.

The keys on this are the taller, standard keys. I've had comments from friends on voice chat that it is rather loud (although I do have a microphone that sits on the desk). Something you may consider if you're accustomed to a laptop or a sleeker keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work for me

Pros: It's black

Cons: I guess the biggest con would be that it did not work. I ordered this in advance when I built my system and it sat in the box for two months. When I plugged it in it seemed to be working... until I started typing and the D was not working.... and till this day I can't get the D to work. Huge letdown.

4 out of 5 eggsGood old school keyboard.

Pros: I wanted a keyboard that had an "old school" feel and this product definitely served me right. I love it so far!

Cons: The backspace key is "shorter" than normal keyboards. Something to get used to. Reason why I gave it one less egg.

1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte+keyboards=FAIL!

Pros: Keyboard layout is pretty good for the most part minus a few keys.

Cons: As soon as I opened the box, I could tell I ended up getting an open boxed item. The black surroundings on the keyboard were scratched up a bit, and theres a single spot where there is some clear material stuck to it that I can't even scratch off.

This is NOT a gamer keyboard at all. Holding keys down to move studders a lot, (Holding W to move forward for instance.) Also makes typing a pain in the neck. The backspace key doesn't repeat when I hold it down making me have to repeatedly press it to delete multiple words.

I don't really care for the size of the enter button, and I wish they would have shrunk it down and put the "\" key above it like most keyboards I've used have put them. Also, what happened to the second windows key on the right side of the spacebar.. Overall, not very impressed at all with this keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I was going to return it, but for the price, it didn't seem worth the trouble of shipping it back. I'm still using this keyboard, but only until I find a better keyboard to replace it.

5 out of 5 eggsno problems here

Pros: I've used this keyboard for over a year with my main pc, use it for light gaming and some general office work, never had any of the problems others are talking about with the w key stopping in games, have used it for mass effect 1 and 2, skyrim, etc with no problems what so ever, typing on it now

Cons: only slight con is after gaming a while the wsad keys letters have faded a bit

Other Thoughts: buying another so I can pass this one on to my 8 year old

3 out of 5 eggsYOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...

Pros: Worked great for ~5-6 months.

Cons: The media keys stopped working soon after; so did the volume knob.

Other Thoughts: Spend a little more next time if quality if your preference.
