2 out of 5 eggsUnhappy Customer

Pros: It is slim key board.

Cons: I have noticed following issues.

1. Sometime key gets repeated as if key is stuck.
2. The idle time is small and some times, it fails to get connected to the system and LED is keep blinking.
3. Sometimes, response time is poor. After pressing the key, it takes 1 or 2 seconds to see on the console.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bluetooth keyboards

Pros: Small
low profile
easy to type on

Cons: None that I can find.

Other Thoughts: Purchased two of these keyboards, one for a Mac Mini and the other for the smart phone/tablet/multi use deal. Connecting the said bluetooth item is easy and it stays connected. Quality is good, no apparent issues and in good condition for the two of them. Price range is great for a bluetooth keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, well made, nice feel to the keys

Pros: Small, keys have a great feel to them, uses easy to find AAA batteries (can't be the rechargeable type because it's sensitive to lower voltage).

Cons: Doesn't seem to work with rechargeable batteries. I tried a pair of pre-charged Duracell AAA rechargeables and the keyboard didn't work. I thought it was DOA but decided to try alkaline batteries. After I changed the batteries, it worked very well. My unit came with all of the keys attached and no parts rolling around in the box.

Other Thoughts: I don't expect this to consume batteries very quickly. I have a Bluetooth keyboard from another company that isn't hard on batteries, so I would expect this sort of thing would allow the batteries to last a long time. I've only received it today but based on how easy it was to set up (once I figured out the battery issue), looked at the compact but not too tiny keyboard and keys, and how the keys feel when depressing them, I bought another one for my wife if she takes her tablet along with her somewhere, or it can be a backup Bluetooth keyboard. At $9.99 and free shipping for this refurbished keyboard, it's certainly worth the price.

1 out of 5 eggsCustomer service

Pros: Cheap purchase

Cons: the keyboard does not work, I asked for RMA to replace and their support ask me to send a photo of malfunctions. Not sure what to take picture of...despite long waiting and all the troubles...

Other Thoughts: disappointed

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: kb looks and appears new, box highly damaged. keys feel undamaged and look unworn.

Cons: the on off switch in the back looks a little loose, not a big deal. the connect button in the back feels unworn. will update as i use it if anything new comes up. also there is a small usb dongle area in the battery compartment which is empty, may be useful to some people.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Small, lightweight and powered by AAA batteries which are easily available. I also really like the feel of these particular chiclet keys.

Cons: If you leave the batteries in but the device off, it does tend to drain them rather quickly. Mine drained two sets of batteries in a few weeks. I leave them out when I am not using it, now.

1 out of 5 eggs3 Keys missing

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: Three keys missing: F, C, V. Keys not in the bag or package, so it was packed this way.

Other Thoughts: I did not open and inspect soon enough, so no return.

1 out of 5 eggsInexcusable Junk

Pros: Very Few - See Below

Cons: I’ve had pretty good luck with most refurbs, until now. My first keyboard came in pieces, wrapped in a plastic bag, barely cushioned with air filled packing. At first I thought it had been broken due to the poor packaging, but then I realized that some of the pieces were missing. The keyboard was already broken when it was packed and shipped.
After a weird delay where Newegg wrote that it was 5-7 business days behind in its customer service email, I was sent a replacement. The replacement was missing the page-up key. Once again, the missing part was not in the box, so it had been packed (poorly) and shipped this way.
Only one keyboard came with instructions, and neither came with batteries. The instructions were minimal and the HP site wasn’t much help. I tried using the second keyboard, which paired easily with my Windows 7 Thinkpad. I’m not a great typist, but I found the typing action pleasant and very usable. That was only after slowing down the repeat rate in the Windows keyboard settings, otherwise there were often random repeated letters. There were also random delays and occasional Bluetooth disconnects, even though I was never far from the laptop. Unchecking all the boxes in the power management settings for the keyboard tab in device manager helped reduce some of those problems.
Finally, I tried to pair the keyboard with my Samsung Galaxy Android MP3 Player 5.0, which runs Gingerbread 2.3.5, and there was no way to make it work. The keyboard generates a random pairing code with each device pairing, which has to be typed into a pop-up box, but the box never pops up in my version of Android. Something to think about with Google’s ever changing versions of Android, and Samsung’s failure to update many devices.

Other Thoughts: Newegg did not ship me a refurb, or even an open box return - they just put garbage in a box and sent it to me. It’s insulting and annoying, and I hope to help others avoid my experience. The keyboards themselves aren’t too bad, although obviously fragile and somewhat buggy, but I’d advise staying far away from Newegg’s refurbs.
