3 out of 5 eggsWorks, but not great

Pros: Small, very convenient size for remote control of HTPC.

Cons: Cursor control is like a wii controller, but the position drifts around the screen. Hurt my wrists trying to get it to work. I gave it a couple of omnths on my HTPC, and reluctantly swapped it for a full size wireless keyboard. I had to keep a conventional wired keyboard and mouse nearby to get the PC working sometimes when it timed out and would not recognize the device.

Other Thoughts: Typing on it is better than a smart phone, worse than a keyboard. What I hated was the way the cursor control worked by moving the device like a wii control. The cursor would drift around, and was too hard to control.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks...at first

Pros: Compact. The first one I purchased in FEB 2012 still works great on my HTPC.

Cons: I purchased a second item for xmas in DEC 2012 to use with a MAME arcade cabinet. It connects on boot up but if it goes into sleep mode it will not reconnect no matter what you do. I've replaced with known good batteries, tried other computers. Seems I got a dud this time. I've had it a while without ever using it so it's probably too late for an RMA. I should have tested sooner.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: This device works as advertised. I is a fully functioning qwerty keyboard and motion controlled mouse for a PC. It is just about the size of an x-box 360 controller and fits comfortably in two hands.

Buttons are solid with two AA batteries it goes a long time between replacements.

A nice feature is a pointer lock button that is well placed and serves the same purpose as picking up your mouse when you reach the edge of your mouse pad. It will also turn of the pointer so you can navigate with the arrows for programs like XBMC.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: There is a little bit of configuration that needs to be done to make the controller perfect.

The left and right trigger buttons correspond to the left and right mouse buttons, so if you are right handed you will be left clicking with your right hand. It can be awkward but changing the button settings to left handed in the windows config solves that issue.

Secondly the button in the center of the arrow keys is the middle click which is also a little counter intuitive since that is the ideal spot for and enter or right click key so launching things you select with the arrow keys can be awkward. I used a third party software to remap the middle mouse button to the enter key to resolve this issue.

After those few adjustments this keyboard has been ideal as an HTPC remote.

4 out of 5 eggsdecent

Pros: Conserves battery well. keyboard is nice and easy to get used to. Seems fairly sturdy. Uses AA rather than AAA batteries allways a plus. glad someone finally made this device, I have had this idea for yrs but figured someone would od it sooner or later. works well for a remote when controlling music from across the room and can fit in my back pocket when cleaning.

Cons: I find myself using only as a secondary option for the keyboard rather than mouse and keyboard combo as the navigating as a mouse seems to be annoying at best. Wish there was a way to turn the function off -1 egg

Other Thoughts: I tried to play a game with this and did not work so well as i thought it would. mostly use it for navigating the web and simpler tasks.

3 out of 5 eggsAir mouse control not quite polished

Pros: The keyboard is just big and comfortable enough to feel good in the hands. The grips feel as comfortable as an XBox controller. Controls are logically and conveniently placed.

Cons: The air mouse motion is just not quite what it should be. I've used a Gyration Air Mouse and the motion is more comfortable. I was hoping to get that feel with a bonus keyboard in this product. The problem is that to move sideways, it doesn't work well to use the flick of a wrist. I was hoping it would feel more like a Wiimote. It's not even in the same neighborhood as a Wiimote for ease of motion. However, the Wiimote needs the sensor bar to accomplish this. The Cideko does not.

Other Thoughts: Something weird happened when I tested this out; My PC wouldn't boot with the transceiver dongle plugged in. It just hung up at the POST screen. Unfortunately I haven't yet investigated further what happened. The machine boots fine when the dongle is unplugged. Then I can plug it in and it works fine.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cost not bad. Does not drop keystrokes. Decent for HTPC.

Cons: Not really a con, see below.

Other Thoughts: Air mouse is different feel to use on an HTPC. Would have preferred a trackball or touchpad. I will not buy another airmouse.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little device

Pros: * Simple plug and play
* Navigates mouse pretty well
* Mouse lock is pretty nice
* Turn off Computer with 3 button sequence
* RF has good range
* auto shutoff feature saves battery life

Cons: * Lit keys would be nice for HTPC in dark room. This doesn't have it
* Navigation is a mouse strange initially, but pretty quick to pick up
* Dongle sticks out 2 inches. Size of a USB flash drive.
* Kindof Pricey for a low tech device, but it gets the job done

5 out of 5 eggsFinally! The HTPC Keyboard/Mouse that everyone's been waiting for!

Pros: This machine does it all and does it magnificently. No more jammed little track balls or intermittent key response.
This 'air mouse' keyboard does everything you ever thought of and more. AND while they refuse to mention its size in the specs, the size is another of its great features, measuring 5 1/2" wide by 3 1/2" top to bottom by 1" thick making it a perfect size for holding and using. AND the mouse buttons are on the back edge of the machine which makes them super easy to use. The range is well over your ability to see the screen for using either the keyboard or the mouse. It has dedicated keys for everything you might want to do. It looks and feels solidly built. The rest of the HTPC keyboard/mouse manufacturers might as well give up altogether.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: For those who care, and I'm not one of them, it does not have any "F" keys (not that a HTPC would need any).

In case you missed it, This machine is the greatest keyboard/mouse ever.
